VUMBA – Beira Suite
This super comfortable and elegant suite - with a kitchenette, a bathroom, a mezzanine and an exterior exclusive deck - is ideal for a romantic getaway. On the other hand, if you wish to bring along your kids, they will love to sleep in the suite’s mezzanine (and it’s for free).Vumba's property is divided into 2 cozy guesthouses (The Alembic and The House of the Lizard) and 8 stylish suites (The Bue Maria, The Gorongoza, Beira and the Macuti Flats). All guesthouses have access to a large swimming pool surrounded by a lush garden. All of our houses have fully equipped kitchens where you can cook your meals, including breakfast, and there are two small supermarkets in the village where you will find most of the basic ingredients. Also in the village and 5 minutes walk from Vumba we have The Churrasqueira with homemade and tasty take-away food. RURAL EXPERIENCES Vumba Agrotourism has also the following activities available (depending on the time of year and the availability of our staff): Goat Safari, Chesse factory tour, Shepherd for a day, Make your own cheese, Foraging for mushrooms, Olive picking and E-bike rentals. And more, You can also get some fresh eggs for your breakfast from the chicken coop, pick some organic veggies from the vegetable garden or fresh fruit from the orchard to use in your meals while at Vumba. If you fancy a special treat, we can organize a true gourmet experience at the Winery with Oliver, our guest chef, cooking specially for you a menu of delicious recipes made with local produce. The estate has several roads and trails as well as five idyllic ponds. Isolated from the outside world, here you will find the ideal combination of natural resources to let you enjoy nature and to experience a truly rural lifestyle, on foot or by bicycle. SERVICES FOR BIKERS We offer a full range of services for cyclists, meeting all the requirements of the Bikotel network. Our guests have cycling routes available for various skill levels, secure outdoor parking for bikes, a washing area, an equipped mini-workshop, as well as a specific menu for cyclists and a laundry service for cycling clothes. We also offer bike hire, transport for cyclists, technical support, a guide service and charging options for e-bikes. At Vumba you have everything you need for an incredible cycle touring experience! Within a 30-kilometre radius of Vumba, there are 73 mapped routes. This wide variety of routes covers easy, intermediate and specialised cycling and is suitable for all levels of fitness. NEARBY There are also several places of interest nearby where you can do nature activities: Góis, Fraga da Pena, Benfeita, Avô and Côja, Aldeia das Dez, Aldeias de Xisto (Piodão), Aldeias Históricas, Foz d'Égua, Buçaco, Serra da Estrela, Coimbra and Viseu. There are also more radical activities on offer, such as canoeing down the river, water walks and jeep rides. Or more contemplative ones, such as flyfishing and interpretive walks. OUR FARM Vumba is a small, family owned company, engaged in maintaining traditions and providing a highly professional and personalized service. We produce the organic cheese "Quinta do Carapinhal" following ancient traditions and provide quality accomodation in a rural environment. Vumba’s logo is a leaf of an oak, a deciduous tree with a long gestation period, that always did well in this region. The oak symbolizes our respect for tradition and continuity as well as renewal. In fact, Vumba is highly influenced by our grandparents’ memory, by their love for this land and by all the great things they’ve done.
