Prairie Haven Cabin

  • Welcome to our cozy cabin, situated just ten minutes north of Gimli. With over 1,000 Sqft of space, this cabin offers plenty of room for both relaxation and entertainment. The living room, flooded with natural light, provides an ideal setting for reading or unwinding. The fully renovated kitchen features a modern island with two bar stools, perfect for enjoying a charcuterie board with friends. Additionally, the cabin is equipped with Valley Fiber WIFI to meet all your connectivity needs.

    This cabin has everything you’ll need for your getaway!

    The kitchen is stocked with pots,pans, baking sheets, and small appliances. If you’re needing some time out of the sun, there is a Roku TV for you to rest and recharge! Please use your login information for online streaming services.

    Plan your next holiday gathered around the large dining table, comfortably fits 8 people. Extra dining chairs available.

    With three bedrooms, this cabin is the perfect space for a small get together with friends or family. Take a small walk down the street where you’ll be able to dip your toes in the lake, go ice fishing, cross country skiing in the winter, or go check out Gimli’s Icelandic Festival!

    There are two queen beds, one double bed, and a futon in the sunroom (only available during warmer months).

    Bathroom and kitchen towels are provided.

    Guests have access to the entire cabin except locked closets.

    Outdoor buildings such as three sheds, and firewood are not available for guest access.

Perfect spot

We had a great time staying here. My husband and I and our two kids (9&3) stayed for a week, it is a quick drive to the beach, nice area for walks, and the house was clean, modern and beautifully decorated. We would definitely stay again. Host is also very helpful and responsive.

We absolutely loved our stay at this beautiful cabin. The beds were very comfortable and the living space was very roomy. It was great to have 3 bedrooms plus a futon in the verandah area. The air conditioner in the verandah cooled down the house when we put a fan in front of it to blow it into the rest of the house. Closing the blinds and opening the windows at night kept it very comfortable. The huge trees provide lots of shade for the hot days. The hammock was a hit as well! We enjoyed the outdoor patio furniture with all the comfy pillows. It was nice to have the lake within a short walk of the cabin. The kitchen had everything we needed, and ice cubes in the freezer were a bonus after a long drive! We would definitely stay here again!

I would like to report several issues we experienced during our recent stay at Prairie Haven Cabin that significantly impacted our vacation. The biggest issue was that the cabin became extremely hot because the fans were not working properly. The temperature inside became so uncomfortable that we had to leave the property in the middle of the night with our family, including our baby. This greatly disrupted our stay and prevented us from enjoying the accommodation as expected. We had also planned a barbecue and purchased food specifically for that purpose. Unfortunately, the barbecue grill was extremely dirty and not in a usable condition. Because of this, we were unable to barbecue, and the food we had brought for that purpose went to waste. Another issue was the excessive number of mosquitoes inside the cabin. We understand that mosquitoes are common outdoors, but having so many inside the cabin made it difficult to relax and enjoy our stay. Overall, these issues had a significant impact on our experience and did not meet the standard we expected when booking through VRBO. We hope these concerns are taken seriously so that future guests do not face the same problems. Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
