"self online check in was very simple and efficient. the house was spectacularly clean and in a very quiet area; perfect for a weekend getaway however, the hotspring was not available and the sauna was only until 22:00 there was no curtains so the rooms were all bright when the sun started rising. kitchen was fully equipped. we were a family of 6; 4 adults and 2kids. but none of the equipments were for 6ppl; we found 5 pairs of slippers and 5 toothbrush only. "

"What Hotel Moda lacks in aesthetic charm found in traditional Japanese ryokan, it more than makes up for in modern amenities, comfort, and level of service. The private onsen is clean and spacious and my wife and I really liked their curation of toiletries and accessories - I was particularly taken by the pajamas the hotel prepared. The staff was incredibly considerate and even generously provided free transportation to/from the town center (a cab from Yufuin station would otherwise cost about ¥1,000). I would definitely stay at Hotel Moda again!"

"Staff was friendly and went above and beyond. The private baths were nice and a good way to relax and unwind. The free shuttle from Yufuin station was convenient. The food was great - lots of variety to try. I liked the Kabosu cocktail - highly recommend as an add-on. "

"breakfast and dinner were both good. It was worthy to stayin in this hotel for those elements. However the condition of private bath tub was terrible. The wooden door was off the window frame, and the hinoki tub was moldy in several places. The experience of wood powder getting stuck in my fingernails was really not a pleasant experience."
