"Yes there is a bumpy 15 minute ride from the main road but the pay off is a tranquil environment to relax at Kili Villa. Our room had a lovely outlook to the gardens where local fauna and birds did their thing. The staff were welcoming and courteous, and the food was delicious. Perhaps the experience could have been improved with better communication about food and drink options when we arrived (with an explanation card). There are no other options for F&B in the area (aside from the golf club)...
"The views of Mt Meru and the surrounding bush country were magnificent. The grounds include banana, papaya, mango, pineapple and avocado plants/trees, all of which enhance the experience.
The staff were extremely attentive and polite. All speak English. We loved the food so much my wife wanted to bring the chef home (joking of course, but high praise). The lodge staff were trained as part of a program to provide a good livelihood to local residents who otherwise would have limited...
"The property is an actual farm. Belinda was so friendly and accommodating. We needed a place to stay for just a few hours between flights. She gave us a tour, and even cooked us lunch before heading back to the airport. "
"Not as shown in pictures.
Low key creepy… There was no free airport pickup (as suggested)—we had to pay. No running water, no toilet seat, bugs in the sink, no electrical outlets and very cold.
We were also asked to pay twice.
On the positive they fed us a nice breakfast. "
"I asked them to arrange airport transport for me the first 3 times nothing was done the 4th they said it’s reserved 4 hours later I get a knock on my door if I want to reserve transport it’s more money etc… I wake up at 3 am for transport next day theres no transport arranged mass panic breaks out. It’s not the end of the world I just don’t get how it’s difficult to arrange transport"
"The hotel has significant grounds around it and there are lots of birds. It is just outside Arusha and so much quieter and clean air, there is a lawn and pool and tables to relax and socialize while taking in a great view of Mt Meru and all the birds. The staff are all so so happy and friendly and the place is kept immaculate, with cleaning and gardening work. The food was also excellent - flavourful and well prepared. There were locals coming on weekends for family celebrations. The...

"Didas Villa was the perfect place to stay before our Safari. The owner, Fred, met us at check-in. We arrived kind of late and very hungry. He offered to cook for us or to drive us to a restaurant. He drove us to a wonderful restaurant called Amber. It was delicious with an Indian inspired menu. After dinner we called Fred and he came to pick us up. The hospitality at Didas Villa goes far above expectations. It was a clean, quiet, and comfortable place to stay. The staff were all friendly and the breakfasts were delicious. Fred and the staff even surprised my mother-in-law with a birthday cake after we arrived back after a day tour. Definitely a great place to stay. "
"A great find in terms of value, staff’s helpfulness, on-site dining, and property grounds, despite the fact that the short street immediately outside of the property appears less than desirable. "
"We wanted to have a chance to relax a bit after our nine day safari and chose to stay here because it is close to the airport. You will be amazed by the friendliness of the staff, the cleanliness, the delicious food, and the grounds, as the gardens are lovely. You will not be disappointed with choosing this hotel, they even have a nice pool and spa. The only cons were that there is no mini fridge in the room and the WiFi can be a little challenging."
"Our visit to the Sanna did not start well, there was a snafu with our reservation, resulting in us being moved to their eco lodge on arrival. The staff was very gracious in trying to make up for this, and the owner personally came to right this. The hotel is beautiful, i fully recommend upgrading the suite. There is a rooftop restaurant and bar that has beautiful views. The bell tower and market is within walking distance, however vendors make walking the streets annoying. They have a transfer service from the airport that is worth reserving. The hotel has spa services that are relaxing for weary travelers. "
"Very comfortable bed and pillows. Staff was fantastic - we were leaving before breakfast on our last day and they kindly packed us to go boxes. Highly recommend!"
"Really enjoyed our stay at the Gran Melia. They made you feel welcome from the moment you walk in. The amenities are great. Rooms are comfortable and clean. Staff is very friendly and helpful."
"This is a great hotel right in the middle of Arusha. Good breakfast, spacious rooms and a big beautiful garden to wander through. Take advantage of happy hour in the Hatari Bar.
A few notes: Arusha is a busy, noisy city and you're right in the middle of it. Don't expect rooms near the road to be quiet. Doesn't bother us as we live in a busy city, but might bother you if you're not used to it. The front desk will arrange a driver for you to take you wherever you need to go, but there are a few decent coffeeshops/restaurants you can walk to, as well."
