"I thought you could tell that the property was vintage. It was still clean and the breakfast was fresh and the parking was plentiful."

"The location is off of the main road, but accessible as a main artery to where ever in Asheville, NC you need to go. The room was spotless, bathroom polished, and there was no smell of smoke. It was a true nonsmoking room. The bed had clean fresh linens on it. The breakfast was well laid out and flavourful. Staff were very friendly. Parking was easy."

"Staff at the front desk was very dismissive and made her email that she was composing more important than checking me in. It ended up being the general manager, Brooke Davis of all things. She told me she’d be right with me little did I know I’d be standing there for five minutes and she composed an email. I think we’ve all composed emails before, and if you don’t have time to finish, you save the draft and go back to it later. Very disrespectful to make me stand there and wait until she was done writing her letter. The lobby was completely empty, and I was the only one standing in front of her, and she acted as if, I wasn’t even there. "

"It's not this place's fault you know? As in you can't really even blame it, but I don't think this is what you're necessarily looking for. There's a Holiday Inn across the street. This is a rundown place. Do NOT pay more than $50 a night. It seems safe enough, but it is way below average. Nothing personal, but I wish someone had written the review you're reading right now. If you can't afford anything else right now, okay. But don't book this thinking it's going to be clean or comfortable. It will NOT be. I am not a wealthy man, but i'm telling you, don't just reserve this and move on. You will be disappointed and it will be too late."

"William at check in was very friendly and helpful. I only had a one night stay, but that night the power went out for about 2 hours. During that time there was no communication on what was happening, phone lines were down so unable to call the front desk. It became very loud and “rowdy” from other patrons so I did not leave my room and kept the door locked from the inside, unsure if the keypads were working. The next morning fire alarm went off around 1015am, again no communication, it lasted a few minutes and went off, unclear if a false alarm or if we should evacuate, fire trucks showed up but no could give an explanation and people just stayed in their rooms? I did not feel very safe traveling and staying here alone with these circumstances, at least some communication would have been helpful because I realize those things are not usually in the control of anyone, but there seemed to be no procedures in place to help the people staying there."

"Starting with the positives, location of the hotel was an advantage for our planned activities in Asheville. Convenient to interstates & attractions. We were greeted promptly. Friendly staff. Indoor pool. As far as negatives, our room was not quite finished on our arrival after the stated check-in time. Our bathroom toilet had not been cleaned (urine still in the bowl). We lost power one evening. TV did not work 2 days of our 3 day stay. Breakfast food was blah. Crowded area for the number of people. Hard time finding a place to sit. Ended up leaving a day early, but told that we would be charged for the additional day. Based on our experience, we cannot say that we would recommend this hotel. "
