Mold on walls and ceiling in shower. The alarm clock was set to go off at 3 AM. It took us 30 minutes to get the TV working. We were not told that the entire second floor was under construction, even upon check-in. All staff that we encounter very professional and friendly. We had to turn on the air conditioner because the room was at 80° with no way to turn it down aside from turning on the air conditioning.

This hotel is under a Much needed renovation. Lobby and rooms are all getting a well deserved upgrade so be warned if staying here you will be in a construction site. That said the staff was wonderful the restaurant very good and you can’t beat the view of the Bay from the outside seating area. Great parking lot and easy access to the bike trails.

The gentleman that checked us in was friendly and knowledgeable. The restaurant/bar downstairs was great staff was friendly. Room was clean bed was comfortable wish we had a view of the lake was on the other side and a view of a tree.

The lobby was very cool it’s decorated like a late 1800’s hotel. The restaurant on the lower level had very good food and you can sit on the deck and look out over the water. The down side is the rooms were dated. They need to remodel, add outlets and especially new mattresses.

Hotel has been updated on the exterior and looks great. Interior needs to be remodeled, including room design and furnishings. Hallways are dark and uninviting. Major repairs to the lobby and first floor lounge were in process due to a significant leak in their sprinkler system. This system failure, along with other items noted suggests poor overall maintenance.

I’ve stayed here several times and it’s been wonderful every time. The restaurant in the hotel is excellent and the staff is friendly and helpful. Breakfast was delicious and there’s always coffee on in the lobby

This is an elegant older hotel kept in great condition. It’s like stepping back in time but still has all the amenities. The staff are very efficient and helpful and the complimentary breakfast and it’s setting were the best we’ve experienced in comparable hotels. The view of Lake Superior and the grounds of the hotel are beautiful and well kept.

Expedia should have alerted us that the building was undergoing renovations. The bathtub was very unclean. We did not have during any of the five nights we stayed there housekeeping service. We did receive clean towels when we asked for them. The price was too high for the condition of the hotel and the service received.
