    old-Ashland charm in the Helman House and Cottages. Convenient to the
    many theaters—including the world-renowned Oregon Shakespeare
    Festival—boutique shops, award winning wineries, and restaurants Ashland is
    famous for, Helman House is a home away from home for visitors eager to
    experience all Southern Oregon has to offer.

    Your reservation will include the Helman House and two cottages (sleeps 10). Updated with all modern amenities, Helman House boasts two large bedrooms, a king-size bed downstairs and two queens upstairs, two full baths, and a basic kitchen for light and simple meal preparation. Enjoy the bright kitchen nook for your sunny morning coffee or a long soak in the cast iron clawfoot tub. Located directly behind the house, each of the two studio cottages feature a king-size bed, sitting area, and kitchenette.

    The main house has a central heat and AC. The studios are also equipped with window units that have both heat and AC.

    Perfect for a multi-party or family gathering, the Helman House and Cottages provide comfort and convenience for all.

    Other things to note:

    Please note that the wall shared by both studios is relatively thin as far as soundproofing. If you’d like, please inquire about other units that may be more sound proof.

    There is more than one unit at this property. There are security cameras at this property.

    For safety, there is a ring doorbell at the front door. It is active 24/7. Video and sound recording is motion activated. The home is also equipped with a decibel monitoring sensor located inside and outside of the home. It is 100% privacy compliant and is required on this property. Great location with easy walk to Shakespeare theaters and plenty of restaurants. House and studios were plenty big with fully equipped. All 8 of us agreed we would stay there again.

Create location, close to townThe studios are beautiful, except the kitchens cabinets should be replaced in the main house. It’s a little rundown, but otherwise it was good enough. There were spots on the carpet upstairs. The coffee machine did not work in the main house. They said they were gonna drop a new one off and they didn’t had a few items that were not working properly in the studio where I stayed but they did give me a new tea pot because the other one was old and wouldn’t open up and it was not working, but otherwise everything was great we love the location. The beds are super comfortable, and the sheets are very soft and beautiful.

Ashland weekend

The house and studios were perfect for my 4 friends and myself. The location was amazing and we could walk to most of our destinations. I highly recommend staying at this house.

Great Location & Gracious Hosts

We really enjoyed staying at the Helman House Mega! Lots of space for extended families and walkable to downtown Ashland, Lithia Park and wonderful restaurants. Great off street parking, nice soaking tub in separate bath and W/D on site. Great communication from hosts, easy check in and out. A great place to spread out with extended family.

We have been going to Ashland to see plays for over 50 years (yes 50!) and we have stayed in types of places over that time from Koa Campsites, to upscale and downscale Hotels and rentals. By far our best experience has been at this beautiful little cottage that is a 10 min walk to the plays and an abundance of restaurants.The housecleaning was immaculate, no issues and the house had everything the description claimed, including two studio apartments detached from the original house. The instructions for entering the house were as straightforward and simple as any other place we have stayed at. The kitchen is fully functional and we saved money by eating breakfast and lunch at the house rather than going out. It was a short walk to the afternoon and evening plays and takes less than 10 min to get to the theaters. It is sidewalks the entire way so no getting shoes or clothes dirty. The bedrooms were comfortable, large King and Queen sized beds with plenty of fresh bedding. Overall, I would highly recommend this rental for anyone looking for a cozy, convenient and fun little rental especially if it is a large family or multiple family group. Between the two large bedrooms in the main house and the two studios in back and the fold out couches etc it is ideal for larger groups. Long driveway with parking in back so parking several cars is no issue.5 stars all the way and 2 thumbs up (I would give it 10 thumbs up if I had that many thumbs!).

Great Location in Ashland

The Helman Street Guest Houses were a great retreat for our family's multi-generational family vacation. We had three families meet up and use the main house and two studios for our spring break. There was plenty of space for the nine of us and our dogs. The location was wonderful and was a quick walk to the main downtown area. Communication was easy with Sylvie and they were always quick to respond. We would love to come back to the Helman House for a future family vacation!

Cozy, comfy, perfect home for our very large group!

The Helman House (Mega) was the absolute perfect home for our stay in Ashland. We are a group of eleven 25-45 year old women going through a certification program and our teacher is in Ashland. It took us so long to find the perfect place for us to stay in Ashland as our group is so big. We really wanted to stay together, close to downtown Ashland, and this house made that possible. The beds were all so comfortable, the living room was perfect for having our circles in, the kitchen had everything we needed, and the bathrooms were great. Both of the two apartments were well furnished and just as lovely as the main house. Sylvie (the owner) and Kat (her PA) were wonderful hosts and we are so grateful we stayed here. We will absolutely stay here again next time we come together in Ashland!

Our family loved everything about our stay! The location is less than half a mile to the OSF--we felt safe and comfortable walking, even after the plays ended around 11PM, back to the Helman House. We appreciated that the lights were labeled and check-in/out/entry was so easy. We appreciated the roominess of the property, A/C, and provision of ample towels and bedding. We loved the uber comfortable beds and furnishings--which were not overcrowded nor sparse--everything was just right for our four-day, three-night stay.

Overall the house plus the duplex apartments are a unique set-up close to downtown. However it feels neglected and in need of updating, An example of lack of attention was the cable to internet switch which was obviously not thought-through since it was password blocked from getting any major channel-apps onto Roku in order to sign-in. Overall if you are looking for value its good but it feels forgotten by the owners.

This was the ideal place for my daughter, nieces and me. It’s not fancy, but it’s perfect for what we wanted Plus it’s within easy walking distance to downtown and the theaters. Everyone had their own separate space. The main house has a large bedroom with a king bed downstairs and the top floor is one bedroom with two queen beds. The mattress and bedding were very comfortable. I thought the downstairs bed would be too hard, but it was the best sleep I’ve had! The separate apartments outside the house had everything you need in them. The walls were very thin, so you could hear everything in the other room, but my nieces didn’t mind since they were with each other. The only problem we had were tiny ants on the kitchen counters and floor. The owners were glad I let them know and were getting it taken care of. The communication was excellent. We would hear back in minutes. For the space and convenience it is wonderful! I would come back again.
