The staff were great and the hostel rooms were clean, but the rooms were cramped (you could barely open the door to get in for the bed posts) and there was nowhere really in the rooms to store your luggage that wasn't in the way. The room setup meant you practically woke people up every time you entered. The bathrooms were not very clean and by having the toilet and showers in the same room it seemed to lack enough amenities for the number of rooms. Great location for proximity to the airport which was all i needed at the time. I wouldnt like to stay for longer then 1 night.

Great location and transfers for Auckland airport. Very cheap. Very dirty mattresses and mattress covers. Clean sheets.

The bathrooms were filthy and there wasn’t even soap in the bathroom to wash your hands. The bed was comfortable enough. I would only recommend staying here if you are flying in late and just need a bed to sleep. The bathrooms were so bad I didn’t shower here.
Exactly what you want from an inexpensive accommodation, for a single night, near the airport.

First of all, I had a super difficult time finding this place as I didn't have a map or any navigational aids. The check in and check out was very easy. The parking area is adequate if not a bit lacking, but I didn't have to walk far if I didn't find a spot in front. My 7 person room was full for the three days I stayed but the TV and kitchen area were always open and had space available to seat or make food to eat. Beds were comfortable and clean, although I had the top bunk for all three days. Bathrooms were private and showers had plenty of hot water. Now that I know my way around the Mangere area in Auckland a little better, the place is not so difficult to find and since I was there to go sightseeing, my stay was good enough for what I paid to have a place to sleep and shower.

I stayed in a dorm room, and it was fine for one night. Not glam, but you wouldn’t expect it to be! Bathroom, kitchen and bedrooms all clean and tidy. Everyone in my dorm room was just doing the one night before setting off to the airport.
The staff were lovely and helpful. The kitchen was clean, the bathroom was very worn and not super clean. The bed was worse than a pull out couch, with springs sticking out of it hurting my back. I wasn’t able to sleep at all which was pretty frustrating considering I had to leave for the airport at 5am. Also the linen was stained. I wasn’t expecting anything fancy for the price but a bed you can actually sleep in is important.
I only stayed overnight, arriving late but it seemed ok value for money.

Das letzte Hostel auf der Reise...das teuerste und qualitativ schlechteste Hostel. Bad veraltet...aber sauber. Bett muss man selber beziehen.

Great staff and service, the Backpackers just need new blankets that aren't itchy or irritating on the skin, new toilets sliding door and sprucing up a little on decor for toilet and bathroom for both bathroom in the unit I stayed in. Otherwise, it's a decent place to stay and extra marks for great staff.
Bathroom was dirty and in great need of repair/upgrade. Beds were unmade on arrival and covers were woollen scratchy with no middle sheet for hygiene. Beds had not be cleared for new guests being allocated bunk.
Value for money. Clean, comfortable. Friendly staff and restaurant on site.

You had to give the bathroom door a full body shove to close it. Then the toilet door felt as if it was going to fall off it’s rail. I didn’t even try closing that door I just locked the bathroom door instead as I felt that door would have less of a chance of breaking apart. The bed was comfy but it is Auckland and still the cold season they should be giving you more than one thin scratchy blanket and a fitted sheet as well as the flat sheet. You either had the choice of sleeping straight on top of the mattress with the sheet protecting you from the scratchy blanket or sleeping on the sheet and being attacked by itchiness all night. That being said the staff were amazing 😊
We stayed in the dorm. It was okay.. clean, small, with heater. However the kitchen only have two electric stoves so makes it hard when there are a lot of people. And the kitchen basin was clogged (only one basin). Only Two toilets/bathrooms available. One of the toilet was clogged during my stay.
Supermarket is located 7mins walk away. There are free parking at the premise.
Overall it was ok since it was the cheapest I could find near airport so no complaint.

I wouldn't stay again
It just seems like it was a converted staff quarters. Not well designed. Bunk numbers written on the walls. Not many eating places around it. I'd only stay there again if I was desperate.
