Decent basic stay
Decent place to stay, but when we arrived there was cat urine on the couch, cat hair all over the lounge, and a stench that was almost impossible to air out of the house. The manager was shocked (seems a previous guest brought a cat) but disappointingly didn't offer any compensation for our bother and discomfort. Nice location, but there are probably better places to stay.

Please check our reviews over the past 12 years for all the honest guest reviews. We take pride in our special holiday home and do our utmost to keep a high level of cleanliness. Cats are not permitted on our premises due to my husbands allergies.

Retreat to Relax Reset and Refocus
We needed a weekend away from the busy loud streets of Auckland, we picked here, it was perfect. Heaps of great conversations happening and planning as well as sleeping and eating. COSY! Lyn’s instructions was so clear for check in and check! Thank you again Lyn for letting us stay for weekend!

The location of this Bach can’t be beaten. Easy walk to the beach. The Bach was well equipped. Loved the bathroom! Good communication w Lyn. No cellphone reception but the wifi worked well.

lovely winter getaway
We really enjoyed our stay in this bach, all the comforts of home and lots to keep 2 primary school kids entertained. Kitchen is well-equipped and lots of cool board games. Really appreciated all the information provided too. We would love to come and stay again for longer another time!

Perfect weekend away
We loved our stay - perfection of the day spent hiking and on the beach, cozy mornings with coffee on the deck to the sounds of waves and evenings indoors, by the fire, with friends and their kids (and plenty of space for all). Awesome location, Bach private and homely. Thank you!

It is an awesome place to stay with all family. My kids were absolutely happy. It is very beautiful view from terrace. Beach across the road. Can here ocean all night. Perfect place to rebut your battery, spend time with family, relaxing. Will be definitely back there again. It an amazing spot

Great Get Away
We really enjoyed our stay at this property! It was so close to the beach, and walking distance to the lake walk. The house was cosy, even in the spring, with a lovely fireplace and plenty of wood supplied. Everything we needed was there! Lyn was a great host, who answered our queries very quickly! Highly recommended!

Weekend away with loved ones
1st time to be spending a whole weekend away with friends and loved one. Prefect spot, close to beach. Great zones within the property to enable you to enjoy your own space as well as joining in with the fun with loved ones too. BBQ onsite, so you can cook in the kitchen or get the husbands to fire up the BBQ for a night off. Shower great size with a back door entrance. So, if you just finished from the beach. No sand in the house, straight to the back door into walk in shower. Neighbours dog friendly, had 2 babies with us aged 9 month and 22 months. With both mums blessings and talking to the owner we can pat the dog. Plenty of parking, easy walk to the beach and hiking trials. Awesome views of Bethells, just a true kiwi home that we're greatful we can use as a batch. Thank you for the use of your home. Nice, clean and just a 20mins drive from Auckland CBD. So, easy get away to recharge your batteries and create new memories with loved one

We really enjoyed our time here. Had a little issue with the oven - we thought it didn't work, but we had accidentally meddled with the timer knob which made the oven turn off. Recycle bin was completely full when arrived, not sure if it had been put out the previous collection? Fantastic stock of board games and toys for kids. Comfortable beds and well-stocked kitchen cupboards, although could use a few more wine glasses, as there was only 1 ;) Highly recommend.

Great kiwi Bach. Even down to the local books to peruse on the coffee table. Lots of games in the wardrobe. Lovely bathroom and very private and peaceful. Bethels is always beautiful. Thanks for letting us stay.

Perfect beach escape
This bach is just perfect for a 'get away from it all' break at Bethells. It has a very relaxed feel, great layout, spacious open place living/kitchen/dining space and is well equipped. Loved not having a TV, and lots of peace and quiet. Clean and well organised. Definitely coming back some time. A true Kiwi bach - simple but perfect for us :)

A happy time with family
So enjoyed this spot, was neat clean and simple, so relaxing. Had no wifi which worked for us. So easy to walk to beach, dunes, and O'Neils beach, no need to drive anywhere, as we brought all the food we needed. We have such good memories of our stay. Lyn responded to questions quickly which I also appreciated when getting our holiday organised. We had a slight mishap with the keys which Lyn was understanding about - a wonderful Christmas was had by all in this lovely holiday bach.

Just the most perfect escape. It’s a brilliant family spot. I love this place
This is a fantastic house, it is warm, private and comfortable, the whole family can relax. There is the beach just 3 mins down the road- or the sand dune is only a 10-15 min walk away. Or the kids can run around in the garden, The house has comfy beds and a fantastic wood burner and games for entertainment on the evening . Great for a winter break. Lyn made arrival and departure so easy. I can’t recommend this place highly enough and will be back again soon.
