Delightful in every way. Xavier was an excellent, responsive, and helpful host. We even arranged for him to cook us a delicious arrival dinner. The garden was wonderful for the children. Plenty of grocery, bakery, restaurants nearby (proximity to Bayeux is nice). Lovely lane for walks. We especially loved sitting by the fireplace reading or playing one of the many board games!
Le Presbytère is a beautiful building and had all the facilities we needed. Our host was very helpful and even cooked a special French meal for us, involving our granddaughter in the cooking. The kitchen was well equipped and plenty of fridge and freezer space in the large laundry. The lounge had a large log burner which we enjoyed lighting each evening. We enjoyed sitting around at the table outside at the front. The large garden was great to wander around. There was a trampoline for the children which was used a great deal. It was a lovely relaxing holiday with plenty of space for everyone.
Thank you Xavier that we could stay in your beautiful house. We had a wonderful stay! We loved the place, the characteristic charming house and the huge amazing garden, where the kids have played with great pleasure (including several games available) and was lovely to sit and relax.
Also the warm swimming pool was a big pleasure. The house is well equipped, everything we needed was available, we felt at home. In the surroundings, we visited several interesting places just within 15-30 minutes by car. We hope once more to return:-).
The Perfect Thanksgiving Stay in Normandy at the Presbytery
We rented this house and it was the perfect location for our two families to spend Thanksgiving in Normandy. The arrival was easy and we were met by Vanessa who gave us the full tour of the property and welcomed us.
The farmhouse is just what we were looking for: spacious, comfortable, and located close to Bayeaux to see the Landing Beaches and take a day trip to Bayeaux. The house had everything we needed and the owner, Xavier, was amazing, Everything he recommended was perfect for us. We hired a local chef to cook dinner one night as well as had Thanksgiving dinner prepared by Xavier! It was so fun to watch him cook and he even taught the kids how to make crepes earlier in the day. We enjoyed visiitng Bayeaux and three of our girls went to the riding stables next door to take lessons on two days with Anthony. This was a great experience as well. There are markets and restaurants nearby and the house is well stocked.
We visited in the off season so the pool was closed, and the weather was chilly, but we were prepared. It was an easy drive from Paris to get to the house and the surroundings are beautiful. Xavier is great to communicate with and he really made our time in Normandy special. Thank you Xavier, hope to see you again soon!
We stayed for a week - this place was perfect for a family reunion of 10 people. Lots of room for everyone and the pool and gardens and all the games and activities were great to keep us entertained while at home base. Xavier, our host was amazing - very helpful with any queries and super knowledgeable about the area.
What a beautiful Normandy estate for our 3 grandchildren and ourselves to stay at. We did all the D Day festivities and enjoyed all that Normandy has to offer. Xavier prepared a French dinner at the house with our grandchildren assisting. He absolutely was the best host! We were able to use the pool as well. You won't be dissappointed. Great Stay
Lovely, 300 year old presbytery full of character and set in beautiful gardens in the northern French countryside. Easily accommodated two families holidaying together; two couples and four teens. Nice pool, ping pong and pool tables (the mamans were the pool champions). Short drive to the pretty town of Bayeux and great beaches within 30 minutes. Nearest boulangerie 11 minute drive. Xavier and Christine are perfect hosts.
We had an amazing time staying at the presbytery- it was perfect for two families to stay with plenty of space. The house was spacious and very well equipped, and in a great location for exploring much of Normandy. We all loved the house, and the beautiful gardens and were sorry to have to leave. In particular the children loved the chickens and the pool table! I would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in this part of France.
Thank you Xavier for being such an excellent host, we would love to stay again in the future!
Thank you Xavier and Christine for letting us stay at your wonderful home. We were two families of 13 in total and had plenty of space in the large house and even larger gardens. The children enjoyed the trampoline and the adults enjoyed the log fire, and the lovely large dining table that we could all fit around. We had great spring weather and made the most of the local area visiting the D-Day beaches, Mont St Michel, Bayeux, Caen - as well as enjoying a fantastic family bike ride along the Voie Verte from Thury-Harcourt to Clécy and back - 25km completely traffic free through Suisse Normandie. We hope we will have the opportunity to come back one day.
Lovely house and garden in peaceful setting, but close enough to attractions.
The host was most excellent. The house was full of character and relaxing days were spent in the large garden with its nice pool. A great holiday was thoroughly enjoyed.
What a beautiful property in a lovely location not to far away from shops and supermarkets the hosts were very accommodating and helpful the house was well stocked with everything you need for a week away and the grounds and pool were spectacular.
We would definitely stay here again in the future
