This hotel was clean and in a great location. My initial impression was that the rooms were quite small, but they were decent for the price. My biggest complaint is that I received a noise violation while I was talking to three friends around 3:00 AM. We were NOT being excessively loud. We were literally playing cards and having a conversation before going to bed. Nevertheless, a woman in an adjoining room complained that she could hear us, so we received a call from the front desk. We immediately lowered our voices out of respect for the complaint and apologized. However, when I checked my bank statement the following evening, the night manager had charged me a $50 “noise-violation” fee despite having zero evidence that we were even being loud. The hotel employee who called us on the phone the previous night admitted that the walls are paper-thin, so this is a somewhat frequent occurrence in this hotel. I won’t be staying here again.

Had a wonderful stay. The water pressure was not the best, but I was still able to shower. Also noticed that the comforter was musty in a few areas once I had laid down for the night, but the bed was comfortable.

Pros: * Even the most basic room is very functional: desk and ergonomic chair for computer work, mini-fridge, microwave, couch, comfortable bed * The suite is slightly bigger but I didn't see the advantage vs. the basic room. Not really worth the price unless you want some semi-privacy between the couch and the bed (the suite has a divider, regular rooms do not) * Basic breakfast until 9am: microwaveable burritos and biscuits, hard boiled eggs, milk and cereal, apples, oranges, coffee, juice * Very helpful staff (held onto my luggage, received packages, printed labels, extended my reservation several times) * Nice quiet park to walk or jog in, 3 minutes away by foot (the MetCenter Hike & Bike trail) * Small fitness room with 3 cardio machines * $8 shuttle service to the airport, plus free pickup from the airport * The elevator now works Cons: * The WiFi was extremely fast in the lobby, but on the 3rd floor - unstable, and would disconnect briefly several times per hour. Like most other hotels, WiFi also kicks you out 2 times a day, and you have to login (with the same password). I don't really get the point of this, and if the logout happens during a video call, you're screwed until you reconnect 💥, OR if you're on your phone, it goes on data and chews up bandwidth to handle the video. Microtel, please stop this dumb practice. * The TV's WiFi worked only on day one (so other devices could connect and cast to it), and never since then. * Not the thickest walls, but quiet

The hotel is clean and the staff are polite, the problem was that the elevator was not working and we were placed on room 101 and we could not sleep with the door noice banding all night and customers going to the second floor.
