Wonderful old timey style room. It was very nice and clean, however it did feel a bit out dated. The bed was stiff and sheets were scratchy. The shower took awhile to heat up, and the air was slow to cool. There was also a loud band playing outside until around 10-11pm. It's a wonderful property, but in desperate need of updates.

Second time and even better
Second time here. Amazing locaton close to train and water taxi. Staff were attentive and service outstanding. Excellent value for the price paid. I would recommend for sure.

Pitiful western choice's for breakfast in the Pa Sak Coffee shop restaurant. Lazy room service, had to ask for teabags and to replenish the water. The bathroom appears to be upgraded as from the previous reviews which is a positive but the beds and pillows are very hard and uncomfortable. The Lieto restaurant and Pub is closed. The Chinese restaurant Gu-Cherng is excellent. The traditional thai restaurant Suan Rim Num is in an outdoor area which is nice at night. Another positive were the young man and woman who made great cocktails for us at the small cafe/bar in the Lobby area. All restaurants open at 5pm and we couldn't see any lunch availability. The reception staff are incredibly rude and unhelpful. Total waste of time asking them about anything, you may as well go and ask the Tuk Tuk drivers on the road because they are helpful.

Comfortable and good value for money
Great location for the station, and good value for money. Breakfast was good with a mix of western and Thai dishes and a egg/ omelette option. The pool and gym was fine for us and the front office staff very helpful.

Catering mainly for Asian tourists as reflected in the buffet breakfast. Bathroom dated with a plastic shower screen on a shower in the bath tub,which took an age to drain,as did the sink. Staff generally not the friendliest although it was impossible to tell if they were smiling as they were all fully masked up a year after the rest of the world stopped wearing them

I was very pleased with our room and the free buffet breakfasts were sufficient, although not the best selection I've ever had. Our room wasn't the cleanest and the floor could have used a mopping now and again, but over-all it was large and comfortable and inviting, especially after spending the hot and humid days touring all the ancient temple ruins that Ayutthaya has to offer. I enjoyed the wonderful infinity pool located on the 5th floor, as it was cool and refreshing after our day-long temple ruin tours.

Run down, noisy, dirty, room needs thorough deep clean, reception took no notice of room requests, which your would expect from a supposedly fourbstar hotel.

Overdue for a renovation
Krug Sri River Hotel is definitely showing its age, and is way overdue for a renovation. Rooms still have bathtubs instead of walk-in showers. Electric outlets are a rarity, so charging your devices is a hassle. Carpets in the hallways are old, wavy, and dirty. But one of the biggest nuisances is the fact that the elevator does not come down to the 1st floor in the evening. This is probably for security reasons, but a big inconvenience if you dine in the restaurant and have difficulties climbing stairs.

Hotel Staff excellent, food was great, room and hotel very clean. My only suggestion would be that certain areas need refurbishing such as the bathroom which are way past their best days

I have marked down on service... 1) Dining, only the Italian restaurant open (understandable and not a problem). Presented with and chose from the Italian menu. During the meal, it was noticeable that Thai customers were reading from a different menu. It transpires, three menus were available, Chinese food, Italian food and Thai food. The waiting staff decided that because I spoke English, I wanted the Italian menu. At no point were we informed of the options. 2) Despite the Hotel highlighting staff speak Thai and English, whenever I spoke (to the staff) they immediately looked at my wife (she is Thai) conversed with her and totally ignored me. 3) Checkout, I did it solo and was left standing (for what seemed an eternity) whilst the receptionist tried to contact somebody to check the room. Whilst waiting, a Thai person requested check out, they were spoken to and invited to take a seat whilst the waiting for the room to be checked. We have been married 14 years and I know the difficulty my Thai wife has had conversing in English. I struggle trying to learn conversational Thai - here's the thing, conversing is the way to improve spoken language skills, particularly with a native speaker. Please do not bother apologising, it will only make you feel better. I have no intention of darkening the doorways of this Hotel.

Good location
Overall the stay was fine. I found the beds not as comfortable as most hotels I stay in. The hallways and paint looked a a bit old and warn. The location was excellent and the breakfast very nice with a lot of items to choose from. Unfortunately when you eat at the riverside restaurant in the evening there were many very noisy tug boats pulling barges, so loud it made it difficult to hear the live music.

Comfortable room for a 6 night stay shocking Wi-Fi
A large room that provided two chairs for relaxing, much better than other hotels that only provide one comfortable arm chair and if you are lucky a desk chair. Breakfast buffet was adequate but basic. The wifi logged you out within 1 -2 minutes. You literally did not have time to send an email after composing it while on-line. The pool was excellent and opened until 10p.m.

Stayed here several times due to personal connections and business in Ayutthaya. Property is a bit dated, but a generally pleasant older Thai hotel. Not a lot of choices of upscale hotels in Ayutthaya, if that is what you are looking for (and what is there is often filled up by Japanese traveling for Japanese run factories in the area). This is one of the nicer hotels.

Not a modern hotel but nice. Missing plugs to charge cell phone especially when need to charge more than one at the same time. Wi-fi is very slow and sometimes loosing connection of wifi

Older, but good hotel in central Ayutthaya. Great Italian restaurant with excellent steaks. If you’re tired of Thai food and have appetite for a steak, this is the place! Staff very helpful and friendly. My first choice hotel when in Ayutthaya.

A great hotel but amenities are very expensive
We enjoyed staying at this hotel, however the location is not walking friendly to the local areas as one has to tackle the overpass and roundabout. As a result we eat at the hotel, just one word.Expensive! The massages were quoted at almost 3 times as one would get outside. As a result we did not get any!

Exemplary staff. Good restaurants and great breakfast buffet. Minutes away from the tourist attractions and walking distance to the railway station. I would stay here again, if I should travel this route another time.

Room for improvement
The hotel was a bit difficult to get to by car and although on the riverside, the views were not picturesque. The services were good and to 4* standard and the room was comfortable and clean. The buffet breakfast and buffet lunch were very good. The front desk staff and other services were not well attuned to providing tourist advice and could not handle our request for booking tours of the city and ancient ruins. Taxi / tuk tuk service in short supply outside hotel especially in the evening

Needs updating - Could be a great hotel
This hotel was in a good location, but needs a lot of updating. The pictures are not anything like the actual rooms. The lobby is updated, but the floors and rooms feel like you are in a time warp. When we first arrived to our room, the door knob fell off and so did the faucet when we tuned it on. We had to laugh about it because it was the last leg of our trip. The beds were very uncomfortable! I had slept on a cot the night before in Krabi, and the cot was more comfortable than the twin bed provided. I do not think I would go back to the Krungsri,

Good but needed maintenance
Pretty good hotel, but the building felt a little old and there were some obvious places that it needed maintenance (What was that mysterious compartment above the shower where the light occasionally turned on?). The mattresses in my rooms were a bit hard, but not bad. Overall, not bad.

Extremely poor reception team.
The hotel facilities were as expected, the standards of the daily room service was very impressive, the disappointment was the reception team on arrival our booking in experience was extremely poor and unfortunately this experience was repeated when checking out, the reception team seemed to have the attitude that i was an inconvenience to them, based upon the reception team i cannot recommend this hotel and will not be returning.

Nice Riverfront Hotel
Very nice hotel. Hotel property is very pretty and has areas where you can relax along the river. Rooms are a little outdated but are a nice size and very comfortable. Most rooms have at least a partial view of the river. Refrigerator in room is nice. Location is close to many things, but not very good if you want to walk. Not much within 5 minutes walk, but there are convenience stores and a lovely, historic Wat within a few hundred meters. Swimming pool is very nice. We used it a lot. The breakfast buffet was included in our rate. Many of the choices are Thai breakfast items, but there are 3 or 4 large tables filled with options, several of them western. You couldn't possibly sample everything. Nice baked goods. A lot of fresh fruit. A salad section. Very nicely done. Tried the Italian restaurant onsite. It's ok, but it's Thailand, so it's silly to expect to find excellent Italian food here. A bit pricey. We didn't try the lounge, karaoke, massage or bowling areas. Liked this hotel and we will return.
