Riad Fès - Relais & Châteaux

"Rooms in the interior garden can get noisy from the reception/lobby area and check in. Construction means banging all day in our room. Hard to figure out lights to turn off when in bed. Every lamp is on and had to get up and turn every light off rather than have one switch for all. Sound carries from the lobby. Spa/go to pool area was disgusting. A jug of lemonade with glasses left for guests was there but ants were all over it and around the table and if you poured some in a glass you also got about 20 ants with it. No one at the spa desk for hours, when we left the pool finally a few girls were there so we told them about it. We went back to the pool 4 hrs later and it was still the same. I was appalled that no one tended to it the whole day. Also I wanted to inquire about the spa maybe take a look inside but no one there to greet or welcome me. Perhaps if no one is there, if they’re busy giving a massage, there should be a phone at the desk saying dial “X” and someone will come down to help with information or reservation. Not easy to change money here so if you don’t have MAD better not count on this place. Staff not very helpful in that area. The smell of this hotel was my favorite as was the food at Gayza and friendly staff on rooftop patio. Pool area needs a bit of a revamp imo"

"Lovely stay, the staff were incredibly helpful and treated us like royalty during our stay. The Riad is beautiful and well located. A bit out of the chaos but accessible by car so no need to worry about dragging your luggage miles through cobblestone."

"The hotel is situated in amongst the lanes so very convenient for shopping but very close to the tannery if the smell is an issue [did not smell inside the hotel] - arrived in car and satnav took us to an area that was full of locals and fairly intimidating - I walked up to the hotel [most people helpful on directions] and was greeted by VE~RY nice staff and one came down with me to negotiate a parking spot! All a little sketchy but we left the car and it was still there when we left! The hotel is beautiful inside and very boutique styled with a lovely atmosphere. The owner was lovely and very knowledgable as was the main guy Mahdi he was always available for help or advise, as were all the staff to be honest. Overall I would say it is a lovely hotel and would stay there again"

"Yusuf and Abdul went above and beyond to make our stay enjoyable. The breakfast was the best we had during our time in Morocco. The mint tea was especially good. The location was convenient for exploring Fes. Highly recommend staying here for your visit to Fes."

"Everything about this property has been meticulously designed (including the artful lighting to highlight every facet of the Riad). We stayed in the Royal suite and was throughly impressed by the room and accompanying service - every interaction was professional and polished. Dinner and breakfast was delicious. I would not only recommend this beautifully restored establishment, but also look forward to my return."

"Riad Alya was incredible! The room was beautiful, spacious and very Moroccan. I felt like I was in a museum and couldn’t stop staring at the amazing ceiling. Then you walk out in the center and it’s hard to take it all in. Riad Alya is in a great location, easy to find and every attraction is in walking distance. The moment you walk in Ottoman treated me like family and when I left, I felt like family. Ottoman is the best!"
