A holiday home with two holiday apartments in Brandenburg (located 60 km northeast of Berlin) with direct private access to the “Alte Oder.” Relax, unwind, work from home in peace, go for a swim, take a canoe trip, or go fishing? Anything is possible!
Built in 1930 by our great-grandparents—and transformed by us into a gem in 2023. For you!
The ground-floor apartment has direct access to the garden terrace, which can be easily reached through two large sliding doors.
The two large bedrooms each feature a double bed, a closet, and a desk—and, to ensure a restful night’s sleep, blackout curtains or a roller shade.
The children’s room features a cosy bunk bed, a closet, a desk, and curtains that do not completely block out the light but allow a small amount of residual light into the room—to ward off the “evil spirits” in the room.
During the renovation, it was very important to us to preserve and restore charming original details and original features. In particular, wherever possible, we preserved the original hardwood floors, sanded them down, and resealed them. We also had the original doors meticulously restored.
With the goal of ensuring you have a wonderful stay with us, we have equipped our holiday apartments with luxurious and modern amenities. During the renovation, we made sure to use state-of-the-art appliances and technology from renowned manufacturers such as Villeroy & Boch, Vigour, and Bosch.
To be as sustainable as possible, the house is heated via a solar thermal system on the roof and a heat pump, as well as—when necessary—a new Buderus gas heating system.
The property behind the house is available for use by both apartments.
It is an uneven, undeveloped, and heavily overgrown area. It is not fenced in and therefore has no boundary separating it from the “Alte Oder” River. In return, you can observe dragonflies, kingfishers, raccoons, and other wildlife.
You are welcome to tie up your canoe at our private dock. Here with us, on the “Alte Oder,” is where your adventure begins. The “Alte Oder” originates a few kilometres north of Frankfurt (Oder), near Lebus. It flows through the entire Oderbruch region, passes by our house, and empties into the Oder River near Hohensaaten.
A canoe trip on the “Alte Oder” is an unforgettable experience. With an area of approximately 800 km², the Oderbruch is considered the largest contiguous river polder area in Germany. This unique, contiguous river landscape captivates with its distinctive flora and fauna, which can be explored perfectly during a canoe trip on the “Alte Oder.” Here, you can observe numerous rare bird and plant species, such as the kingfisher.
You’re welcome to go fishing from our dock. To do so, you’ll need a guest fishing permit, which you can purchase in advance from the appropriate providers.
You can swim in the “Alte Oder”—however, we haven’t installed a ladder at the dock yet. (As of 11/23)
