Our stay was three days, the staff were friendly and very helpful from the moment we arrived. The pool and spa areas were superb, and having Black Forest Gateaux with a pot of tea by the pool was not something we expected to be able to do - but very memorable. The breakfast was epic, it’s plain to see how very proud the chefs are, and this is reflected in the quality and range of breakfast items available. We had guest e bikes (at no charge) we explored the local forest area, this made the hills very easy to navigate - the bikes were of excellent quality.

Die Traube ist nach wie vor eines der führenden Häuser Deutschlands, wenn es um Wellness-Urlaub geht und das ist kein Zufall. Sicher ist es ein teures Vergnügen, aber die Traube ist ihr Geld auch wert.

Die Zimmer sind sehr reduziert und altmodisch. Es erinnert eher an eine Jugendherberge als ein 5* Hotel. Die Handtücher sind dünn und keine gute Qualität. Die Toilettenartikel sind winzig und reichen nicht für 2 Personen, es gibt keinen conditioner. Darüberhinaus gab es überwiegend künstlichen Tannenschmuck aus Plastik und unechte Plastikkerzen. Für ein Hotel dieser Kategorie und mit 3 Michelin keys war das wirklich sehr überraschend…Der Service war sehr gut und freundlich. Trotz des Expedia Gold Status wurde mir das Valet parking berechnet was eigentlich ausdrücklich inkludiert war. Das Restaurant Schwarzbaldstube sehr gut und durchdacht.

ich würde keine 5* diesem Hotel vergeben .Im Wellnessbereich war sehr voll und es waren sehr viele Kinder, war sehr laut und man konnte keine Ruhe genießen .Im Speisesaal waren mehrere Bedienstete die kaum deutsch gesprochen haben und somit konnte man sich nicht verständigen .Das Essen war teils ungenießbar , versalzen oder nicht frisch zubereitet. Menü beinhaltete keine Vegetarische Gerichte. Zum Auswahl gabs Spagetti und für Kinder Hamburger, was entspricht nicht einem 5*Niveau .Wir kommen nicht wieder. Für den Preis kann man was besseres finden.

Wunderschönes letztes Wochenende vor dem Lockdown

In einer schwierigen Zeit unmittelbar vor dem Lockdown durften wir einmal mehr zu Gast bei Familie Finkbeiner und ihrem Team sein. Es war ein Genuss. Noch nie habe ich in den vergangenen sechs Monaten eine derart professionelle und gleichzeitig für den Gast angenehme Umsetzung der Hygienebestimmungen erlebt. Essen, Zimmer, Spa und Freizeitangebote inkl. Kidscourt waren wie jedes Mal perfekt.

Well-maintained but rooms could use a facelift

The overall hotel is very well-maintained and spotless, but the furnishings also look "well-loved." Style-wise, it feels more Spartan than a luxury hotel but that's a personal preference. Service at Traube Tonbach was very good. Everyone was unfailingly courteous and it was a bonus when the staff at the breakfast remembered our names. One staff member (Christian) learned that we had dined at the 2 Michelin Schlossberg the previous night and went out of his way to recommend some dinner restaurants in nearby Freudenstadt that were delicious but more low-key. Thanks for that! Unfortunately, Schwarzwaldstube was fully booked the weekend we were there so we didn't get a chance to try. Another matter that was a bit of a letdown - because I booked through Hotels.com, I didn't get any communications about how the hotel rate is inclusive of activities. Thus, we had a full schedule planned for the time we were in the Black Forest and we missed out on the hotel's guided hikes, etc. There is a daily refreshment hour with complimentary light bites (you have to pay extra for drinks). I think for someone who did participate in these activities and enjoyed the free refreshment hour, this would be a good value for a luxury hotel.

It’s a beautiful hotel in a great setting: close to many great hiking trails. Their Schwarzwald restaurant is a must even in its temporary location. They have amazing food and service.

Swimming pools and services are good. Kids have fun. Only one issue, the first reception said serveral times that the dinner and afternoon snacks are incuded. But finnally when we check out,we paid EUR168 for half board.
