Top Bairros Hotel Reviews

Hotel dos Loios

10/10 Excellent

"It's an older hotel, but it was clean, central location, walking distance to restaurants, banks, a laundromat is over the street. The bed was comfortable. The free breakfast was convenient. The staff is very friendly."

Pestana Douro Riverside - Preferred Hotels & Resorts, Lifestyle

10/10 Excellent

"> Excellent stay at Pestana Douro Riverside! > Spotlessly clean, rooms are very comfortable and quiet. Staff is super friendly and helpful. > Great location right on the Douro River — amazing river view, 10 min to Porto center by car. Very peaceful. > Excellent breakfast buffet with a great variety. > We had dinner at the hotel restaurant in the evening — delicious food with a stunning view over the Douro. > Private paid parking on-site, which is a huge plus. The rooftop with bar and infinity pool is amazing! >"

Douro Royal Valley Hotel & SPA

10/10 Excellent

"An unforgettable experience in the Douro Valley. The views from the property are simply stunning, and the staff went above and beyond to make our stay special — personalized touches throughout made it feel like far more than just a hotel stay. The chef's dinner was a true highlight, and the wine tasting experience was expertly guided. The only reason this isn't a full five stars is the more rural location means a bit more travel time to reach — but that's also part of what makes the Douro so peaceful and worth visiting. A beautiful, memorable stay we'd happily repeat."

Meliá São João Da Madeira

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel deserves all the stars. I decided to stay outside of Porto to avoid the traffic and to have an easier time parking my rental car. Loved the location and the neat town. It was also an easy drive in and out of Porto."

Pestana Palacio do Freixo, Pousada & National Monument - The Leading Hotels of the World

10/10 Excellent

"Such a beautiful place! Portuguese people are the best, all the staff was so kind! Thank you"

Octant Douro

10/10 Excellent

"Our stay at Octant Douro was easily the highlight of our trip to Portugal. We absolutely loved the hotel’s tranquil and picturesque setting along the Douro River. Our room overlooked the river, and we often found ourselves sitting in silence, simply taking in the breathtaking scenery and peaceful surroundings. The pool facilities were beautifully maintained and provided the perfect setting for relaxation. The restaurants were outstanding, and the breakfast was excellent, offering a delicious and varied selection each morning. What truly elevated our experience, however, was the exceptional staff. Everyone we encountered was knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, making our stay all the more memorable. Overall, we had an incredible experience and cannot recommend Octant Douro highly enough. We sincerely hope to return in the future and look forward to exploring some of Octant’s other properties throughout Portugal."
