"Rooms were much nicer than expected, new bedcovers, microwave and refrigerator. Well located to go to Davis Observatory. Highly recommended for the budget traveler."
"Ok, so I don't know how to describe this hotel. There is NO STAFF. You are given a code to enter the building and the key to your room is in your room when you walk in . The room itself was clean and had all the amenities listed, the beds were comfortable, the a/c took a bit to try and figure out (not sure if it worked properly- but it cooled us enough). The wifi to the TV - was not working, but it did work for phones. The crazy thing is - the first floor used to be a restaurant, now it is closed but has a pool table, fuzz ball, ping pong table for patrons to use. It is kind of eery. The stairs to go up to your room are very narrow and steep, especially for older folks. As mentioned in another review, the floor boards are loud and creak with every step. The second floor consists of a living room area and an area with tables, I guess if you decide to eat there (bring your own food) - you can. Overall, I don't think I'd stay there again. The town itself is VERY small, not much to do here, I don't mean to be rude, but this place is good if you are passing through for the night, visiting the McDonald Observatory or the historical site itself."
"Staff was helpful and nice. I did a self check in and everything was prepared for me at the front desk when I walked in.
Fresh coffee in the morning. Minutes away from a beautiful view."
"Beautifully appointed house with 5 en suite guest rooms, common front room and full kitchen.
Never saw any staff, but received texts with explicit instructions for gaining access and checking out. Also received contact information for obtaining help with any problems. We had no problems. Great stay, reasonable cost. Particularly good coffee for brewing in room.
TV had basic cable, but no internet connection for apps, etc.—but we weren’t there to watch tv."
