Great old style hotel, comfortable and convenient. I have stayed at the Emerald Hotel 4 times, it used to be excellent but I guess the management is different now. I primarily come to Bangkok for dental work, and BIDC is virtually 2 blocks up the road, and a huge mall a little walk up the road. Public trains city transport is 1/4 mile walk from the hotel.

the carpet was dirty on the corridor and the breakfast place. Staff was unfriendly at the checkin. At checkout was everything perfect. Our room was dark and looked directly onto another house.

This hotel charges extra money for having guests over, even though room had the capacity to host extra people. Staff is unfriendly sometimes.

The sound proofing of the rooms is not so good, it is quite noisy if the neghboiring guest speak loudly. The sound of door closing for next door door could be felt easily when they used force.

Comfortable and convenient
Short business trip. I have stayed at the Emerald several times and I am happy with it. The room showed some signs of age but it was comfortable and spacious. Food quality is very good.

The property was a quite luxury hotel in the past. Now it is quite old already but facility is kept in quite good condition. The hotel room is big. The bad part is the internet connection and wifi speed is terrible. I need to use my mobile network instead of wifi all the time. The very old and thick TV set only have 2 channels. It took me 20 minutes to check out given that I checked out at non-busy hour and do not need to queue. Finally, they charged me 20% higher than what I booked in Expedia. So it should be first and last time stayed in this hotel.

Swimming pool no water. Waitress recycled my breakfast table before I finished collecting only my 2nd round of food. After breakfast back to room, the housekeeper was still housekeeping it, asked her what time shall I come back no respond, then I just sit on couch thought she is finishing but she starts sweeping the room. Asked again how long she needs no respond, I just walked off to lobby. The staff at least need basic english communication.

I Had Company
This hotel was perfect for my stay in Bangkok, Thailand. The only problem I have is customer service. There were roaches found in both rooms I reserved. I took pictures of the bugs and showed it to the manager. He had house keeping come spray raid in the room. The raid made me sick. The person literally sprayed the raid while I was laying across my bed relaxing. I was not offered any incentive for the inconvenience. The hotel is great but customer service needs to be upgraded.

Doesn't serve as a rated hotel. Staff can't even speak English. Not able to acceed to guest request. Have to downgrade my room type for a bath tub. Changed 3 rooms just managed to stay at lower end room for 1 night instead of usual booking of 5 nights. Not able to advise next door neighbor to keep their volumn down after 11pm.. Sigh!!
