Kind staff, great area and value for money.
Truly wonderful value for money - you can't complain. The location in Tanee Road is fantastic with everything on your doorstep, from a 7/11 shop to cafes, restaurants, bars, street food, market stalls, travel agencies, bus No. 15 to the city centre - and, above all, great staff!

It wasn’t a pleasant stay at all, rooms were very dirty and ants are everywhere. We took a super deluxe room with balcony but it wasn’t deluxe nor super at all. Very small room, no closet, glasses are dirty. And we found an old sock, it was disgusting. Also there’re no shower shampoo no clean towels no clean table for the balcony out side and the shower is actually above the restroom cabinet. It’s really the worst hotel I’ve ever been to. I’ve been to so many cheap hotels in Bangkok as I’m a low budget traveler, but this wasn’t any close to what I expected as the price was actually higher than I usually pay and it wasn’t worth it all. Also add to all of the above that they have very rude receptionist, I tried to call him once through the phone of the room and asked for clean glasses and he told me to come to the reception to get them! And when I went there he gave me an old dirty mug with dust on it! Not recommended at all

Great place near Khosan Road
I have stayed 30+ nights at this small, but friendly hotel near the lively Khosan Road. Don’t expect large, lavish Hi-So rooms, rather relax in a decently priced accommodation with free WiFi, TV, fridge, safe, basic toiletries and two bottles of water.

It wasn’t a bad stay and also not super impressed.
The bed was super hard and the wifi was so so so bad, but the room and balcony were sort of cute. If I had a freind wanting to be in the area I would say It’s a safe bet if you don’t need wifi to make it enjoyable.

Looks better than it is.
Stayed in 2 different rooms. The Deluxe Room was fine, balcony had a view over the main street. Bit noisy as the doors to the balcony did not close tightly. The second room was a standard/ economy room. Room had a double bed but would have been better with bunk beds to give a little more room. The bathrooms were really wet rooms, the shower was just onto bathroom floor.

The closest & quietest place to stay on Khaosan
I highly recommend this hotel. I was situated on the 5th floor (Executive room with king size bed). Air con was amazing, was nicely high up I could sleep without all the ruckus Khaosan brings and the staff were respectful and kind.

Good location but room with balcony very noisy.
Location very good. We had a balcony room and it was very noisy. The bed is extremely firm and the room kept well cleaned.

Location
Ideal location close enough to main action but minus the worse of the partying around Ram Buttri and Kaosan Rd. Small rooms are strictly for short stay and sleeping only. Our room with balcony was fine and little noise on 5th floor so we enjoyed a long stay (22 days). Staff very good and friendly. WiFi OK 97% of time for movie downloads/watching (TV is OK programs are not). Lift was a blessing for us oldies

Close enough to Khaosan but far enough to be quiet
I needed this place for two nights after a long flight. The room was not big but perfect for all of my needs. The bed was a full size. I didn't hear any outside noise at all. The street it is on is more for locals than tourists but it is a 3-5 min walk to the tourist area. I would definitely stay here again!

Tiny room, bathroom and AC, but noisy all night.
As hostels go, it's good that a clean single room, albeit tiny, is available, with AC and small ensuite bathroom. BUT, the loud, incessant, all night noise from Rambuttri and Khaosan is too much, even with earplugs. Probably good for a single backpacker with all night partying in mind.

Would stay again.
Overall I enjoyed my experience. Close to Khao San Rd. I stayed in the smaller room and at first was a little upset but was barely ever in my room. Room had a/c, tv, bathroom, and was clean so I was fine. Definitely a room for only one person. You can access the roof which gives you a decent view of the streets and surrounding area. I peaked into one of the larger rooms and they had significantly more room and looked more like a standard hotel room and came with a balcony. Depending on the price of both next time I could stay in either. Only negatives were that there is no breakfast or pool which I had at my previous hotel in BKK for the same price.

Very noisy place
Booked this hotel because reviews said it's quiet.. It was the opposite, lots of youngsters shouting and racing in the street in the night and the windows could not be closed tightly. Small room with no storage space and very small bathroom. The pillows were so thick you break your neck.. Never again!

Easy access to Khao San without the noise
Good value hotel and very clean and very quiet compared with other hotels in the area. No power points worked when key tag not in the room.. unfortunately this includes the fridge :/ Wasn't a huge problem for us as our fridge didn't work anyway

The room was very small, not much space to put your stuffs away. No closet, bed was hard and uncomfortable and the bathroom was tight. Worst wifi connection ever but what I don't like the most was the room lock... just don't feel like it safe enough. Location is great!

Renovated hotel near Khosan Road
First of all: I've paid 29 bucks per night, we should keep this in mind. The hotel is close to Khosan road, but it's not that noisy there. The hotel looks renovated, the rooms are small. You don't have a wardrobe, a desk, or any other possibility to store your luggages. The bathroom is nice. I would recommend you to book the deluxe room with balcony. They offer free wifi, the air conditioning is strong, the fridge gets refilled with two complimentary bottles of water daily.

Quiet spot near Khaosan Road
Though he room is quite small..the staff was very friendly and helpful. I was surprised at how quiet it was considering it is only one street over from very busy Khaosan Road. Internet worked great!

Perfect location for us- late 20s/early 30s couple
Great little hotel very near Khao San road but not amongst the madness. We are late twenties/early thirties couple and although enjoy the nightlife, we didn't want to be amongst the backpackers too much so this was perfect for us..we had the option to party or instead go or a nice dinner. The next street along was actually our favourite (running parallel between Tannee and Khao San road- it has endless street food stalls, fresh smoothies, market stalls and nice restaurants with live music at night. Also places where you can grab a bite for breakfast- Thai style or English/American.

This is by far one of the best budget hotels in the Kao San area. It is located in a quiet area so you should be able to get some sleep. Price is fair for what it is. Hotel was either renovated in the last year or two, or is completely new. I was in this neighborhood a few years back and paid a similar rate for an older hotel that did not compare. Staff is available 24/7 in case you need something. Water cooler is a huge plus as many hotels intentionally do not have one in the hope that you purchase their overpriced water. Please note that the room I stayed in was incredibly small with a decent sized bathroom. Fine for sleeping but that's it. Also if your interested in Buddhism, there is a temple within 100 meters. The monks go on alms round at 6am and you can purchase prepared food to offer the monks on the next street over.

Good Stay at Tanee Place
Had a pretty good stay at Tanee Place. The room was clean but the bed was as hard as a rock. Shower was clean but the pressure was low. For the price it was a great deal. The surrounding neighbourhood was perfect, especially having a 7 eleven across the street and a great massage place downstairs. Balcony door didn't lock properly. Make sure you check that before you stay. Overall it's right near Khoa San Road without the noise at night!!

Nice hotel close to Khao san road
stayed 3 nights ; Had a wonderful stay; very close to khao san road and walking street 5 minutes walk but quite and peaceful. The owners manage the property and at the reception for assistance 24 hours. Rooms are equipped with everything you need; TV, Fridge, Hot water, Powerful Aircon and good Bed.I had no issues and will stay here again; I am thankful to The management and owners for the personalized service and beautiful place to stay.

Great little hotel very close to Khao San road but quiet enough to get a good nights sleep! The rooms are compact, especially the bathroom but they are actually as the photos on web sites. There is no wardrobe so if there are 2 of you with suitcases you may be tripping over them but easy to cope with this if only for a couple of nights. Staff tried to be helpful but their English isn't great although its far better than my Thai, still they were able to give directions & book taxis. If visiting this part of Bangkok again then I would definitely return.

Petite hotel in the center of activity
I enjoyed staying at the Tanee Place. The staff were really friendly - greeting me everymorning, they even helped me with getting a good deal with my taxi to the airport. The room was small but it was only for me, had airconditioning and was very clean. The hotel is just around the corner from khao san road so you are close to the action but not on top of it. If I was to visit Bangkok again I would definitely stay here.

Nice hotel staff, balcony & close to Khan San Rd. As previously mentioned on reviews, shower over toilet & basin, no problems with us, however very small bathroom. Very clean & comfortable.

if you are looking to party this is an ok option pros: location- 2 min walk to night markets and party central roof top patio they don't advertise and somewhat block off by putting cots in the stairwell access (had two nice yoga sessions up there) and has panorama view of the city cons: single room is maybe 75ft square although advertised as 150 ft sq they never come to clean your room cause it's so small staff provide no assistance but are friendly (asked if there was a grocery store close by to which the response was sorry don't know. there was 2 within one block) very loud- you will be woken up by someone or something unless you sleep like the dead bathroom is wall mounted shower which rarely has hot water

Fantastic location if you want to be near koh San road, 5 minute walk. Dozens of food outlets on the doorstep, street and restaurant food. About 30 mins taxi from bkk international (600 bht, £12) - budget hotel with the neccessities, no really luxuries here, so don't expect the world and you'll be fine.

Room is clean with very friendly staffs. However there is a lack of space or shelvings in the toilet to put any of my toiletries at all! Which means I have to put everything, shampoo etc. on the floor. No wardrobe too. There are a lot more that can be improved.
