Michael:
We came down to Banner Elk to see my son, who attends Lees-McRae College. The cabin was lovely and well cared for and Michael was great about letting us know all of the details of the area and things we could do during our stay. We really enjoyed it and would go back.

Natalie:
We were beyond pleased! It was our first experience with Airbnb. We cant wait to do it again and the Sugar Mountain house set the bar high. What a quaint and comfortable home but with lots of space. Hot tub was perfect on the cooler nights. We just loved the location, it was so close to so many things to do. Lots of free things. Michaels communication was quick. It was really a wonderful week.

Beautiful Cabin

Traveled from Memphis for a trip with my mom and sisters in Sugar Mountain, and the cabin was perfect. Easy check-in/out process, nice hot tub, clean property, cute Fall decor, and good communication with the owner. The weather was perfect and the cabin was close enough for quick trips to Banner Elk, Blowing Rock, and Grandather Mountain; but also far enough away for a nice, private mountain oasis. Highly recommend. ⭐️

Wonderful summer stay!

We had a great stay at The Farmer's Retreat in early July. We traveled to NC for the Highland Games and this cabin was such a nice and private escape from the hustle and bustle of the week. The location is very close to grocery stores, restaurants, and gas stations, but feels like it off the beaten path. The place felt so comfortable like you were at home! We spent a majority of our time on the huge front porch enjoying the weather and comfortable patio furniture. The driveway is steep but there is a covered area that fit a large SUV and a gravel parking area that fit two additional cars off the driveway. Our customer service was exceptional. Michael responded quickly, checked in often, and addressed all of our needs to make our stay over the top. Please stay here if you are visiting the Banner Elk, Linville, Boone, Grandfather Mountain area!

Unexpected guests

We stayed 4 nights Tuesday-Saturday. We were busy the first two days and basically only slept at the house. On Thursday night we were watching Netflix in the living room when we noticed a mouse. The house is in the woods so I wasn’t too concerned. I tried to catch it to put it outside. It was late so we went to bed. Friday we were gone all day and we decided to pick up Chinese on the way home. As we ate in the living room we saw the mouse again running all over the living room. I again tried to catch it. My girlfriend went into the kitchen area and noticed another mouse on the stovetop. It wasn’t afraid of her as she took a couple pictures of it. I sent the owner a picture of the mouse and I got no reply. Friday night was like something out of a horror movie. We could hear mice running around. I think they were in the walls but we slept with the light on because it sounded like they were in the room. We didn’t leave any food out on the counters and I took the trash out before bed Thursday and Friday nights. I texted the owner about the mice again and told him he needed to get an exterminator in before anyone else stayed at the house. He only replied that one had been contacted.

Great Rustin Cabin

A beautiful home. The perfect rustic cabin in the woods 2 min from the ski mountain. We loved our stay! However the grill needs charcoal to run instead of propane in the photos which put a hic up in our dinner plans.

Perfect for family ski trip

The owner was very responsive and helpful! The cabin is cozy and the hot tub perfect for before or after ski warmups. Kitchen is stocked with everything you need except a dishwasher. The driveway is very steep but not very long so parking at the bottom and walking up the tiered walkway is easily doable. Overall, a great experience and we would stay there again!
