About this property

Waterfront House close to Acadia National Park

  • Our waterfront home is located on the tidal bay called Taunton Bay and Mill Brook. The house is a great blend of a traditional Downeast farmhouse with modern amenities. Wasgatt Point, or as we call it, "the point", is a short walk down the driveway to watch the sunrise, admire Schoodic and Cadillac Mountains or pick blueberries when in season. See osprey, eagles and other wildlife from the kitchen table. In the month of May, watch the Alewives, a type of fish, make their way up the brook to spawn which brings lots of action to the water. Bring your kayaks to explore the bay where you may see seals or your bikes to explore Acadia and The Downeast Sunrise Trail. Trail parking is only a couple miles away where you can unload your ATV's and travel downeast. We are 10 miles from Ellsworth, 26 miles to Bar Harbor, 20 miles to Winter Harbor, the Schoodic Peninsula portion of Acadia National Park and 38 miles from Bangor.
