Nice little cabin right on lake superior. Great location, would recommend. Just so everyone knows this is a rustic cabin but was a great place to stay.
The property had everything we needed. We loved it so much. The location is right on the bay, if you are in to ice baths the water was perfect for it (we went in October.) Its located next to a main rd, but the brush line gives you privacy.
We were looking for a place to relax and this was the place! If you want fancy, this isn't the place, but for us it was reminiscent of the cabin stays of our childhood. We had everything we needed for our 4 day stay. Wish it was closer to home! The heated floors were a plus in the morning 🌅. Loved our stay!
We loved our stay at this cabin. We appreciated the authentic details of the old log cabin, mixed with modern touches to make it comfortable. No it's not the same as being at a hotel, so if you have that in mind maybe look elsewhere. But if you want a unique stay in a beautiful spot, here you go.
It ended up being a night it snowed. Thankful for the warm cozy cabin with a view of the lake.

The cabin was very nice.felt like home,so cozy and comfortable. All log and rough sawn planks, the floor creaked like an old time general store.Sitting as close to Lake Superior as we were made this place all that more awesome. Also the fact that they are pet friendly made a huge difference in our decision to stay here as our furbaby travels with us everywhere we go.We totally enjoyed our stay and definitely will stay again in the future.
This cottage is SO COZY and those views?!?! 💯 I wish we could’ve stayed another week! I loved waking up to the beautiful sunsets on the bay right from the cute little beach area. I hunted rocks, watched the birds, had a bald eagle and golden eagle join our company in the birch tree on the property. The two camper couples were equally as pleasant to chat with. Overall 10/10. Definitely recommend!

Good location but the cabin did not appear to have been cleaned
We stayed for five nights while we toured the peninsula. The cabin was a good central location. The bed and the furniture were very comfortable.
Sadly, there was no toilet paper, the floor had not been swept and there were Beaners coffee cups on the picnic table outside,

Stay in Baraga
The place could have definitely been better maintained!!! It was a cute cabin and beautiful shoreline of Lake Superior !! The cabin appears to have not been cleaned, 1st thing I had to do was clean the refrigerator out to be able to put our food in there was crusted food and shells of onions. The best part we enjoyed was the fireplace . We thought that it made more sense for the bed to be on the other side of the room and the dining area and living area to be in front of the fireplace, but we still enjoyed it. The bathtub was something I looked so forward to being that it was jet powered, but when we started the tub and the Jets, a bunch of black flaky fungus came out and continued to come out While running !! we had a blast, exploring the nature in our surroundings and hiking!!
This was a real cute and cozy cabin. I gave a three for cleanliness because it definitely needs a good deep cleaning. There were cobwebs and furniture covers were dirty. I would suggest a second set to swap out between guest stays. Location was good, just a lot of noise from the traffic. I guess it depends on what you are looking for. We enjoyed our stay and we were able to bring our dog. We would stay there again.
Small cabin on Lake Superior. Very cozy ~ we slept great. Had everything we'd need for linens, towels, dishes, etc... No firewood though. Two trailers/campers on the property but no one was there since it was so cold out - might have neighbors though in the summer. The cabin was a little tricky to find at first, but the Sunset Cove sign definitely helped! The outdoor view was beautiful, especially the sunsets! We loved this little cabin, just didn't like the campers making it feel crowded... but we are pretty private people. :)
Slept within feet of highway. Sewer emptied into lake right next to property. Dog and family couldn’t swim. Run down trailers on property. Unusable. WiFi didn’t work. Dishes, towels, bedding were dirty. We were so happy to leave. This is my first and last time using Vrbo
The little bear cabin was adorable and cozy! We loved it. It is small but that made it super cozy and we loved the fireplace in front of the bed. It also did have everything we needed to cook nice meals. It was super close to tons of fun things to do. The view of the bay was great and we saw an incredible sunrise! The cabin is right on top of highway 41 so we did have to really watch our dog but it did not bother us at all other than that. There are two camper trailers in the yard that are also rented out, we were lucky and they were not in use while we were there. One of the trailers is right to the side of the big window over looking the lake. It would have been a huge shame if someone were there and we had to keep the shades drawn or didn't have complete use of the yard to let our dog run and get some exercise. Over all we are very glad we stayed here, great value for what you get and the location!
I absolutely adore this cabin. After reading some of the reviews I was a little nervous to stay here because of negative reviews regarding cleanliness and the two campers. But I am so happy I stayed. I used my UV light around and everything was clean. The two campers on site were occupied during my stay, but they did not interfere with the view nor did it feel like they were too close.
This cabin has so many cute decorations and little touches throughout that make it such an adorable little cabin.
Check in was easy. When I checked out I got about an hour away before realizing I left my purse there and had to turn around. I messaged the Host through the ap and received a quick response. My purse was safe in the cabin when I arrived to get it. Of course the relief I felt with the honesty and trust that was built with the host during this incident intensifies my gratitude of the Host for opening the cabin to share. I highly recommend staying here.

Did not even stay the night
I’m not one to leave bad reviews but I would not recommend this property. The place is kinda as listed but the pictures are deceiving. It does have nice amenities like a keurig, satellite and streaming services and lakefront views. However, it is run down and unkept - or no one has stayed in it in ages. There were cobwebs, live spiders crawling around, holes in the floor, wires hanging out of random places and the light in the bedroom doesn’t work at all. It is much smaller than it looks in pictures and is basically one connected room. The stove doesn’t look safe and the fridge is resting on boards. Outside there are several campers that look in use but there’s no cars or other transportation methods outside (kinda creepy). We checked it out twice before deciding to just drive back home and forget the whole thing.

Great spot but honest review
I only review honestly but I will put many pros first. Gorgeous view. Adorable cabin. Stocked cleaning supplies. Fire pits. Responsive host. Linens towels and bedding provided. Honestly, before you read the cons, please know we thoroughly enjoyed this place, I just didn't expect to have to clean as cleaning fees are part of Vrbo charges so it should have been cleaner from prior stay. The host even gave permission with no fee for us to arrive early (we didn't end up needing to do so but it was so kind.)
Cons-
The fans were too thick with dust to use and there was dog doody everywhere. We made sure to pick our up and dispose of it. The WiFi literally doesn't work at all but we weren't there for that. I also had to scrub the bath to use it.
With more cleaning and enforcing dog poop cleaning, it would have been stupendous. Who cares about WiFi, just maybe don't advertise it as a perk?
Despite the oddly manic review, I'd rent again and hope to make it an imeccape 5 stars!
We enjoyed an unobstructed view of the breathtaking Northern Lights during our stay.
The cabin is very close to the highway as stated in several reviews however there is plenty of room to chain your dog and safely play with the kids. Highway noise wasn't an issue for us. My husband is a light sleeper and he had no problem during the four nights we stayed.
There is a lack of right angles and level floorspace but that only adds to the quaintness. This is definitely a great place for us along with our furry friend, Henry, to unplug, reconnect and enjoy the company of one another.
The property is perfectly described. If you want cushy carpeting, a large kitchen and 1000 sq ft then I suggest you stay home or book a hotel room elsewhere.
We will be returning in the near future. Thank you Lynn for sharing this charming piece of nostalgia.
I did deduct a star on the cleanliness rating for the windows inside and out as well as the outside logs and overhangs could use a good sweeping. Nothing major just general maintenance stuff.
Thanks again!

Tons of potential
The cabin was what we expected. This is a very cute cabin, but with issues. Little Bear Cabin has so much potential. We stayed three nights in September and had a bunch of fun. It sits on Keweenaw Bay directly across from the city of L’Anse. Very nice view. Not the swim spot as advertised. Nice fire pit, with plenty of firewood.
It is a small old cabin with very little counter space. The Kitchen and bedroom are all in one room. The fireplace is nice, but in the kitchen. The bathroom is very spacious. Anymore than two people in the cabin would be crowded.
The biggest thing that needs to be taken care of is the electrical. It needs to have an electrician go through the cabin and permanently finalize and repaired. Around the outside of the cabin, there is just too much crap laying around that should be picked up.
The cabin was dirty. Nothing serious, but it definitely needs a good hard cleaning. I would expect that in a rustic cabin, but not with this nice cabin.
The logging trucks coming down the hill from L’Anse on Highway 41, around the lower end of the bay and into Baraga are moving very fast. Make sure you put your blinker on way ahead of time. The cabin comes up fast and they will run you over. It is better to drive past and come back.
Like I said at the start, this cabin could be a gem in the Michigan UP, but needs some tender loving care.
All in all, the cabin suited our needs, a place to eat and sleep.

Unsafe stay for some. Disappointing.
We wanted to love this stay. A cute & well-decorated old cabin is pretty tough to mess up, but this stay does. The cons outweigh the pros here & the listing isn't up front. Def not worth the $600 we paid.
PROs:
- Cozy
- Well-decorated & charming
- Great views
- Nice location near Keewenaw.
CONS:
- SAGGING, SOGGY FLOOR. The subfloor is 100% rotten in the main cabin & bath. No little slope — the fridge is shimmed up 4in or so. When our 30lb dog walked through the cabin, the. floor. bounced. The toilet wobbles when you sit on it. Anyone w/ mobility or vision problems could fall or get hurt.
- MOLD WARNING. Complete lack of caulk around fixtures or mounting in bath so shower spills water behind the tub. It runs under the tub & out onto the floor — presumably under the linoleum which, because of the sagging, is pulling away from the tub & wall. Mold sensitivities made this stay very uncomfortable. I tripled my antihistamines & tried to stay out of the cabin. Between the breathing issues from allergies + the grogginess from extra meds, I felt like crap while we stayed here.
- NOT CLEAN. The shower had smudges (ew), no dusting, old, stinky dish sponge... I ended up cleaning the coffee stand myself and rewashing our dishes due to dust and dead bugs. Hopefully the bedding had been changed?
- NOT STOCKED. The listing makes it seem that wood & coffee are provided. They were not.
- LOUD. Literally 50 ft from busy highway w/ shipping & logging traffic. No relaxing here.
