Great Experience in Barcelona

The property was quite clean, spacious and nicely located in the heart of Barcelona downtown. The property manager was very helpful and responsive. She went above and beyond an average property manager to accommodate our family. We strongly recommend this property if you plan to visit Barcelona.

Convenient and nice place, wonderful host!

After a tricky arrival in Barcelona, it was a joy to have such a helpful host, and a pleasant place to stay. Chelo was so helpful from the start, the apartment has everything we needed for the 4 days we were there, and during our hot stay, the AC in all rooms was wonderful. I would certainly recommend this place to others!

Super place to stay in Barcelona

Great location. Can walk to Gaudi church, shopping, restaurants and interesting architecture. Our host was very helpful, recommending excellent neighborhood restaurants, providing beach towels for our Mediterranean swim and answering questions. Apartment was very comfortable for our party of four. We all had a wonderful time there.

Perfect apartment in an excellent location

This apartment and owner were perfect. The apartment was very well equipped and the linens were fresh and plentiful. The kitchen had everything needed to prepare full meals-which we did. EASY access to the metro, shopping, and sights. Highly recommended.

Great apartment

The property is as described. It was perfect for me, my husband and our 11 year old daughter. We did lots of walking to tourist sights and found the location to be relatively central. There are lots of conveniences very close by - pharmacy, market, great restaurants and shops. It was nice to stay where people live and experience their way of life. Chelo was very responsive and wonderful to work with.

Great location

Chelo was very helpful from our first contact through checkout. She gave us advice about good places to eat & shop for food nearby. There was an extra room for our son to stay the night. We had a wonderful stay. Comfortable bed, warm shower, good air conditioning. Washing machine & dishwasher. Plus a great location for walking. It’s near restaurants, bakeries, coffee shops, bars, museums, landmarks and the water.

Walking distance to so many fabulous places!

Chelo is a delight! She made us most welcome and provided us with many excellent suggestions for the area. We felt safe walking to restaurants and to the metro. The apartment has everything you need from wifi to washing machine. We would definitely go back. One note, the walls are a bit thin so you can hear neighbours, but not uncomfortably so. I slept well and I am a light sleeper!

A nice located apartment in a secure area

We were 4, 2 adults and 2 old teens, in this well and nicely furnished apartment. Chelo (the owner) had discribed it the way it is, no surprise. The area is safe, actually as Barcelona ! The apartement was quite, clean and well furnished. The air conditioning in the 2 bedrooms plus living room was very appreciated after long day walking outside. Chelo has been very responsive to our needs, advising us visits, tours and restaurants. Thanks again Chelo!

Great trip, great location, great host!

This was our first time using VRBO, and it was a great experience. Chelo responded to all our inquiries in a very timely fashion. Upon meeting us at the apartment, she showed us all the amenities, and gave us a map of the area and highlighted restaurants and sites we should visit. The apartment was as advertised. The shower was great, and the air conditioning was much appreciated on the hot days we experienced in Barcelona. The location was ideal ... easy to get to all the places we wanted to visit. The apartment was also very quiet. At the conclusion of our trip, Chelo ordered a taxi for us to take to the airport. It was a great trip!

Wonderful Stay in Barcelona!

I stayed at this property with my wife and teenaged daughter. We had a wonderful month-long stay in Barcelona, thanks to these great accommodations and excellent service from Chelo. The property is well situated, very clean and well appointed It's located in a safe neighborhood that is walking distance to most of the main sights. We had everything we needed for a few meals in and there are numerous restaurants, markets, coffee shops, etc., all within a couple blocks. Chelo is an attentive host, always on-call to provide in-person service, and provided lots of useful information for our visit. She took great care to explain the neighborhood, site, transit stops, grocery and restaurants on the block! We can't imagine a better place to stay in this wonderful city

Convenient location

Chelo is kind and very accommodating. Enjoyed meeting her. Location was great for Metro and a couple of good restaurants nearby. Loved L’Obrador Cafe and El Viti. The apartment size is good. Used second bedroom as a dressing area. Bed was very comfortable and clothes washer convenient. Bath linens were a bit dingy although they seemed freshly washed. Maybe time for a new shower curtain. We did not spend much time in the apartment. It was perfect for us, but if you want to cook/eat or entertain, would not recommend.

Enjoyed our visit

Chelo was an excellent property manager, waiting for us at the doorstep of the unit upon arrival, and providing us with much information about the city and surrounding neighborhood. The unit is accurately photographed, clean and bright, and the futon and chair in the lounge are as comfortable as pictured. The beds in the unit were very comfortable. Great shower. The kitchen came in handy to cook a few meals. Basic necessities were provided like oil, seasonings, and coffee maker. Washer was handy for laundry, the "dryer" is a cloths rack, typical for Europe. Fairly quiet area and we were able to sleep in comfortably. Everything within walking distance, and we walked alot. Stores and restaurants same block, 5 min. walk to purple line metro, 20 min to Renfe Passig de Gracia station.

Great Month in Barcelona

Everything you read about Chelo is true. She is a caring, wonderful person who takes a personal interest in ensuring that your visit to Barcelona is memorable and goes as smoothly as possible. Chelo spent a hour with us taking us through how things worked in the apartment and walking us through the main sites of Barcelona with an oversized map of the city, upon which she marked places we should see. Chelo e-mailed us to tell us when stores and restaurants would be closed during holidays. She insisted on cleaning the apartment twice during our stay and was very responsive both during the rental process and when we had a problem with the door lock. The apartment is perfectly located, close to two Metro stations and very walkable distances to many major tourist sites. The bed is very comfortable and the shower always has hot water at high pressure. We have been renting apartments in Europe for eight years and Chelo is one of the best owners we have had the pleasure to deal with.

Stay in Barcelona May 22, 2011 - Excellent

Chelo is a great, great host. This was my first time staying in a private apartment. I have traveled the world and stayed in all sorts of various hotels and may never stay in another hotel again! I never had anyone in my prior travels personally greet me at the door of my room and spend time telling me about the city and the best places to go. That is exactly what Chelo did. The location of the apartment was as perfect as any where you would stay in Barcelona. The city is pretty spread out and requires metro transportation. Chelo's apartment is within walking distance to the Sagrada Familia (5 min), Las Ramblas (15 min), Triumphant Arch (8 min) and many other areas. The Metro is just a couple blocks away. The area in general is safe (much safer than right off of Las Ramblas). There are several local restaurants within blocks and two great small coffee shops and a bakery just a couple doors down. One night we walked to the Sagrada Familia and had dinner - highly suggest doing this as the church is wonderful lit up at night. We lost a bag during our travels on Iberia from the US to Barcelona. Chelo took the phone number and called the airline. She spent three days tracking our bag down for us, which was a blessing. She even continued to track it down after we checked out of her apartment to go to Prague! I would not have gotten that service in a hotel with the best concierges! Thanks Chelo so much for a pleasant stay. The next time we are in Barcelona, we will definitley come back to your apartment!! Take care..............

Cozy home; very convenient location

This cozy 2-bedroom apartment is located in a great location that is about 15-20 minutes walk to the major tourist attractions in Barcelona, such as Sagrada Familia, Passeig de Gracia (where Casa Batllo and Casa Mila are), Plaza Catalunya, etc. There are also many eateries and supermarkets close by. This apartment is located on the 1st level that can be accessed by stairs and elevator. The owner is very friendly and personally waited for us when we arrived from the airport to welcome us. She also oriented us to the apartment and how to use the various appliances. Overall we had a great first-time visit to Barcelona!

Great Location, Great Host

Chelo was an amazing host. She was very accommodating, even with a later than expected arrival. She also met us upon departure and arrainged for a taxi to take us to the Sants strain station. The location of the unit was excellent. We walked to most locations around the city. For those less mobile, the nearest metro station is very close. We enjoyed strolling around the neighborhood looking for places to eat; Els Tres Sols (coffee/pastries), Casa Amalia (upscale dinner), Kserol (casual Tapas) for great food and incredibly welcoming owners who jokingly presented our Beef Cheek and Mashed Potato's as a Brownie with Cheese Cake; it looked identical. We really enjoyed our stay in Barcelona and will be sure to book with Chelo upon our return.

Perfect location, comfortable stay!

This apartment was exactly what we needed. Centrally located, and far enough away from the hectic touristy streets to ensure a quiet night’s sleep. The neighborhood felt safe at night as well. There are restaurants all over the place, I recommend Viti Taberna just around the corner. It was one of the best places we ate at in Barcelona. Chelo was a fantastic host and was very helpful with the many questions we had. The apartment is as advertised. Although we didn’t cook any food there, the kitchen was well appointed. The beds were quite comfortable, as were the pillows. I’m a bit of a light sleeper and so this is a very important quality to have. I never heard the neighbors moving around, so the walls are soundproof enough. We were about a 15 minute walk to Sagrada Familia, 15 minutes to the Born and Gothic neighborhoods, and maybe a 20 minute walk to the Gracia neighborhood. It was very easy to get around. Overall I felt that this was a great value. And Chelo was terrific. I highly recommend this apartment. We will stay here again when we come to Barcelona next year. Thank you, Chelo!
