Hello Mona, thank you for your visit! We do recommend next time to read before booking. We offered you the upgrade to the cuadruple room before even asking because we did understand that you did not cheked anything about the room or the establishment which btw it is your resposability. All the information and photos are avilable before booking the room. The upgrade was offerd with an extra cost of course as the hostal did not make any mistake and at the moment you booked the economy room we had better double rooms available at a higher price but we really understand you booked the cheapest double room we had. Unfortunately we really feel confused about the fact that you never complaint about the new room that you have seen before moving and paying and you just spend the first night on the room you choosed as we did not had availability to give you another room. We would really apreciate if you could be real to us and tell us your complaint so we can try and fix it because we are 24 hours avialable at the reception for this reason. Have a great day!

It’s a Hostal
No windows in room. Walls like paper-next door neighbor a loud snorer so some rough nights. Staff was good and room relatively clean. Location was good and building seems safe. Bed and pillows were bare minimum. It’s a Hostal so I get it’s got some limitations but if you are asking how it was this is how it was. Coffee was served in reception area, and when it ran out staff just added more water through the same grounds. Photos were a little deceptive, there is no readily available laundry. We were able to do a monitored Covid test over WiFi but I would say the signal is barely enough. Overall the bare minimum for an acceptable stay. I have stayed at Hostals in Espana before by the way. Again, staff was very friendly and helpful but the facility is limiting.

Lovely 5 night stay.
Lovely little hostal (on the cheaper end as we were backpacking Spain). No breakfast as far as I’m aware. Reception on the first floor, open 24 hours. Our room was good, small with a double bed. The bathroom door didn’t shut properly as the frame was broken - but it didn’t particularly matter. Comfortable enough bed with 1 pillow each - a bit squeaky. Hostal is right next door to a shop and there are loads of bakeries etc in the area. All in all a good hostal. Would recommend. Only thing I would say is there is a city tax not included in the price. Most places we’re staying at didn’t have this. Maybe it was a Barcelona thing. Anyway it is written in the small print. Oh and the lift - which is very safe to use, is a little noisy. Could hear it sometimes in our room.

I enjoyed my stay there. The staff was very helpful and accommodating. I plan on returning on a future visit. I had a nice walk to the beach while admiring the architecture of the buildings I passed.

Great location close to attractions. Very friendly and helpful staff. The only negatives were the mattress—you could feel the springs, but it wasn’t too bad—and the tiny elevator.

The Hostal Colkida has character, which is to say it’s not like the cookie cutter hotels that are typical of the U.S. The staff was friendly and helpful! The courtyard was great. It was very comfortable to relax there before bed and to sit and eat breakfast foods we’d purchased at a local supermercat. There is a small elevator, which was a great blessing given two heavier pieces of luggage, which we took up one at a time. The one big drawback was the WiFi. They have WiFi, but it was unreliable.

I was genuinely really impressed with The Coldiki hotel. I was just looking for somewhere to shower and change and grab a few hours sleep on a flying visit and didn’t expect much for the price. My room was huge and modern, fab decor and little balcony too. Service was faultless. Couldn’t recommend more.

As expected, but amazing location
The place is as you would expect for a hostel. Nothing spetacular, but everything is clean and works fine. The best part of this property is the location, which is really close to Casa Battló, Sagrada Familia and other attractions. It is also well connected to the El Prat airport, using the Renfe service R2 Nord.

Not good at all . The beds not comfortable. You can hear everything the water and noises of the next room . Even was surprised that hotels.com charged on us 40 euro and we have already paid all what is due on us so it’s very dangerous to book by credit card .any one can steel us .The man of the reception came and shout on us while checking out was so impolite . Very bad experience

Location is fantastic! Close to public transport, and plenty of restaurants, bars, supermarkets and shops around. Also, they have a cute little terrace just behind reception where you can relax in the evenings. The service was great, very helpful!

Very well-run hostal in a great location. Our room was one of several (4 or 5?) on the 3rd (to Europeans) floor of an older building. The rooms have been completely renovated, and are clean and comfortable, with a neutral modern IKEA-style decor. There's a common kitchen are for all the rooms on the floor, which is very nice. The hostal staff are helpful, and seem to comprehend many languages. There is a large and beautiful back patio on the entrance (mezzanine) level of the hostal. The location could not be better. Carrer Roger de Luria is in the heart of Eixample, but within a ten minute walk of the Barrio Gotico. There are many very pleasant cafes and restaurants in the neigbourhood, which we found much more comfortable and quiet than the Barrio. And the facades of the buildings in the area are stunning modernista masterpieces. The elevator is quaint (and small), but we found that using the stairs helped (a little) to compensate for all the pastry we were consuming in the neighbourhood bakeries. Given Barcelona accommodation prices, Hostal Colkida is a great choice for people who need cleanliness and comfort, but don't want to pay for a 3-star hotel.

Great place
We loved our stay at colkida! It was clean, staff very nice and helpful, speaking good English, location was good and in reach for most of what we wanted to visit. There is also a nice terrace for smokers or to chill. There are a lot of eating places in the neighborhood for all types of budgets, also supermarkets. Plaça catalunya was at 12/15 min away and the aerobus station is there too. The room we had was for 3 persons, we had a window and enough space, small table, not noisy, nice bathroom. I have to say again that the staff was really nice and always and at any hour avalilable to help and in a good mood. There is a small staircase and small elevator but we didn’t have big things to carry so it was good for us. Also at the reception there is a coffee machine where you can buy or make your coffee. Thank you for your hospitality, for sure we will visit you again next time :)

Our room was clean if a bit sparse. That said there was a communal kitchenette for our floor. The stairs were dark and dingy. On the last day the tiny lift was out of service. We thought we would be carting our bags down 4 flights of stairs, however it was fixed in time for us to check out.

The location is excellent. You can walk to la Sagrada Família, Plaça Catalunya. The hostal itself is very basic. Room was sparse, elevator is very old-school. You need to climb a very narrow winding staircase. But they have a pretty courtyard and serve a free light breakfast with coffee and muffins. Overall it’s a great value.?

A Great Barcelona Memory
Had a very comfortable stay here. Hostel is centrally located near 2 metro stations, Girona and Passeig de Gracia making it easy to visit many Barcelona attractions by a short metro ride. Hotel front desk staffs spoke good English and were truly warm and helpful. The triple room was very clean with a nice smell upon check in. Everything was almost perfect except that there was no tea making facilities (kettle & cups) inside the room but they however were kind enough to lend me a kettle when I requested for one. I also love the Spanish sweets (from different parts of Spain) that they served throughout the day near the lobby area made free for all the guests. My family really enjoyed our time in Barcelona thanks to this great accommodation as well.

Perfect location, great staff and little breakfast
We stayed in triple room with husband and 3 years old daughter middle of November for 4 nights. Room was simple but very nice and clean we liked our double bed with was in one part not two singles as in most places, beds were very comfy. Even if in hotel description told do not provide breakfast, every morning you have possibility to have a tee, croissants, little cakes, fruits and you can enjoy your start of the day in hotels terrace which is full with sun in the mornings. Location is very good all amenities are in walking distance - farest max 45min walk. Staff is very friendly and in last day as our plane was just in the evening we could leave our baggage without any charge until evening in hotel. Around lots of restaurant, caffes, minimarkets. Highly recommend this hotel to everyone - nice price, comfy, clean, friendy, good location and peaceful

Pros 1. Friendly staff, always smiling and eager to help. They were fantastic. 2. Clean rooms. 3. Location is good for local transport. Cons 1. Weak AC - not sure if it was working at all. There was no individual control in the room and only one central control for all of the floor in a locked cupboard. 2. No provision of fans - As it was very hot and the AC wasn't making any difference, we requested a table fan, which they didn't have. We could not open the window as it opens directly on the street and it would have been difficult to sleep with the noise. 3. We stayed for 7 days and were given small tubes of soap and shampoo that finished by day 3. These were then not replaced. 4. Mattress was very basic. 5. No provision of kettle, tea, coffee or biscuits in the room. 6. No breakfast provided in the hotel, although there are many cafes near by. 7. Our electronic room keys were unreliable. One evening they had to resort to unscrew the door lock. 8. Overall, I think this was not value for money.

Hotel located in center of city.only 6-7 minutes walk to Catalonia square.Nearly all sightsee sites are within walking distance.There are many cafes and resteruants and supermarkets near the hotel. which make it very convinient for me to buy some food drinks and have a cup of coffee.

Comfortable, central, affordable stay in Barcelona
This hotel was comfortable, clean, and definitely worth the affordable price. The location was great for seeing the beautiful city of Barcelona, and the hotel reception staff was incredibly helpful upon check in- explaining the location of important sites on a map and giving us recommendations for activities and food. Although we did not participate, there was even a free tour of the city offered daily. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone looking for an affordable hotel in Barcelona.

Reasonably priced-centrally located
This is a centrally located, very clean hostel with cafes nearby, and easy base for walking tours of Barcelona. The staff was great-attentive & responsive & English speaking, for any of our inquiries or needs. The rooms were very clean but travelers should understand that the lower cost is a trade for smaller rooms. Everything was there for creature comforts & the smaller size didn't bother us at all, as we use our room as a base, not for lounging. Travellers should take note of its exact location and address-the entrance faces the street but the hotel sign is a little small and set into the façade-the taxi folks had a little difficulty figuring it out! Definitely a great return for the lesser amount charged for this hostel.

This hostal is in a good location. I had a room where you could control your own air conditioning.The room was adequate and very clean,as was the bathroom. Plenty of hot water. Staff very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay again.
