Although a bare bones space - it was in a perfect location for getting around and the room was very clean! A great option if you’re not spending the day in the hotel - which most guests would not be!

Truly a last resort. The property is decrepit, depressing and unappealing. Walls are so thin you can hear every word of your neighbour and the rooms are grim and grey (although clean). Staff are exceedingly rude and dismissive, barely looking up as you say hello. I shudder to think what we paid for the place. Location is good, close to El Born and good dining options.

Great location! Not too far to the beach or Gothic area. Great local Santa Catarina market. Metro & bike rental shop nearby. Lots of eateries. Room was small but clean. No safe. Small old building with character. Has very small elevator. Staff are very nice. Did not try continental breakfast that was available.

I’m one of those travelers that only need a place to lay my head at night and do my hygienic necessities. Although the physical structure is kind of small, this for me was outweighed by the fact that everything in the room and bathroom worked fine, there was an air conditioner that I controlled, and great WiFi in the room. The staff was great, especially allowing me to stay in the same room for an extra day once I changed my travel plans.

This property is located in a good area, but is basically a 3rd floor apartment style small room with no amenities. It is clean, and the bathroom is good. It is priced ok for what it is compared to other properties close by, but we would rather pay an additional $20-30 Euro for more room, a front entrance and some handy amenities.

Great start would definitely book again
The room was just what we thought 2 beds, bath clean and quiet. Location was excellent. Short walk to supermarket restaurants attractions and transportation.

Great location. Too expensive for what it offers. Tiny room w. bathroom was 90 euro a night. Location - awesome. Best breakky place in BCN is 3 m walk HONEST GREENS! What a place!

I travelled with my brother for a short stay. The staff were extremely friendly and open and supportive. Breakfast buffet is available in the nearby Hotel only a few steps away from Hotel Lyon. We couldn't find the actual hotel floor straight away as it is on the third floor of an apartment building. Otherwise, we were happy with it. Cleanliness and friendliness of staff were most important to us. We would book it again.

Rooms are very small and it's noisy and old. I will not be using this property again. For 100 euros per night I would have expected a lot more. The TV was locked on one channel and the volume was locked too. I felt like I was staying in a closet, it was not a good experience. No amenities!! The staff was very helpful and nice though.

THIS HOTEL IS CLOSED - do not book here!
I was already in Barcelona & booked a last-minute extra night at this hotel, which seemed perfect since it was right next to the train station so I could leave early the next day. When I arrived, there was a paper sign posted on the door stating it was closed, and to go to the Hotel Santa Marta next door, which was a part of this hotel chain. I went there & they said it was impossible for me to have booked there because it had been closed for months. This was at 11pm & I still hadn’t eaten dinner. Long story short, they sent me to another hotel. So I had to pay for 2 booking & when I called Hotels.com for a refund & explained, they sent me an email stating they could give me my money back once I received approval from the property. Are they insane? I explained the hotel was closed & that this was impossible, & they insisted it was the only way I could get my money back. I’m livid & disgusted that Hotels.Com has continued selling hotels for a hotel that is closed. They are robbing people. And when I had arrived to the new hotel around 1am, 2 other people were in the same predicament. This is inexcusable. And I doubt I’ll receive my money back. So DO NOT BOOK THIS HOTEL.

The hotel are clean and comfortable for just 1 person, the room and the bathroom are small for more than 1 person. The breakfast is in another hotel at the corner, and was good. The personal was nice. In overall it was a good experience.

Friendly staff. Fast check-in process. Room was small but AC running well and good for 3-4 night stay :) Staff offered to hold our luggage safely after checkout time as our flight wouldnt leave until 7PM. Close to everything in town.

I asked for a quite room and it was. For breakfast you should go to Hotel Santa Marta which is 20 mt from Hotel Lyon but after 1/2 days you get used to it and it's not a big deal. The people at the reception and breakfast place are very nice and helpful.

Good location small room.
The hotel is really well located, just the street to the main entrance smells and is all filled with garbage. The room is smaller than what appears on the photo. Air conditioning worked well and the attention of the workers is good. The hotel is located on a 4th floor anf the elevator only fits on person.

Probably best to find somewhere else
This hotel would have been a perfectly fine place to crash in a great location, but the room we were given was literally 4 feet from the front desk. We could hear conversations, the door buzzer, and various people coming in and out all night long. The air conditioner also seemed to be malfunctioning and would make a loud buzzing noise every five minutes. The combination of these factors made it basically impossible to sleep. Like I said, the location is fantastic and the room whole small was clean and otherwise sufficient, but based on my experience I would never recommend it to anyone.

LOUD EVERYTHING. Good location/clean
The walls are PAPER THIN and the rooms are all crowded together. You will be able to hear every person enter hotel and the conversations they have at reception/in the halls. You can hear your neighboring rooms occupants use the bathroom. There was construction work happening one floor up accompanied by hammering from 9 am until late in the day. Don't know how long that will last. Bathroom and elevator are super small, an overweight petson will have trouble using both. Located in a great part of the city, easy to locate. Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Breakfast is in building next door-not on site.

Good Impression
Perfect location, within short walking distance of beach, local transport and some great tourist sights. Hotel was very clean, very friendly staff and nice to have a balcony. And the lift in hotel is a must to try.

Close to the city center, odd entrance, cool staff
There's no main floor for this hotel since it's in an apartment complex. You have to ring the bell so they could open the gate then you have to take their eccentric but cool elevator. It's small but it's very cool to watch as it descend. The room I got was clean and nice but there wasn't enough room for my luggage. The bathroom is clean. Not sure if it's the hotel or Barcelina but the sheets smelled like smoke. The inside smelled like soap but the outer sheets definitely smelled like smoke.

This hotel is located on the 2nd floor of an old building. There is minimal signage on the street so it is a little hard to find. The staff is helpful and responsive for local area recommendations. There is no breakfast provided or dining area in the hotel.

Slight issue with room but resolved instantly
The room was pretty clean but no air con. We opened the window to get it cooled down and there was a terrible sewage and cigarette smell coming into the room. Went to front desk to ask to swap rooms, there were no rooms left int he hotel so they took us to their sister hotel which was amazing. The staff sorted it out so quickly I didn't have to ask twice even though there was a language barrier. Best customer service I have received in any hotel

Great location
Hotel is average, bathroom and room were clean. The elevator that takes you to the hotel at second floor is small. I want to point out a strong smell of cleaning liquid or washing powder used for washing the sheets or the floor. Located close to Barceloneta beach, 10 minutes walk also not far from famous La Ramblas street. Overall it is a good hotel for what you pay
