This was such a quiet, cozy spot! My son loved watching the fish in the pond. Everything was very clean and comfortable. We would highly recommend staying here.

Getaway weekend

We had a group of four for a wine tasting getaway. Loved the property. The pond and fire pit areas are peaceful. The host left a book with restaurants/attractions nearby. We enjoyed our stay!

Fourth of July

We stayed Friday through Sunday. It was comfortable, very nice, well stocked, beautiful property and great location. Peaceful country location and yet close to lake Michigan and many restaurants and stores within a few miles. Beautiful fire pit area next to the pond that has string lights. Just a very relaxing, comfortable, well maintained and truly nice place!!!

Family vacation

I was blown away by how awesome it was. From the beautiful area to the fan favorite pingpong table we had a blast!! We would 100 percent stay at The Shire again! The hosts are amazing people and very friendly!! Everything was in driving distance which was great. My family had a blast feeding the fish and making s'mores by the campfire.

We spent the night here and loved the place! I wish we could have scheduled a spring or summer weather trip. It’s very peaceful and beautiful. Beds are comfortable and the place is very clean. Mike is quick to reply with questions.

We dashed over to Michigan for a girls wine tasting sleep over. We enjoyed our stay at The Shire. The host was extremely accommodating. The Shire had every amenity that we desired and more...we will be back soon!

Another great stay!

This was our second time staying at The Shire and we enjoyed it very much! Everything was as we remembered- the space is very clean & comfortable and had everything we needed. The location is perfect: quiet and peaceful, yet close to the beach, wineries, breweries, and shopping. We plan to return again!

Anniversary/Fall Getaway

The Shire is absolutely Lovely! Pictures do not do it justice, it’s even more beautiful in person!! The hosts are wonderful and so accommodating! Every detail is top notch, the beds are fabulous and so comfortable we all slept so good! Visited wineries and breweries and ate some great food too and of course had to see the beautiful Lake Michigan and went to Silver beach. We had an amazing stay here and will definitely be back!

Wonderful place to stay

We had a wonderful weekend stay at The Shire! Mike was so welcoming and personable. The property was beautiful and spacious and the house was perfect. Our family of 6 stayed there for a long weekend. The kids loved the basketball court and huge yard to play catch in, the swing overlooking the pond, and the huge and very spacious garage where they played ping pong and bag toss! Thank you for great stay!

Girls trip to the beach

We enjoyed our stay at The Shire. The property is a beautiful and peaceful place to hang out. Coffee on the patio and walking to the vineyard was cool. We enjoyed beach views, shopping in St. Joes, silver beach pizza! A day at silver beach and playing games back at the house! Perfect getaway!!!

Relaxing Retreat

We loved our stay at Mike and Lisa's place. Our son loved feeding the fish and roasting smores at the firepit. The home was clean, beds comfortable and necessities stocked. We did not take advantage of the bonus space, but you could easily sleep another 1-2 people there. Mike welcomed us upon arrival and showed us the house and where things were. The grounds and vineyards beyond were lovely to walk through. Highly recommend if in the area.
