We had an absolutely amazing time at the Country Cottage, we're already trying to organise another stay. Max and Katie's hospitality was the best we've ever experienced, the cottage felt like a home away from home, and the property is stunning. Just a short drive from so many incredible walking trails, waterfalls etc. Do yourself a favour and book this holiday, you'll be so glad you did.
Cottage was very cosy to stay in. Beds were very comfortable and having a fireplace was perfect. Great to be able to cook our own food in the kitchen. So lovely to explore the property and to be greeted by goats and sheep and the view is just beautiful. The owners Max and Katie were amazing hosts and are there if needed. Highly recommend!
If you want a cozy and relaxing weekend the cottage is an excellent place to stay
Beautiful scenery relaxing cottage to stay in. Max and Katie were extremely helpful hosts. Max had the fire going on our arrival, was absolutely lovely coming into the cottage with fire roaring. Best weekend away..will be back
We stayed at Top of the Otways with our 2 dogs. We loved the stay, it is way spacious than what we saw in photos. Very clean, lovely place surrounded bbynature. ..Well.doggies didnt want to come back.
With the delightful hosts, the delightful cottage and wonderful surrounds of The Otways, we couldn’t fault this property. Even my dog was well catered for with the securely fenced grass and garden. Will certainly recommend to family and friends.
It had everything we were looking for. A quiet get away and beautiful views. Dog friendly. Easy reach of the towns of Apollo Bay and Forrest for dog friendly walks with our tenterfield terrior. Great place to rest up.
Amazing stay amongst the best the airways has to offer!
The property had everything we were looking for, peaceful tranquil environment with amazing views of the national park, and so close to all the best that the Otways has to offer. Hosts Max and Katie made us feel welcome as soon as we arrived and couldn’t ask for better hosts as nothing was too much trouble. Would highly recommend for those looking for all of the above and we will definitely stay again. Thanks Max and Katie for tha amazing stay😃👍
Hosts were amazing! The house was very comfy and had everything we could possibly need. The logfire was great on those cold nights and there was so much to see, we couldn't fit everything in. We had such a great stay and would recommend this place to everyone.
The views and animals were perfect to help us relax and forget about our stresses. The accommodations were more than enough, especially the fire place! Max and Katie were so friendly, easy to deal with, and very helpful. All in all, a perfect getaway!!
Perfect for a little getaway. Only 25 mins to Apollo Bay and 15 mins to Forrest. Cottage is wonderful. Comfortable and well equipped. Hosts were great and we loved the location overlooking the valley and being able to feed the goats.
Our host was friendly, warm, happy to help and answer questions, while also giving us space to enjoy the beautiful property. When we arrived the fire was lit & we felt very much at home. Our children especially enjoyed the hands on experience feeding the goats, and seeing the sheep & chickens each day. A very cosy, beautiful, inviting Otway hideaway.
What a wonderful cottage in a beautiful setting, perfect for a weekend getaway or longer. There was a fully enclosed yard for our dog to wander around in and a fantastic fire place that warmed to whole cottage. Not to mention a fully stocked kitchen with tea, coffee, spices and even vegemite. We loved it.
This accomodation has everything going for it for a prefect short getaway from the suburbs of Melbourne. The brewery in Forrest was the perfect stop for a late lunch on the way. We particularly enjoyed the cues. Goats, chickens and sheet. Max was friendly and was there to great us as we arrived. Such a quiet location. We ventured to Stevensons falls which was a highlight of our trip then to Apollo Bay. Both places very accessible and a short drive.
Restful, peaceful, catered well for our little dog (a reason for staying there). Log burner highlight of our stay. Host Max obliging couldn’t do enough for us. Thanks very much Max.
A beautiful cottage stay surrounded by beautiful forests
Max and Katie are absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for your hospitality, for the beautiful cottage stay, and everything else, including an enclosed space for our doggo.
We enjoyed the fireplace, our dog had never seen goats before, so this fascinated him tremendously just looking out and watching them go about their day.
Beautiful stay. Wonderful location. Only half an hour from Apollo Bay. Nice and intimate.
The power went out and straight away they set up a generator so we had hot water and gas. They were super responsive to any questions and consistently kept us in the loop. We will absolutely become a regular.
From arrival we felt comfortable and welcome. The cottage and surrounds were very special. The owners have put a lot of thought into comfort and enjoyment for their guests. After taking in the initial beauty and serenity of the place we entered to find a bucket of feed with which to feed the goats. It is rightly named the ‘Country Cottage’ from the wood fire inside to the blue wrens and goats outside. We absolutely loved it and were sad to leave. We highly recommend this accommodation in the Otways to families and couples. You will not be disappointed.
