Independent hotels in Barrydale, Western Cape

"We had a large apartment, double bed and single bed, that looks ADA equipped. It was just the two of us but that was the only room available. The hotel is essentially in the middle of a small town with a bunch of local stores (including KFC) up and down the street. It seems safe enough to walk around but not much to see. The bird hide was disappointing. Bed was comfortable. Lighting was so-so, not so good mirror for makeup. Shower was good but not enclosed. Didn’t sample the unheated pool but heard kids in there. We decided to eat outside the hotel and had dinner at the Purple Pickle next door and it was good and cheap. Had breakfast at Barn at 62 and that was great! Best avo toast I’ve had. "

"Mont Eco Game Resort is wonderful. From the moment we arrived, to be greeted by African drummers to the moment we left, we were spoiled. The individual lodges are fabulous, with large comfortable rooms. Our guide was brilliant, getting us as close as possible to the animals and explaining everything with great humour. All the meals were included in the price and the food was excellent."
