Little Slice of Heaven!
This is an out-of-the-way, open-air, natural beauty, a private little estate, right on the water. A few of the things we loved about it were being on a secluded beach, the sound of the waves, the cool breezes that rolled through the open windows, watching the stars every night, the reef right in our back yard, the fish and monkeys, pelicans and sandpipers. It seemed like a time warp where the whole world just slowed down. We were there during the off season (October) which we think is the way to go. It's fifteen minutes drive to great restaurants (also on the water - there's a theme developing here...We are already thinking ahead to our next visit to this beautiful gem of a place on the planet.

Absolute Paradise

Beyond disappointed…that I can’t leave 1M stars rating!! PICTURE PERFECT PARADISE!!!
This place is beyond what my limited vocabulary can describe!! The breathtaking views and unparalleled beauty of what we found at Turtle Beach is beyond description. We just returned from 10 days of trying to wrap our heads around our blessing that we found this hidden gem. Of course we took advantage of the Caribbean reefs and wrecks for scuba diving as well as we ventured out on our own to climb up Mount Liamugia in our rented jeep (Bullseye rental deserves, 1 million stars as well for their service and response.) but the most enjoyable part of our trip was being at the cottage…from sitting on one of the many beautiful seating areas around the cottage and gazing upon Nevis to exploring the private expanse of the natural beach to snorkeling on the shallow reefs in Mosquito Bay. Yes, it was Africa hot, but I chose to go in August for my birthday adventure. The Winward tradewinds were glorious and cooled us but when we needed more, the master bedroom was another beautiful place to rest and chill with its charming decor and AC!! Turtle Beach in its natural state was beautiful! Every day was a new canvas for God to display His beautiful work. The seaweed would come and go as as the tides and trade winds changed direction. We were fortunate to have Gert go north but we were prepared to extend our stay to take in more!! We can’t thank our hosts enough for sharing their home with us. We do not need to look any further as we have now found our forever vacation spot.

Best Stay Ever
The online descriptions and information about Turtle Cottage only told a small part of the story. The cottage is so much more magnificent in person. The location was truly paradise. The owners have created a one-of-a-kind home away from home. The is living space is spacious and beautifully decorated with a Caribbean vibe. The bedroom was especially beautiful. We didn't know what to expect with the communal areas that are shared with the Ocean Song and other cottage located just up the hill. It turned out to be a great time to share the beach and bar with like minded traveler. The property manger was extremely helpful and had lots of suggestions on what to do and where to go. When we left St Kitts he took us to the ferry and organized a taxi to take us to the airport in Revis. The owners gave us lots of information before we arrived and were very helpful after we arrive.

Beautiful view
Turtle Beach is about 30 minutes from the airport in St Kitts, but you will need to rent a Jeep, which we did thru Bullseye rental. The road is pretty rough. Other than the bedroom, the cottage is NOT air conditioned, and it gets extremely hot. The water is gorgeous, but the seaweed was pretty awful this week. Also, no dishwasher. The view is incredible, maybe the best on the island. We drove the entire island twice, and we were always excited to get back to our little cottage. Overall, I would recommend this rental as long as you understand that this is an upstairs cottage with a small kitchen area, bathroom and two living areas with no air conditioning (other than the bedroom) and it is HOT. It was fine for us because we stayed outside most of the time. Owners were fantastic.

Incredible view and property!
Perfect for those wanting direct connection to the ocean - the sound of the waves, delightful breezes, warm water swimming and outdoor shaded and sunny spots can’t be beat. Having property to yourself in the morning and after 5 makes it extra nice. The seaweed was about a 3-4 foot strip with lots of sand still available for chairs - no smell and no big deal to me to rake a path thru to the ocean. Stay was heavenly.

The PERFECT Getaway
We found Turtle Beach Cottage through a random advertisement in a local email, and I am SO thankful that we did! It was the absolute perfect getaway. Ricky and Penny provide so much information before even stepping foot on the island, such as restaurants to try, hikes to take, and so much more! The island is BEAUTIFUL, and we may be biased, but we think Turtle Beach is the most beautiful part. The cottage is stunning with breathtaking views and the Property Manager, Yellow, was a pleasure to work with - even teaching my husband how to open a coconut he had found on the beach! The Beach Lounge is the perfect place to spend the day, and the walk to Cockleshell Beach is so easy, and filled with local monkeys! We took Ricky & Penny’s recommendation and visited LobsterFest at Reggae Beach Bar. Definitely a can’t miss! We also loved spending the day sipping drinks at Shipwreck! The only thing I’d change about our trip is to stay longer - 3 nights was not enough! Do yourself a favor and come experience this beautiful island and cottage for yourself!

Jus what we needed
A quiet little haven to ourselves, the beach was only occupied by two other people who were staying in the sister property that is located a little further up, but before 10am andafter5pm the beach was ours. We felt completely at ease to carry out our work from the lookout o paradise, we saw some reviews complain about seaweed, but honestly it did not bother us in the slightest as we came to take in the view from our accommodation and swim in the beautiful sea, we feel this place is perfect for a couple who seek serenity in seclusion and enjoy a bit of a relaxed adventure. Read the helpful handbook Ricky put together as it has great tips.

The Perfect Vacation Getaway!
We absolutely loved this house! The home was comfortable and the view was unbeatable. It really is right on the ocean! There were plenty of water toys, towels and all the things you could want at a beach house. The honor bar was a really nice addition, too, although we didn't take advantage of it while we were there. The owners and property manager were responsive and easy to work with. Even working with us when our flight home was cancelled due to Hurricane Ian. A great home and a great vacation!

Beautiful piece of paradise!
Wow this property has the most stunning photogenic views! We had an amazing week here, our boys loved snorkelling & swimming, the wildlife provides a lot of entertainment, from turtles to crabs to monkeys we loved watching them all. The property is well managed, the one problem we had (caused by a turtle on the beach!) was fixed with super speed! Good basics in the kitchen which people had left, oil, sauces as well as eggs, bread & water provided initially at the start of our stay. You will need to stock up on the first day or have a car to get to the supermarket in Basseterre regularly as there are no shops nearby. Overall just amazing location, wildlife & beautiful views are well worth the visit!

We have resident turtles who keep coming back to lay their eggs under the cottage every year which can be challenging! Quite and relaxing
Our stay at Turtle Beach Cottage was wonderful. It is on the South Peninsula away from all the resorts and crowds. The property was well maintained and even though others have use of the downstairs from 10-5, we never saw a soul. Our only complaints are really something the owner has no control over (1) the road to the house is brutal even in a Jeep and (2) the seaweed has completely covered the beach. It would be impossible to keep it raked. We were told this is true of the whole island and will hopefully subside with changing ocean conditions. Our only recommendation to the owner is to purchase another air conditioner for the living/kitchen area. It is impossible to stay upstairs during the summer days. We were relegated to the bedroom to get relief from the heat. Downstairs is nice because of the breeze but at dusk the bugs were terrible so we found ourselves between a rock and a hard place. If the upstairs living was air conditioned you could still enjoy the view without the bugs. Even so, we throughly enjoyed the quite and peace that this cottage offers.

Susan thank you so much for your review. Yes, the Sargassum seaweed can come and go during various times of the year throughout the entire Caribbean and east coast of Mexico. We're lucky that Cockleshell Beach is nearby and the currents keep that beach almost weed free. St Kitts can get humid in the summer so your suggestion for a 2nd air conditioner in the upper living rooms is a good idea! Thank you. Though the upstairs living area is fully screened with 2 ceiling fans to catch the ocean breeze year round and keep the area free of bugs. Hope you can come visit again! We'd love to host you.

Great cottage! Details in every aspect top notch! Many little "sitting places" perfect for reading or watching the birds and surf. I finished 3 books! Short beach walk to the cove where there are a few beach bars and food. Penny always responded quickly and happily on any questions we had setting up our stay. Richard and Penny supply a very informative paper covering almost everything imaginable to prepare and engage while there! Franklyn (on site) was absolutely superb in being available, recommending, setting up, and assisting in anything we needed. We loved the place, its people, and the stay!

Quiet cottage right on the beach.
Apartment above your own private bar on a beach rarely frequented by others. The apartment is well furnished with a bathroom and large air conditioned bedroom. Lots of outside seating. The kitchen is downstairs in the bar.

Honeymoon in a Caribbean Paradise!
I cannot say enough about our stay at the Turtle Beach Cottage! Let me start with our hosts Penny and Ricky. Our transition into paradise was the smoothest and made possible by these two, as they were always there if we had questions or needed anything. They are hands down the nicest people and made us feel right at home. As we arrived to the house Ricky was waiting there to greet us. He gave us a tour of our little place we’d call home for the next week. The place is breathtaking.. you’re literally living the unbelievable Caribbean shots you see advertised all on your own private property. The waters are blue, the breeze coming in off the the Atlantic is relaxing, the views should be on a post card, and the sea life is active! As we waded the waters on our first night we ended up guiding cute baby turtles back into the sea. The snorkeling right off our beach is everything you’d ask for. Beautiful reefs, exotic fish, and we even encountered a couple sting rays. All of this compliments the beautiful place we chose to spend our 7 night honeymoon vacation. The home is immaculate. French doors throughout the residence invite the cool breeze and views in that make for the perfect morning cup of joe. My wife and I could not have found a better spot to spend our honeymoon. Peaceful retreat
The property is located directly on the beach at Turtle Beach. The check-in was easy and efficient. Ricky (the owner) and staff are friendly and very helpful. Though not new, the property is clean and well kept...the views from the balconies are to die for! The beach is lovely for walking and there are some bars/restaurants a short walk away at Cockleshell Beach. However, if you want to explore the island, you will definitely need a car (easy to hire at Basseterre airport). In essence, for a peaceful getaway the property is perfect.

Pictures Are "Not" Worth A Thousand Words or Money Spent on Rental Property
At 5:15 pm on Monday when I called Franklin to let him know we were on the way his Quote was "JESUS CHRIST" like it was a problem that we were coming, this time frame did not suit his schedule. When we got there he stated I was supposed to have eggs and juice but he would bring them by the next day. The next day when he came by he was informed that the cell phone did not work, his statement was I had a smart phone so I was too smart to use a simple phone. Three days later he came by to show me how the phone worked and he could not make it work so he decided it was broke. For the rest of my visit I had to use my phone to make local calls . On that same day he used the toilet downstairs not checking to see that the valve was closed on the toilet which caused the holding tank to run out of water which left us with no water for about five hours. We flagged a car down on the roadway in front of the house and found out from Greg (your family member) that the engineer at the Gov't Water supply was called and that water would be restored in another hour or so. Now to the house: roof is leaking water into the living area near the bathroom where the plant stand is located; floor boards are water damaged and peeling upward throughout the house; outside decking boards are rotting near the outside laundry room and in front of the house; the shower curtain was filthy with mold and mildew; linens were old and worn out; need to purchase new bath towels and WASH CLOTHS; freezer door fell off and needs to be fixed; house needs to be power washed; and the seagrass was three feet deep and five feet wide on the beach, could not get into the ocean. Your beach toys need to be housed in a storage shed, but are left out in the weather. Your property manager must be outsourcing the cleaning process and not following up with inspecting your property. All he is concerned with is making money off the rental incumbents with his soliciting of "tour" operations. The entire property needs to be updated because this is not a five star property! The best thing about St. Kitts and Nevis was the monkey population and your view from the house of Nevis. This property should be taken off all web sites until it has been upgraded and CLEANED.!!!

Dear Becky, My husband and I understand that you did not like the island of St Kitts nor it’s people. It is also very unfortunate that you were unaware when traveling in the height of hurricane season it can be extremely hot and humid in the Caribbean thus making you uncomfortable and unhappy on your vacation. I am absolutely not making excuses for the points that you have brought to our attention. We sent our housekeeper to clean for you and you turned her away telling her "you did not need cleaning service" but yet you post an unfair review telling us that our cottage needs cleaning. I am confused about this. Our bedsheets and towels were purchased in May 2019 from Pottery Barn and Bed Bath & Beyond so I do not understand why you say they need replacing. (The housekeepers do use old cut up towels for cleaning rags) which apparently you found in the cupboard and were using for face cloths. During the hurricane season we can get torrential rain and our beloved beach cottage can sometimes leak in these down pours. Tropical storm "Karen" brought in huge amounts of sargassum seaweed which is completely out of our control. We try our best to hand rake the beach in front of our beach cottage. We are not a hotel resort with machine grooming equipment. The local cell phone we provide our guests did break down and we did replace it with a new phone as promised. Government water did run out and was back in service the same evening. I was in constant communication with you from your first day. You did not inform us about the majority of these issues during your stay. That you choose to tell us AFTER you left St Kitts is not fair but we very much appreciate your feedback so we can make sure our future guests do not encounter the same. We stongly believe vacation time is very precious therefore had we'd been made aware that you were so unhappy we would have worked with you to find alternate accommodation. Adventurous vacation
We had a very nice stay last week at turtle beach cottage. The cottage itself is very comfortable and the views are amazing. The owners were very responsive to needs that arose and we were very thankful for that. The snorkeling at the property was great. The only real downer on the trip was the amount of seaweed on our beach(the guy that cleans the beach said a huge amount came in a couple days before we got there). this is obviously not the fault of the owners, we just got A little unlucky in that regard. It did mostly clear out on our last day which was nice. We would definitely come back again in the future.

The Most Amazing Beachfront Location!! Simply Breathtaking!
We wanted a private beautiful Caribbean beachfront villa and found so much more. The pictures on the VRBO site are EXACTLY what it looked like in person to include both the villa, the beach, and the ocean views! We WILL come back!! A great local property manager and groundskeeper complimented our stay. Contact with the owner could not have been better and they provided an outstanding information package with great info. Just can't say enough about how happy we were with our entire experience!

Relaxing ,fun , and views out of this world.
When we chose to rent Richard and Pennie cottage we were hoping it wasnt just another photo fix. We have rented a vacation home in past and it wasn’t as it was on line. But this cottage is what it is displayed as on line. It is a beautiful place and a very relaxing stay. It was everything we wanted and more for our island experience . Richard and Pennie were the nicest people . They went beyond to make sure we had a true island experience . We will be back to stay again. The people on st Kitts was very kind and the food was great. Everything we done while there was backed by the helpfulness of the island People . Loved everything about our trip to the turtle beach cottage . Thanks Richard and Pennie .

Nature at it’s best!
Our vacation at the Nature Lovers Beach Cottage sure lived up to it’s title! We felt like we were living right on top of the ocean! The sounds of the sea lulled us to sleep at night with the cool ocean breezes. The kingsize bed, pillows and linens were extremely comfortable. The cottage was sparkling clean with 2 living rooms and a balcony right over the beach! The upstairs was very private with our own sundeck, lounge chairs and a table for two to enjoy breakfast amongst the palm trees! Watching the pelicans dive for fish kept us entertained for hours and that view! We can’t wait to return! Thanks Penny & Ricky for being such awesome hosts.

Amazing trip!
I can't emphasize enough how amazing this rental cottage is. I could not stop staring at the view of Nevis and the ocean. We spent a lovely week at the Turtle Beach Cottage. Sunrises from the front deck were spectacular. We discovered the best time to snorkel was early in the morning, when the manta rays and sea turtles were patrolling the reef. We also saw a squid and octopus, which were really fascinating. We cooked breakfast and some dinners at the cottage, which worked out well. We mostly went out for lunches at the various restaurants recommended by the owners. We loved walking to Reggae Beach Bar. The lobster dinner on Friday was fantastic. We loved the island. We found it easy to navigate with good infrastructure, signage, etc. We spend one day driving around, went to Romney Manor and the Fortress. Mostly though, we spent some time at the local beaches and quite a bit of time relaxing on the sundeck and looking at the view. The cottage was beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable. We would go back here in a minute!

Fantastic location just metres from the sea and great views overlooking Nevis. Whilst we were there, St Kitts was quite windy which kept the house cool which was great. Seas a bit choppy though so snorkerling a bit limited.

Hard to find the words
When I found the listing for this property, I was really quite mesmerized. I had been searching for where to go and this property decided that. I just had to see it! I shared some of it with my husband before arriving, but I always like to leave some bits as a surprise - and surprised he was. When we arrived, Ricky gave us a tour of the property and my husband was so blown away, he found it hard to listen. I knew he would find the honor bar to be a special treat as he always enjoys those as we travel. To have "his own" honor bar was just too much! We didn't have any visitors to the bar area during our time there but he was prepared to bartend if needed! :-) The property is relaxing, lovely, charming, clever, whimsical, and full of heart. I found it difficult to do anything but sit and enjoy. If you have a chance to stay here - do! It is truly special!

Exceptionally Excellent Experience
The cottage exceeded our greatest expectations. The interior is like Chip and Joanna Gains of HGTV's Fixer Upper does Oceanside. It is perfect. The decks are great for sunrises, sunbathing, and the magnificent views. There are lots of great restaurants close by. There are tons of things on the island to do. Our favorite: zip lining, it was a blast! The owners are a known family with generations on the island. When making reservations, we were asked where we were staying. All we had to say was the owners' first names. Everyone knows them. These owners designed and built the cottage, they take great pride in it, and it shows. This cottage is on the cover of the tourism's association visitor guide! Overall, this rental is six stars.

Beautiful property, so well designed. Views are every bit as awesome as the pictures. Very relaxing
Upstairs apartment has plenty of room inside and out, with incredible views and porches for relaxing. A blow-up bed for our little one to sleep in air conditioned comfort was helpful for hot August days, but there is a comfy daybed for cooler nights! Downstairs bar and fully equipped kitchen is awesome. All the lounge chairs, play toys and towels ready to go for a great beach vacation. We were very pleased. Definitely check out Salt Plage-our favorite new place-went there 3 times!

The perfect self-catering choice
The cottage is delightful and has every facility needed and more. The ambiance is wonderful, with "arty" things all around, mainly marine, showing much flair and love of the property. So much is provided (snorkelling equipment, kayak, you name it!) and Franklyn is available to advise etc. Penny's guidance notes are comprehensive and helpful and she responds immediately to any query. The location is excellent, close to beaches, restaurants of every grade, the car ferry to Nevis etc - and Base Terre (which we loved: unspoilt Caribbean!) is only 20 minutes away. The only (hopefully short term) downside is the horrible sargassum weed which is affecting the whole Caribbean area and which makes using the beach at the cottage difficult, if unpleasant. but there are other clear and pleasant beaches around the corner, so not a major problem. Without the weed you wouldn't want to go anywhere else - a magic place to stay!

Absolutely Wonderful!!!
This beach cottage on Turtle Bay is fantastic! Wonderful views of Nevis, ocean breezes, your own private beach and prime snorkeling just steps away. Penny and Ricky have provided everything you need for a relaxing and fun stay. The honor bar downstairs was a welcome and unexpected surprise. There is also a full, well stocked kitchen. The cottage is very well equipped and very tastefully decorated with all sorts of interesting artifacts. This is a more secluded part of the island so you will want to rent a car. Every morning provided a magnificent sunrise, viewed from the deck and the beach below. We found many colorful seashells etc. on our strolls up and down the beach All-in-all, you will not be disappointed with this beach cottage...just bring you swimsuits and sandals... and kick back. Reggae restaurant is a short walk away (Friday night is their lobster fest!!)and is fantastic... and there are many other great restaurants nearby. Penny provided many good recommendations and you won't be disappointed with any of them. We spent the days exploring the island and returned to this little slice of paradise to relax, have a few cocktails, and then head out for dinner. Definitely check out Salt Plage, just up the road, for the best sunset on the island!! You can hit up the strip of restaurants on the beach at Frigate Bay for good local eats...great for lunch. Brimstone Hill Fortress on the north end of the island is a must see!

This beach cottage is paradise!
Just 30 minutes from the city and airport. Lots of comfortable sitting spaces to enjoy the spectacular views. A good kitchen downstairs to make meals that can be enjoyed at the tables in several locations.Great restaurants just around the corner within 5 minutes driving. A perfect place for total R & R, reading, walking up and down the beach, watching others out front kite boarding in the rolling surf.. Beach is ungroomed but not a deterrent. The French doors upstairs and down make you feel like you have been outside all day. The waves rolling in at night put you gently to sleep. No A/C necessary in late April. Just a lovely place to enjoy your week away from it all. Very helpful, friendly and unobtrusive owners. Thank you Ricky and Penny for a memorable week. We'll return for two weeks next time.

Fantastic beach cottage for a perfect family holiday
We had a fantastic stay in st kitts staying at turtle beach. We cannot recommend it enough. The kids loved being directly on the beach, there lots of water sports equipment so plenty for them to do; including snorkeling. As it was low season most of the time we had the beach to ourselves. It had everything we needed for a really comfortable stay, including two well equipped kitchens and a bar. The hosts were great and were very helpful including finding us alternative accommodation in the face of Hurricane Irma. We loved St Kitts and Nevis and would definitely go back, as it has still a traditional Caribbean feel and especially this part of the island is very beautiful. We cannot recommend this place enough for a very relaxed holiday.

Perfect paradise. Secluded. Private. Clean. We will be back!
Franklin, the caretaker, was the best. Always on time, went extra mile, he knows everything, everywhere and everybody. White perfect secluded beach that we got married on! We were alone on the beach the majority of the time. Walked to Regaee beach 4 out of 5 days. Beautiful views of Nevis. Cottage was clean and just as pictured. The owners information and suggestions were great. Also, used her reerrals for the wedding which were perfect. Will be back!! Would give 10 stars if could.

BEST vacation of our lives! 3rd time's a charm!
We've visited St. Kitts many times, but this stay was our best. It was all because of the beach cottage. The location is better than we've ever experienced. We've stayed in other properties on the island, and this one FAR EXCEEDED all the others. The ocean breeze was felt in every room. Nights enjoying the crashing waves and twinkling star filled sky, charming monkeys, and a beautiful private beach all to ourselves. The snorkeling on Turtle Beach is one of the best. We liked it so much, we are considering renting the Pereira's larger villa up the hill for our mother's 60th next year. The ocean front cottage is gorgeously decorated, the perfect Caribbean getaway. The owners were very gracious and helpful through the entire process, they made us feel at home and very special. The bedroom was VERY comfortable as well. We will be back MANY MANY times! Thank you Penny! ;-) (if you have a larger group, we'd highly recommend the owner's other property. It is a villa just up the hill, with breathtaking views. We met the folks staying there, and they invited us to dinner. The Portuguese grandmother made the most delicious homemade Portuguese meal. The villa was stunning. Very spacious, beautifully appointed, and views grander than any I have seen...from every room! We'd highly recommend both properties!)

It just Magical!!!
I think my husband and I have stayed at this gorgeous home 5 or 6 times now. We have already booked the dates for our trip next year 2018! There's no way you can stay here and not be totally happy! Its such a magical place. You will have everything you need and be surrounded by the most beautiful beach and nature. Franklin is the caretaker of this lovely spot and he is one of our favorite things about the island. His daily visits sweet personality and knowledge of the island and the house is top notch. He can fix anything and he always does it with a smile. We feel like the Pereira family and Franklin are more than friends...they are family. I hope I never know when the last time I am staying in this house...it is truly amazing!

Amazing Cottage and Location
Turtle Beach Cottage was an amazing place to stay. We very rarely saw anyone on the beach, and spent hours beach combing, snorkeling or sunbathing on the sun deck. The many decks/balconies offer fantastic views of Nevis and we spent most evening sipping drinks, watching pelicans fish and enjoying the sound of the ocean. The peace and tranquility offered by the cottage was incredible, and meant that we had the most relaxing holiday. We did hire a car for the week we were in St Kitts & Nevis and used it to explore both islands. However, Turtle Beach Cottage was definitely the highlight. Penny was extremely easy to deal with, and all communications were dealt with in quick, friendly and professional manner. Franklin was the perfect host and popped by every day to offer any help or advice. We have already recommended Turtle Beach Cottage to a number of our friends in the UK.

quaint secluded relaxing and beautiful
My wife and I really enjoyed our stay at Turtle Beach cottage. We were thrilled to watch the sun rise each morning with a perfect view of Nevis. At dusk each evening when the twinkle of lights lit up the horizon it was almost like a small light show. Penny and Rick had every type of beach "toy" you could want. However, I was there to relax and do research for my next book. The only thing disappointing was the amount of seaweed on the beach but toward the end of the week a man was there cleaning that up. The beach is a biggie for my wife. Overall the cottage was great, the beach less so. But would I go back...definitely.

What a great experience at Turtle Beach Cottage. The atmosphere and views of Nevis were breathtaking and everyone we met was great. Great snorkeling right out front and monkeys in the back yard. Very secluded. Perfect for a honeymoon or anniversary. We'll be back.

From the moment we walked onto the property of Turtle Beach Cottage, we knew it was PERFECT!
From the very first email I sent to Penny, I knew it was going to be a perfect vacation. She answered all my questions (I had many!) promptly, and the cottage is even better in person than in the photos if you can believe that. The attention to detail in decorating, cleanliness, location and amenities could not be any better. The seaweed is not an issue unless you do not appreciate nature, in which case a hotel may be a better fit for you. We snorkeled and swam EVERYDAY for hours at a time. We saw two different types of rays, lobsters, and an array of beautiful fish in and around the reef directly in front of the cottage. I awoke to five monkeys in the trees on our last morning; what a treat that was! The cottage is like a nature preserve. It's amazing. It's very safe, but remote and peaceful at the same time. Having said that, nothing on St. Kitts is "far" away. If you go, do follow Penny's suggestions as to places to stop/visit, including on Nevis. She knows of what she speaks. We were thrilled at all the suggestions, especially Lobsterfest at Reggae Beach, Salt Plage for sunset and Spice Mill for pizza lunch. Aside from the view, the breeze in the open air cottage, and the color of the water....Franklyn was the delight of the trip. He gave us the "scoop" of the cottage when we arrived and stopped by everyday thereafter to see if we needed anything. One morning he stayed for coffee, and we got to learn more about life on St. Kitts and Nevis. He is a neat person whom you will enjoy meeting. We did our own thing, but he is there to assist with anything you may need. We will be back for SURE. We have loved out visits to Hawaii over the years, but St. Kitts is a very special place made even more so by Penny and Franklyn of Turtle Beach Cottage. Enjoy!! :-)

A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the warm waters of Caribbean!
This is a great private, secluded and comfortable place to relax. Located on the southern tip of the island of St Kitts, it is off the tourist parade of Frigate Bay - the crowds, the noise and the traffic. We loved the quiet evenings on the deck with a glass of wine and the surf on the shore below us. The Spice Mill Restaurant and the Pavilion Restaurant are beyond compare and close to the cottage. A sunset drink at Salt Plage reminds you why you came to the Caribbean. We will return and recommend it highly to those who want to relax and enjoy the quiet of being on your own private beach.
