ST KITTS 'Turtle Nest' At Turtle Beach, A Comfortable Two Bedroom Apartment
Located on the beautiful Southeast Peninsula of St Kitts, Turtle Nest Apartment is the perfect Caribbean getaway for the non-fussy traveler looking for basic and comfortable accommodation.
The views from the veranda of Nevis and the Caribbean sea are simply spectacular. The apartment is just a few steps from Turtle Beach, a quiet sandy beach which has excellent snorkeling over the coral reefs.
Turtle Beach is not a groomed beach and often has seaweed. When calm it has one of the best reefs on St Kitts accessible by land. We live in a very quiet residential area and our beach does not attract cruise ships. Often you may only see a handful of other people on this unspoiled natural beach.
A 20 minute walk or 5 minute drive will lead you to Reggae Beach Bar & Grill at Cockleshell Bay. Here you can enjoy complimentary beach chairs and umbrellas. Water Taxis and private boat charters to Nevis are also available to hire from Reggae Beach. Cockleshell Bay Beach is home to Spice Mill Restaurant and the Park Hyatt Resort is located at Banana Bay Beach close by.
Other beaches that are great to explore and enjoy on the peninsula include Banana Bay, Majors Bay, Sandy Bank Bay and South Friar's Bay. Frigate Bay is a 15 minute drive away where you will find The St Kitts Marriott Resort and Casino, as well as a variety of restaurants, shops, health spa, fitness center and an18 hole championship golf course.
Whether you are planning a family holiday, a break with friends, a honeymoon or just want to escape with the ones you love, we look forward to welcoming you!

The property had magnificent sunrises
Short drive the beaches and restaurants
Very quiet development
Very close to the water taxi to Nevis
It’s for the travelers who like to get out and explore 😎👍👍
If you are planning on visiting St Kitts & want a quiet location with wonderful views, stay here! From the start, the communication was wonderful - from the directions, to the pages of information covering restaurant suggestions to beach suggestions to so many other things, we were so well informed before even arriving. The on-site property manager called us when they had a tropical storm roll through so we had up-to-date warnings. Also, the official “make the guests welcome” cat made our stay homey. The apartment was just perfect!
Finally a relaxing vacation. The place overlooks a beautiful bay at the quiet end of the island. Had a great time swimming and grabbing food down at the Reggae Beach Bar.
It’s a small island so it was only 15 minutes drive to grab groceries or to be surrounded by more people.
Good times.
We loved our stay at Turtle Nest. The property had everything we needed and was spacious and well maintained. The location provided absolute privacy and quiet evenings. The host was wonderful. She met us on day one and gave us great advice on where to dine and relax. We didn't have to leave the pinninsula to have a great time and enjoy fantastic food and beaches. Reggae Beach Bar is nearby and is a place we could easlily have spent the entire week.
High on a hill with a beautiful view of Turtle Bay. Very relaxing there and so so quiet. Our host Michelle was on top of everything. The house had everything you would need to start off with. Very clean and the beds were so comfortable. We traveled to several beaches that were close by and the water taxi to Nevis was five minutes down the road. Make sure you go over there to the Sunshine Bar. The beach is gorgeous there also. We had a wonderful time in St.Kitts and at Turtle Nest.

Turtle Nest 2019
Another relaxing vacation at Turtle Nest In which we enjoyed the walking distance to the beaches and the restaurants and, most importantly, the outstanding views of Nevis and Booby Island.
If you are looking for the best quiet , relaxed place to stay in St Kitts. This is it! Having a local house manager (Michele) that can help you with any local places and activities including Nevis is worth the $$ in house chef. The owners are also locals.
Great stay. The Turtle Nest unit is accurately described in the description. It was very clean and nice, but is not a “fancy” accommodation. It has everything you need and nothing you don’t. Kitchen was well equipped and we cooked most of our meals. Location is excellent if you want a quiet, private stay. Spectacular views and walking distance to beach. Short drive to several beautifully maintained beaches. Excellent communication and responsiveness from owners. 5-star rating and would definitely stay here again.

Secluded with Great Views of Nevis
The apartment was clean and modern with everything we could ask for. One of the selling points is the view of Nevis from the patio. In February, it was always breezy, but this kept us cool. If you like seclusion, this is the place for you. There are maybe a dozen other homes for neighbors with a few beaches, bars, and restaurants not too far away. You may want to plan for a max of two days of travel to the northern part of the island. Because my son was taking scuba lessons, we traveled north four or five times which got to be a bit much. The trip is 25 minutes to Basseterre. The owner's Reggae Beach Bar is a great hangout and be sure not to miss Salt Plage at sunset.

Great place to stay in Turtle Beach
At the outset this property seemed to good to be true, great price for a 1st floor fully furnished 2 bedroom apt with ocean view so I did some more inquires and put down a deposit.
Now we're home and wishing we were still in St. Kitts. The property was what was expected and too many positives to list.
Bottom line if you want a 2 bedroom, 2 bath rental and don't mind the drive to the southern end of the island away from all the hustle and bustle of the cruise ship crowds, then this place is for you.
Full kitchen was very helpful along with the washer and dryer and AC in the bedrooms.
Owners of the property (Gary and Mary) were amazing as were their pets; we already miss the company of the black and white cat (forgot its name) and their little dog Gidget.
Only negative was the dirt road travel as the road hadn't been graded in some time. You will need a rental car as calling a taxi for going to town for meals or shopping will get expensive unless you plan on eating all your meals in.
St. Kitts is a great place to vacation and this property is as advertised; probably can't ask for anything better for the price.
I’m former travel agent for 25 years & we have traveled all over the Caribbean. St Kitt’s has by far been the absolute best island ever!! So easy to navigate, amazing restaurant options & the beaches are awesome!!
Turtle Nest Apt was also one of the best we’ve ever stayed in. Very spacious & clean! Comfy beds and the floors weren’t a sandy mess. Loved having a few island essentials in the refrigerator when we arrived: bottled water, fresh bread, eggs. Ziggy the cat was always awaiting our return every evening & meowed at the door first thing in the morning. We loved having him around.
Loved the ease in communication. Our trip had to be unexpectedly rescheduled last minute from June to end of July & they were flexible in allowing us to change our dates. Which this was very much appreciated!
I’ve already recommended this apartment to many of my friends & we will be back!!
And, Reggae Beach was amazing & very close - highly recommend LobsterFest on Friday nights! By far the best beach was Salt Plage (it’s “closed”) but it was recommended by some Ross Vet Students & we went 3 days. Security Guard just advised to cleanup after ourselves & enjoy. No facilities here but beautiful dock to enjoy under the palm trees, snorkeling was amazing & the have yolo boards that you can use & put back. Sunset here was beautiful.
Rush slowly & enjoy St Kitt’s like we did!
We really enjoyed our week at Turtle Nest. There is a resident cat, Ziggy, a real sweetheart who will move in with you for the week if you let him. We're cat people, so Ziggy really made us feel at home. The owners of the property leave food under the sink that you can feed him if you want to encourage him to hang around. Otherwise, this is a charming well-equipped suite. It's cozy but very comfortable and quiet. It's not newly renovated but is nicely furnished and decorated, and very quiet except for the sound of the ocean. The windows are all screened so can be left open for a nice cross breeze. We never turned the AC on. There is a large deck that runs the length of the suite which has great views and very comfy lounge chairs. Turtle Bay is a two minute walk down the hill. It can be quite rough when the wind is up, but it's still possible to swim near the shore, and there is a decent snorkeling reef out past the remains of the wooden dock that's accessible on calmer days. And yes, there are turtles. As others have mentioned, the beach is not groomed and there's a fair bit of sargassum build-up, so it's a not a beach you walk to feel your toes in the sand. You can walk in about twenty minutes via a short-cut path to Reggae Beach, which is more sheltered for swimming and has water sports and activities - and two good restaurants, Reggae Beach Bar, and Spice Mill. The path starts at the east end of Turtle Bay beach. There are signs pointing into the foliage, which is a little thick at first but soon opens up to a dirt road going right into the Reggae Beach Bar parking area. We found Turtle Nest to be a great value for the money. We'd come from a week on Nevis at a much more expensive villa, and thought it might be a bit of a come down, but we were very pleasantly surprised and would happily go back. I deducted one star for 'Location' only because the dirt road from the highway is very rough in places. Just go slowly, which is good advice for any Caribbean holiday.
The host Michelle was fabulous to work with. Upon late arrival there were starter meals, toiletries, beach towels, cooler for packing lunch, and other items we requested after arrival. She would ask everyday if we needed anything. The balcony is great for the view and chilling during evening dinners with a nice breeze. In July weather is consistence 82 F daytime and 74 F in the evening, with short rain periods here and there. Reggae Beach is a few minutes away with decent snorkeling along the left side of the rocks. Reggae also includes restaurant, shower, rest rooms, and water sports. It is worth a taking the Islander water taxi ($25/person round trip) to Nevis also for snorkeling and a very good meal at Lime on the beach. To the right of the Lime restaurant is a rock pile in the water where we has some of the best snorkeling during our trip. The host also provide many suggestions for activities to do on the island as we like to move around a lot and not just lay on the beach.
The Turtle Nest is situated in the best location on the island of St. Kitts with the most amazing view. We were able to walk to several different beaches, the Reggae Bar restaurant and the water taxi. The hosts provided us with great recommendations and information. There was no delay in having any questions answered. The verandah was our favorite spot. We sat out there for hours enjoying the view and the sea breeze. Ziggy the house cat came by to visit us everyday. The rental had everything that we could have possibly needed during our stay including beach chairs, a boogie board and a washer and dryer. Plenty of sunscreen, bug spray and toiletries were available for use as well. I would definitely stay here again and have already recommended the Turtle Nest to several friends. Thanks to our hosts for this wonderful rental. We will be back!
We had an amazing time. It was especially nice to go doen to reggae beach and have the staff be so accommodating and nice to us. Having the beach chairs available wad also key!! Overall great location.
Dynamic weather! ... Sun soaked looking over the Atlantic! (Rough and Rugged) …... Wow so beautiful! ... Nature... Peaceful and remote!!! Lots of little cute monkeys around here. This unit is quite spacious (more than I thought: electrical/ water/shower(s) … all solid!) and has a beautiful long deck to enjoy views of the ocean and Nevis in the distance, not to mention the stars at night… I’m so comfortable here! The Clouds, (Atmospheric Systems rolling in off the ocean) the ‘Stars’ ... Spectacular!!!!!!!... ‘Love you Venus’... So beautiful here, and so are the PEOPLE!! My God such natural beauty! … I LOVE this part of St. Kitts. I was lucky enough to experience a few late-night heavy rainfalls... very dramatic and comforting to be able to walk the length ‘back and forth’ of the expansive deck, peering through the coconut trees and across the ocean... Shelter! ……. Walk and run for miles (any day you care/ safe!) … ‘Reggae Beach Bar’ is located rather close by through secret pathway off the beach (which is perhaps 2 minutes from the front door) …. Truly the ‘best of people’ and the food is excellent!!! (Ribs/Lobster… Wow!) After several weeks here on this side of this island I finally learned how to use my front door key, …. Can you say this where you live??????? I doubt it! (Unnecessary, and only just to learn!... Ha!!! Safe!). Not bad indeed!!!! This Family is great … I needed to pound out some Conch for cooking … sent a ‘portal message’ and received a hammer within the hour (Thanks Ava!). I will be back! A magnificent escape from the rest of the world!
Our stay @ Turtle Nest was just lovely!! Penny (as well as the whole family) were superb hosts!! They went above & beyond & really made our stay one to remember!!
It is off the beaten path, so renting a car would be ideal. However, we didn’t have one & Penny helped us out in a pinch!!
Cockleshell Bay (beside Reggae Beach bar) is superb!! And we were treated like royalty @ Reggae Beach bar whenever we went - the property owners own the bar. Special shoutout to Ken - for consistently going above & beyond.
Really enjoyed our stay!! Thank you again to Gary, Mary, Penny (& Ava).

This was our first visit to St. Kitt's. This was a good choice for a first place stay. Upside- clean, comfortable (my wife loved the sheets and bed), fantastic view.
Downsides- access road is lousy, driveway is 'interesting' to say the least; No lights from driveway up stairs to property. Other than Reggae Beach, Hyatt and Spice Mill, it's at least 15 minutes to anything and usually more like half an hour. Don't even think about not renting a car if you stay here. Minor point- housekeeping showed up half hour early on checkout day- not helpful. Overall a good choice
vegetation overgrown spoiling the view, and making it hard to exit ones vehicle Site not exactly what we would consider clean especially the showers. Netflix was a plus, Air Conditioner in master bedroom on but not cooling
