The Iron Lady; Gorgeous Historic Home

The Iron Lady - Bath, Maine. Hosted by Of Sea and Pine, Maine Vacation Rentals.

Named "The Iron Lady" to honor its proximity to the Kennebec River and Bath Iron Works (a working shipyard that was established in 1826), this spacious family-friendly apartment, built in 1901, is located just 10-min walking distance from Bath's quaint downtown. We purchased this home in May 2022. As local Bath residents and Maine natives, we have enjoyed, and will continue to work diligently, to bring this beautiful home to its fullest potential. The Iron Lady is divided into two units - Unit 1 is the gorgeous and newly renovated apartment where you will stay (2nd and 3rd floors), and Unit 2 is rented by our long-term tenant. Enjoy the elevated and tranquil vibe of Unit 1 - beautifully laid out, fully equipped and stylishly decorated.

The apartment was clean and welcoming upon arrival. Decor is a presented. Loved the attention to limited plastic use. Great well stocked kitchen, plentiful towels, laundry powder provided and back up toiletries if needed. Felt very comfortable. It is about 1 block up from the BIW which is a big employer in the area. Interesting town to check out and the Reid State Park was amazing.

Lovely retreat in Bath!

We had a lovely stay at this cozy, fully updated old home in Bath. The place has a ton of character, exposed old brick chimneys and wooden beams complement the modern look, complete with ductless heat pumps for each room and a gorgeous kitchen and dining area. The stairs to the main level are steep, and the upper level with two bedrooms has a quirky but charming sloped ceiling that makes the entry interesting. It was all part of the charm for us. Everything in the house is thoughtfully appointed and carefully arranged so it was easy to find anything we needed, from a light switch to the right pots and pans for cooking a delicious lobster dinner. Downtown Bath is cute, with some great restaurants and a very nice brewery. All in all, it was an amazing escape to a charming home in a fantastic location along coastal Maine!
