"First, the positives: location is perfect for a Portland visit. Easy walking distance to downtown and the harbor. Not far from the interstate. The staff was courteous and helpful when asked, and the property was clean and felt almost new. The negatives: for nearly mid-four figures a night there need to be more amenities. The in-room coffee was Motel 6 grade, and the breakfast as well. On our last morning, for whatever reason, the breakfast buffet, already rather skimpy, was missing many key items — no yogurt, no fresh fruit — and this not even midway through the service. As far as housekeeping goes, we stayed three nights, were away from the room most of each day, but our room was never made up. We did finally ask for some fresh towels and a resupply of tissues, and we are low-impact guests who really don’t need our bed made every day, but I was surprised that there wasn’t even an effort, or at least advance notice that we’d have to ask for housekeeping despite seeing them active in our corridors each day as we departed. I sensed that either the property was having trouble filling staff positions, or maybe they were being squeezed by their corporate overlords. In sum, for that much money I expected a little more, some extra touches that would elevate the experience beyond the basics."

"This was our second time staying at this home on Peaks Island, and we loved it just as much as the first time! It really is the perfect place for our family to get away and relax. The pictures don't fully capture just how beautiful the property and views are. It's even better in person!The house has everything you need for a comfortable stay. The kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, and everything needed to make meals at home. We picked up groceries in Portland to stock the fridge for the week and then grabbed anything else we needed at the little market on the island. The market has a nice selection of essentials, and the staff couldn't be friendlier.I also have to mention the primary bedroom because the bed is probably one of the most comfortable beds I've ever slept in! The updated primary bathroom is absolutely beautiful, too.Communication with the host was great, and everything about our stay was easy and enjoyable.One tip for anyone visiting Peaks Island is to do a little research on the ferry schedules and peak versus off-peak travel, especially if you're planning to spend time in Portland or bring a car over to the island. A little planning ahead makes getting around much easier.We absolutely love Peaks Island, and this house makes the experience even better. It's such a peaceful, beautiful place to spend time with family. We had another wonderful stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back for a third visit. Highly recommend both the home and the host!"

"We rented the 4 bedroom apartment in the attic. The air was on but no heat and it was a bit cold. There was barely any staff but the were nice. The master bathroom was barely usable. One sink did not work. The tub was missing a handle for the hot water. And the shower would not produce hot water. There were a ton of beds. 11 total beds some were king, twins, queen and fulls. Older mattresses so not real soft and cozy. Plenty of room plus a living room. Sky lights let in light but t felt claustrophobic as there were no windows. Also only street parking which was a bit difficult and no elevator."

"The condo was perfect, very clean. It looked brand new inside. The condo was so convenient since it is walking distance from the ferry and the small market located in the parking lot where the ferry comes in.The owner, Ed was very easy to communicate with, even with silly questions. I brought towels, paper towels, toilet paper and other things that weren't necessary. Even though it says they have towels, etc. I brought them with just in case, but didn't need to. Overall, our experience was excellent.Thank you Ed for allowing us to experience your beautiful home."
