Iola, I’m sorry that you felt you could not stay. I believe it’s possible that you mistook the high humidity levels we have here in July being just 300 feet from the ocean. This year alone we have had several hundred people stay in that room both before and after your stay and not one complaint of mold. In fact, in my entire 18 years of owning the inn we have never had a complaint of mold. We were happy to refund half of your money because we were able to rent the room for the 2nd night of your stay, again with no complaints.

Thank you Debra for staying with us. We try to supply everything but we really don't have enough room to have an area for young children. When we bought the inn in 2001 children 12 & up were allowed. We decided to take kids of all ages with the understanding that we are not really set-up for kids. We are considering going to kids age 5 and older for the reason you mentioned.

Thanks Lana for the kind words. I am blessed to have such a wonderful staff and I will let them know that you too appreciate them. They work so hard!! I understand your disappointment with Bay Head's beach policy however a large part of the reason our beaches are so clean is that there is no food waste nor birds harassing beach-goers for food. I've seen it before on other beaches where birds come right up to you when you're eating and won't leave you alone. It is an inconvenience but it has worked well for the town. Thank you Gary for the kind words. Unfortunately it's true that some booking sites don't display our rooms accurately and they try to pose as the inn when you call. Booking a room with a shared bath should be obvious... it is when going direct. Hope to see you again someday.

Thank you for the kind words. I'm sorry you didn't have better pressure in the shower. We are in the process of replacing shower heads in our spring cleaning (the property has excellent water pressure so the shower head must have been partially clogged). Our antique TVs with built in VCR are not due for replacement this year as we are a seasonal inn and the vast majority of guests enjoy the old VCR movies (a blast from the past) and really spend most of their time outdoors. We will eventually put in some larger flat screen TVs, just not a priority now. I like to mention to my reviewers that you'll have much more impact by telling management of your experience during your stay. I could have replaced that shower head immediately.

Thanks for commenting. We have older TV's with built in VCR and video library available and are still enjoyed as a "blast from the past" which is kind of fitting with being an old inn. We are so seasonal that the cost of big screen TV's the issue of fitting them into our rooms is quite a challenge. Breakfast is from 8:30am to 10am and works well for most folks.

Thank you for your comments. We pride ourselves on the authenticity of the inn. It was built in the late 1800's and we try to preserve the experience as much as possible while incorporating modern conveniences. One thing that never gets old here is "clean".
