Blackbeard's Lodge

"The people that run the lodge were so helpful! We were going to be later coming in and had to leave early the next morning so we weren’t going to be able to visit the shops and I was really disappointed because I wanted an Ocracoke souvenir - the wonderful woman working that day arranged for someone from a local shop to work with me to choose a coffee cup via text pictures and the coffee cup was delivered to our room and was waiting for us when we arrived- just amazing personal service!!! The lodge was so cute and quaint and there were even real keys to open the hotel room door! So charming! Would stay here again!"

"We had a wonderful stay at Compass. It’s a beautiful property with awesome views of the marina. You can easily walk to the waterfront and enjoy the restaurants, shops and waterfront there. We will definitely be back again."

"The outlets in the loft only work if the light is on so you are unable to use the fan/charge phones etc. unless the lights are on. I would recommend bringing a battery powered fan it can get quite hot up there at night even with the AC on. Overall good experience!"

"This property was wonderful!! We hope to make it a yearly trip. Peaceful and quiet and only 45 min to Beaufort! We saw dolphins, pelicans, blue herons, crabs and caught a few fish! Couldn’t have been better. The Laudermilks were great hosts and have thought of everything to make the vacation home perfect!"

"The Lucky Buc was exactly what we hoped it would be. Clean, well maintained, off the beaten path. We were there during the nor’easter, couldn’t get off the island. Russell stayed in constant contact with us during the extra days so we could continue to enjoy our stay. Rent the golf cart you’ll be glad you did. Highly recommend this bungalow and these owners. They are good people."
