"The motel was very nice, all that I needed. They could have got all fives but they did make a mistake on my billing that could have been very costly if I hadn't have caught it, and the breakfast was all carbs and sweets. Good coffee though."

"Everything was great. Being right on the lake with a nice fire pit was just what we wanted. The full kitchen along with the grill were a nice help so we could bring and make our own food rather than relying on going out for every meal. 100% recommend"

"The beds are comfortable, the living room set up is great. The refrigerator was clean except the water purifier pitcher has mold- we did not use. The shower curtain liner was covered with soap scum but I think that should be changed every visit. The kitchen chairs need a good cleaning and the pots, pans, utensils need to be gone over. Found a lot of food debris- there is not a dish washer and guests do not wash the dishes thoroughly. We did not use the drying rack as it is rusty and dirty. I washed all the eating utensils and any pan we used prior to using. The location is great. The grill was readily available. The fire pit was VERY nice even though we did not use. The outside patio and stairs probably need to be power washed- a lot of mold. Stairs are not bad except last 3 have no hand railing which makes the difficult. The washer dryer in basement was a huge help. We washed the bathroom rugs the first day as they were obviously used a lot. The rugs in the house were a tripping hazard- they are not stuck to the floor and slip easily. They were well used and needed washing. Several of us tripped more than once. The comforters are not washed between visits. In general the accommodations are nice but a good thorough cleaning was definitely needed. The host was very good. I did not complain or notify her because I think it’s probably just the way it is. Again the location is excellent and the living room set up great."

"This home on Houghton Lake is AMAZING! Our entire family (18 people) had THE best time. It's very spacious, lots of sitting areas inside and outside, games and specular views! I HIGHLY recommend this home to make memories that will last a lifetime! We will be back!"

"It was a nice, cozy cottage / cabin in the woods. It had everything you need and it was clean. Quiet and peaceful. We seen deer, a jack rabbit and chipmunks running around in the back chasing each other and collecting acorns. Made some s'mores at the fire at night. Plenty of wood. South Higgins Lake State Park is 5 minutes away and so is Marl Lake State hiking trail. The owner / host was very nice. My wife and kids enjoyed this place. We will be back next year."
