Family farm visit
Perfect location to stay while we visited the family farm. It was quiet and quaint, but I wouldn’t recommend it for families with small children, as there were lots of farm animal trinkets that would be too enticing to little ones. I also missed my dishwasher.

Grandma’s Farmhouse was scenically located and thoughtfully prepared for our arrival. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We were surprised to find that the three bedrooms were separated, not by walls and doors, but by curtains. Be prepared to have all nightly noises communicated to whomever else you are staying with. All told, the accommodations were clean and comfortable, the host was communicative, and the property was better than we hoped for. Thank you!

Grandma’s Farmhouse was a great place to unwind. The rooms were spacious. Nice ceiling height. The kitchen was well apportioned. Virtually no traffic interrupted the peace of our stay We enjoyed wild turkeys parading through to check out the Cornhole game. Close to Red River Gorge, we were able to tour mornings and rest at the farm in the afternoon.

Clean, quaint home in quiet location
The place was very color& homey & comfortable. I would say the only possible drawback would be it’s location-and that’s only if you are more town oriented. It is WAY out in the country. Beautiful country and very private, end-of-road spot. But it takes half an hour to drive to town. Didn’t bother us. We had a fine time.

Originally my husband and I booked Grandma’s Farmhouse because it was close to the area where my husband’s grandparents lived, his grandfather was a Reverend at the Long Shoal Community Church, and both were buried in Buck Creech Cemetery. My husband had been to the church when he was very young, but didn’t remember where the cemetery or the church were located. We were gone about 3 to 4 hours each day searching for any information we could find. But it was so nice to be able to come back, sit in the lawn chairs while having a gentle breeze, and listen to the birds talking to each other. My Mom is 87 years old and walks with a cane or walker. She ventured out to look at flowers, trees, the old buildings, and took a leisurely nap in a lawn chair under a shade tree. She did quite well! The inside of the house is decorated so nice! The couch, chairs, beds, etc., were very comfortable and clean! Having dishes and appliances to use, an over abundance of towels and cleaning products (both personal and for picking up grass, wiping down the counter tops, etc.) available, and the warm comfortable feeling when inside the house all contributed to our stay there as being one of the best places so far!

Grandma's Farmhouse was a great place for my family of three and our dog to stay. Angie's property is very clean, and she has thought of everything you need to feel at home, from a fully stocked kitchen to board games. My dog and I enjoyed exploring the property while the rest of the family climbed nearby. Highly recommend!

Great location
Really nice place located on top of the mountain at the end of a dead end road so extremely private and an awesome place to see the stars at night.. definitely no light pollution. Close to Beattyville, Natural Bridge and Red River Gorge. Angie was a great hostess, easy to communicate with and extremely helpful. Couldn't have asked for a better visit. Will definitely book again.

Wonderful getaway property
This really is a great property for a nice getaway. It is very nicely furnished with most everything you will need. Lots of land to explore and the grounds around the property are very well-maintained. Excellent communication with the owners, easy check-in and -out process. There were no unpleasant surprises or misrepresentations between the photos/ listing and the actual property. You truly are away from it all, including no wi-fi and very limited television reception. At times we could not pull in any channels, but again, we knew that was a possibility going in, so that really wasn't an issue. That and no dishwasher are about the only things that were "inconvenient", which in the grand scheme is overshadowed by the beauty and condition of this wonderful property. Would definitely recommend and come back again.

Charming little gem outside of Red River Gorge
Grandma's Farm House ended up being a clean, charming little gem on our family's trip north to eastern Kentucky following four nights in the Gatlinburg TN area. First, I have to mention the welcoming email from Angie a week prior. It was nice to receive an early hello and an overview of the check-in process and local events in the area well before we left. It set the welcoming tone for the entire trip and even after we checked in, Angie was immediately responsive to any questions we had. Finding the property was not an issue, per the WAZE app, and we found the house as well as we could have hoped, well stocked, and clean. Honestly, for a home open to dogs, and we brought our two with us, the house was remarkably clean. The property was also very well kept, the grass was cut prior to our arrival, and we found it within a half hour of most of the Red River Gorge trails that we intended to explore. The house and rooms were perfect for a family of four with 2 dogs. There were no issues with any of the appliances and we found the kitchen suitable for cooking breakfast and dinner on several of the days along with the charcoal grill outside. Overall, the peace and quiet were exactly what we were looking for and the secluded feeling at night around the fire was incredible. If there was any downside throughout the entire stay, it was that it was approximately 20-25 minutes to the nearest grocery store and the one stormy night we had we found the television channels limited. That said, it was an outdoor intended vacation, Grandma's Farm House was very cozy, Red River Gorge is beautiful, and we would definitely recommend the property to anyone looking for a little seclusion in the area!

Excellent Getaway!
Grandma's Farmhouse is a gem! What an awesome place to get away and enjoy the peace and quiet from a front-porch rocking chair. The farmhouse sits at the end of a gravel road on a large piece of mostly-wooded private property and is completely secluded! The house is very clean, well appointed, charming, and fully stocked with essentials for your stay... probably the most well-stocked accommodations I've had anywhere. The location is pretty great; 20-30 minute drive to both Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge, all on fun windy roads. Everything about Grandma's Farmhouse is impressive, and I would recommend this to anyone looking for a getaway in eastern Kentucky. Our group very much enjoyed our long weekend there!

We had a great couple of days at Grandma's farmhouse. So much personality. My wife and I had teen girls with us and they loved exploring and making mini-films using the building as a backdrop. They didn't have one complaint about the lack of wi-fi. The kitchen and bath were well-stocked, and it was very close to the Muir Valley climbing area and Slade attractions that we were there to visit. Angie goes out of her way to ensure all was perfect.

Great quiet peaceful location
As you will see in all the reviews the property is clean, with lots of amenities and Angie is beyond helpful. We used the fire-pit; played numerous 'corn-hole' games - who knew there was a technique to this! Enjoyed the front porch in the morning and then the blanket of stars at night. You will want to be stocked up on groceries etc to minimize having to run out anywhere to get supplies. Two items to note: One: There is no wifi and very little cell signal (ATT had 1 bar, T-Mobile had 2). Perfect for the adults! Just the decompression I needed. However the tween and teen went through 24 hours of withdrawals ;-) before adjusting to the analog days! ;-) Two: There are no doors between any of the bedrooms, and the entry to the stairs to the 2nd floor bedrooms is in the master bedroom. Fine for a family but something to be aware of for a group. We really enjoyed our time, the blissful peace and quiet and look forward to returning!

Great Time on the Fram
This was a wonderful, better than advertised getaway. The property was very clean, well organized, and quiet. It had amazing stars and a wonderful ambiance for us and our 3 kids. It was away from any other property and the farm space allowed for hiking and exploring without leaving the home. The owner emailed us to check in, offered any assistance, and had the space ready for us. All around, one of the finest as-listed properties I've rented on VRBO! Especially if you're looking for a quiet get-away space in the Red River Gorge area of Kentucky.

My husband, son, 2 dogs & I stayed Christmas week 2020. We thoroughly enjoyed this spotless renovated farmhouse. Equipped kitchen, extremely comfortable furniture & beds, plenty of towels & many extras provided. We were greeted by turkeys, enjoyed walking property, hiking & touring area. From the wreaths on the doors, the multiple beautifully decorated Christmas trees inside, warm fire & beautiful 4" fluffy snow on Christmas Eve Day we had a picture perfect week! Angie was a very accommodating hostess.

My family spent 4 restful days at the Grandma's Farmhouse property in Beattyville, KY. Cozy farmhouse that was exceptionally clean and well kept, nestled in the hills on 125 rolling, wooded acres. Gorgeous views of the skys and plenty of wildlife. Peaceful, quiet, and serene. A short drive to the various natural attractions in the area. We enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property.

We had a terrific stay at Grandma's Farmhouse. The house was immaculate and had everything we needed. We felt very safe and comfortable. The property is absolutely gorgeous. We used the fire pit every night and enjoyed being outside with no sounds except the birds and the wind in the trees. Angie could not have been nicer. She had everything exactly as she said she would and was wonderful to work with. We highly recommend this house for a quiet country getaway.

Isolated retreat to get away from it all and relax
The house has virtually every amenity you'd need, including a/c. There's a bags/cornhole set to spend some time outside. There are a few board games and DVD's if you'd rather be indoors. Please note there is only one bathroom (on the first floor), and that the stairs from the second floor go into the first floor bedroom. This wasn't a concern for the two of us, but may be something to consider if you're going with a group. There's also a fire pit and (charcoal) grill. The location is very remote. I didn't realize just how remote it was until we got there and took a long, winding one lane paved road and then a gravel road to the end to find the house. That suited me just fine. You really only heard the chirping of the birds during the day and frogs at night. To top it off, you could see so many stars (even the Milky Way)! The flip-side is that getting to Lexington, a grocery store, or Red River Gorge takes a little bit longer. But to me it's worth it. P.S. Given its location, I'd recommend you stock up on enough groceries just prior to arrival to last your stay. And in regards to the kitchen, it's pretty well stocked from a utensil/pans/etc standpoint. The owner was very quick to respond to any questions we had and did a great job anticipating our needs. All in all, I'd stay here again.

We were extremely happy with every aspect about this property. The house was the perfect vacation home, and it was everything we had hoped for. It was clean, well-stocked, and quiet. The drive north for hiking at the stunning Red River Gorge was just right. The drive south into town for groceries, pharmacy, and farmer's market was also just right. Excellent place to get away from it all!
Just came back from our stay this week at Grandma's Farmhouse and enjoyed it immensely! It is a beautifully restored farmhouse on a quiet, expansive and scenic property - close to Red River Gorge and Natural Bridge State Park. The house is clean and very well stocked. Definitely an excellent place to get away from it all! Angie, the owner, was excellent to work with and we hope to return again soon!

It was an amazing experience! The house was super clean! We had everything that we needed to cook/bake at home. So we enjoyed our time with friends. Our dogs also enjoyed their time outside. We (5 adults, 1 kid, 2 dogs) felt like home! We will stay there again for sure!

We had an excellent stay at Grandma’s farmhouse. It was one of the cleanest, most well stocked properties. Everything smelled clean and the towels/sheets were soft. The beds were comfy and warm, the bathroom amenities were excellent and we could actually make meals in the well stocked kitchen!! And Plenty of space to hang out with friends. Check in process was great, Angie was willing to accommodate requests, was very informative and had great communication. It was our first trip with the pups and she was so welcoming. Truly an honor to stay in a place with such tremendous family history. Will definitely be back and hope to explore the property this time!!! Thank you!!

Grandma's Farm House was Perfect!
This was a perfect stay for me to get away from being connected to my phone and the internet. It is a beautiful property and incredibly quiet. If you cannot tolerate quiet, do not rent here. If you are craving time off the grid for a few days to be by yourself or with loved ones, this place is perfect! The owners have paid attention to many details, such as a firepit, a fully equipped kitchen, spa products in the bathroom, and gas fireplace. I very much enjoyed my stay.

Adorable and impecable farm house
We could have not been happier and more comfortable staying there. Angie was beyond amazing and kind. Check in was so easy and our stay so pleasant. There is nothing that I would change except for the extremely hot temperatures for late September! Oh well... maybe we will just need to come back soon and enjoy it in Fall or Winter :-) The place was so clean, well maintained and organized. It really felt great to be there. Our dog loved running around early AM in the fields and running in and out of the woods. We took some long-ish morning walks right when the sun came up that gave our days the PERFECT start. We went out to dinner one night, which was nice but if I come back I would just plan on doing all my meals at home. Definitely would recommend to others looking for a quiet simple and pleasant getaway. Thank you so much, Angie! We were very happy and had a beautiful weekend away from our city life.
