The Gîte du Pigeonnier is first and foremost a family story. Fanny, the owner, inherited this farm from her grandparents. It's the family home where she spent her early years. A farmer, this vibrant and energetic young woman embarked on renovating part of the building to create a gîte, which she opened in 2023. With a view of the famous dovecote, from which the owners, in the Middle Ages, released pigeons to deliver their messages (only slightly slower than social media...), you'll enjoy the open countryside and the many activities and attractions near this magical place. Ideally located, you'll be 9km from Muret (Aqualudia water park, train station, restaurants, shops, seminar room, market, and the ViaGarona hiking trail) and Saint-Sulpice-sur-Lèze (a very pretty village), 11km from Venerque-Le Vernet (canoe rentals), 14km from Auterive (Auterive Adventures treetop adventure park), and a 30-minute drive from one of France's most scenic detours: Rieux-Volvestre. You'll also be on the edge of the Ariège department: the artists' village of Carla-Bayle is 31km away, the Mas d'Azil cave is 43km away, and Foix is 60km away. Two-story cottage: - Ground floor: veranda (fitness equipment), living/dining room, kitchen, games room, bedroom (1 double bed 160*200cm), sleeping alcove (extra bed 140*190cm), and shower room/WC. - First floor: mezzanine, 3 bedrooms each with 3 double beds 140*190cm, and bathroom/WC. Heating, electricity, and hot water are provided by solar energy. The garden is open-air and can be used as a café in good weather. Petanque balls, bicycles, badminton rackets, and a volleyball net are available. An additional bedroom is available for up to 10 people for an extra €90 per weekend. Authentic family home in the Lèze valley, 30km south of Toulouse, in the countryside, surrounded by cows, chickens and quails
