The gate @ Beechworth

The Gatehouse is a significant heritage listed building set among the Mayday Hills gardens in Beechworth. It is a fine example of a two storey Italianate architectural design built in the 1860s. The Gatehouse is located within a picturesque and extensive parkland of mature exotic and native trees and is the first building located on the beautiful oak lined driveway at the entrance to Mayday Hills.

Great value group accommodation in beautiful Beechworth, north-east Victoria

Accommodation for up to 18 guests in 6 guest rooms that feature either single, double or queen beds. Facilities feature a fully-equipped kitchen and laundry, living room with Austar, enclosed outdoor area and secure storage for bicycles and other personal equipment. The Gatehouse also has off-street parking for guests.

The tariff for The Gatehouse is $110 per room per night with a minimum of 2 rooms.

A great property for a big group

My family of adult children plus my elderly parents stayed at the Gatehouse over the Easter long weekend and had a great time. Having 6 large bedrooms was perfect for a big group and Christine was excellent to deal with.

Family 60th celebration

Very relaxing place to stay. Warm and family friendly for all ages. Very easy to manage large numbers sharing the spaces, but also enough room for quiet time. No worries about "precious" things needing constant vigilance. Lots to do in the town and the immediate area around the Gatehouse. Fabulous walks. Highly recommended!

Family celebration getaway

Thank you Christine. The house was plenty big enough for all of us. We enjoyed the tennis courts. Lake Sambell was a hit both afternoons we were there. Gorgeous township and look forward to coming to your area again.

Wonderful holiday house

This property suited our multi-generational family holiday perfectly - the location was lovely, the kids loved the accessibility to the bike path, basketball and tennis court, walks etc. Easy walk to and from town, historically interesting home, and our hosts were lovely. Thank you Christine.

Family and friends getaway

We needed some time to enjoy with family and friends following the hectic schedules leading into the Christmas holidays and found the perfect place at The Gatehouse, Beechworth. The booking process was easy and the lodging was very cozy, clean and comfortable. The surroundings and the town captivated us where there was a sense of adventure and mystique.

Great location for our family xmas with plenty of beds & bathrooms for our group of 8 adults and 6 kids. Could use some modernising and an extra living space would have been great when the weather turned wet and everyone was stuck inside. Good value overall.

Excellent group accommodation Close to the centre of Beechworth

Excellent group accommodation for our party of 8 adults with great and secure bike storage. A quiet location but still close to all that Beechworth has to offer. Perfectly suited to our weekend of cycling with pubs close by and a comfortable lounge room for the post-ride banter. Clean and comfortable. Thank you!

The Gate House

We had an amazing long weekend in the beautiful historic Gate House. A wonderful accommodation for large groups with plenty of amenities. The house has enough space that you are not on top of each other. The bedrooms are cosy, the kitchen, lounge and outdoors are fantastic. Friends’ birthday celebration

We had a great stay. The place was exactly as described. Very comfortable for 8 of us. Check in and communication were fabulous. One friend left some clothes behind and they were sent through. Could not have been more helpful.

We had a great experience staying at the gatehouse during new year's eve 2023. This is a very spacious and well-maintained property with a big backyard. Kids were playing throughout the day. Bed arrangements were perfect for a family of 1-2 kids. all other amenities are available. Christine is a wonderful owner who responds to the queries on time. Wonderful venue for a larger group!

The property was well set up for a larger group (there were 16 of us). Great location, reasonable cost, easy to find and park and excellent communication from the host. We would certainly stay at the Gatehouse again!
