The Space
Your fall getaway at Shanty Creek is ready. This renovated ground-level condo sleeps 4 and comes with a resort pass, so you get pool access, the Lake Bellaire beach, and the sport court. It's five minutes from city centre Bellaire and fifteen from Torch Lake, with peak colour running roughly October 8 to 23.
This is not your average resort condo. It was designed with intention from floor to ceiling: custom tile work on the fireplace, layered textiles, curated art, and a calming navy and warm-wood palette. The living area centers on the electric fireplace and a mounted smart TV, with natural light coming in through the windows. The kitchenette covers the morning routine and the late-night snack: Keurig, microwave, mini fridge, and prep space. The full bathroom has a custom-tiled walk-in shower and a wide vanity built for two.
WHY GUESTS LOVE IT: FALL
🍁 Colour from the resort. Shanty Creek sits in the hills above Lake Bellaire, so you're surrounded by fall colour before you even start the car.
⛳ Autumn golf on property. Cooler temps, quieter tee sheets, and five courses to choose from while the season lasts. Fees apply, so book tee times ahead.
🏊 Resort pass included. After a cold afternoon on the trail, the pool is right there.
🔥 Fireplace nights. The custom-tiled fireplace is the centrepiece of the room, and fall is when it earns its keep.
🚴 Glacial Hills Pathway a short drive away. 30+ miles of trail through hardwood ridges, at their best when the leaves turn.
🍺 Short's Brewing five minutes out. Autumn releases on tap in city centre Bellaire, with a town worth walking afterwards.
🌊 Torch Lake colour drive. The east shore in October is some of the best scenery in northern Michigan.

Guest Access:
Feel at home with full access to the condo — private bedroom, equipped kitchen area, living area, and full bathroom. You'll receive a unique keyless access code 72 hours before your arrival date.
The Area:
Shanty Creek sits in the heart of Antrim County in northern Michigan — one of the most scenically and recreationally rich corners of the Lower Peninsula. The resort itself is 5,500 acres, so there's no shortage of space. But what's around it is just as strong.
DOWNTOWN BELLAIRE — 5 MINUTES
A genuine northern Michigan small town with local shops, restaurants, and one of Michigan's best craft breweries. Short's Brewing is the anchor, but the city centre strip has everything you need for a relaxed evening out. The Grass River Natural Area is just outside town — one of the most quietly impressive nature preserves in the region, with a floating boardwalk trail through wetlands and old-growth forest.
TORCH LAKE — 15 MINUTES
Named one of the top ten most beautiful lakes in the world by National Geographic. Electric blue water, white sand sandbars, and a sandbar scene in summer that draws visitors from across the Midwest. Easy to spend an entire day on the water and still feel like you barely scratched the surface. In every season, worth the fifteen-minute drive.
CHAIN OF LAKES — 15 TO 20 MINUTES
Elk Lake, Clam Lake, Torch Lake, Lake Bellaire, Intermediate Lake, and Grass Lake — all connected. Some of the best boating, kayaking, and paddleboarding in northern Michigan, with Torch at the southern end as the crown jewel.
GLACIAL HILLS TRAIL SYSTEM — 10 MINUTES
Over 32 miles of single track trail through the hills of Antrim County. Mountain bikers, trail runners, and hikers come from across Michigan specifically for Glacial Hills. The terrain is genuine — not groomed flat paths — and the views from the ridges are the kind guests mention in their reviews.
GRASS RIVER NATURAL AREA — 10 MINUTES
A 1,350-acre natural area with floating boardwalk trails through cedar swamps, beaver ponds, and wetland habitat. One of the most peaceful walks in northern Michigan and a legitimate wildlife corridor — great birding in every season.
ELK RAPIDS — 20 MINUTES
A small harbour town on Lake Michigan's Grand Traverse Bay. Worth the drive in summer for the beach, the marina, and the dining along the water.
After booking, you'll receive access to the One Destination Properties Guest Boarding Pass — your curated guide to the best dining, activities, and local favourites in northern Michigan, updated every season.
Getting Around:
We've put together a digital Guest Boarding Pass with our favourite dining, bars, hiking, golf, and activities across northern Michigan — you'll receive access after booking. Resort amenities are walkable from the condo. City centre Bellaire is five minutes. Torch Lake is fifteen. A car is recommended for exploring the Chain of Lakes region and surrounding area.

Had a hard time finding the condo, but was newly updated and many amenities, very well done!
This studio works well due to the nice living room great for watching weekend football games. Close to golf courses, restaurants. View from room is very nice across from a golf course Bathroom is beautiful, newly remodeled. I would stay here again.
Everything about this property was easy. Checkout was very much like a hotel and very simple. Room was clean and comfortable. Shower was amazing (and accessible!!!)! Would stay again.

Property was clean, and photos accurately describe the unit. Pre arrival communication was good. Pass card for pool is easy to use. unit is small but very well use of space, small storage cabinet was thoughtfully filled with items you may need during your stay. I would recommend this property. It should be noted that (2) restaurants are within walking distance, but not that close. and the members only beach association is not walkable - it is a short drive. GPS will take you to the first road, which leads you to a one-way, you have to go back out and to the next road to get to the unit parking lot. Parking was challenging when arriving back later at night. we found a spot but it was difficult to back out of in the morning with limited space.
Great location, easy access to the room upon parking, and the listing was accurate. The room was very clean, cute, and up-to-date. I stayed for a work conference, so my time in the room was limited, but everything was satisfactory. The host was easy to communicate with. My only suggestion would be to add a lock or chain restraint from the interior, as the only lock on the door was the key code that was accessible from the exterior, without a deadbolt or other means of security while inside, specifically at night. The only area that I did not rate 5 star is the pool facilities, as it was closed for the season and therefore I didn’t access it, so I cannot form an opinion. Overall, I would recommend this listing for anyone visiting the area, whether it be for work or for leisure. It is within walkable distance, if preferred, to Shanty Creek’s other lodging accommodations and conference center, as it is less than a 1-minute drive to the general parking lot.
The stay was great. The room had everything you’d need and then some. It was nice to have access to the pool/hot tub and the beach within the resort. The proximity to local lakes and Traverse City were a plus. Being a lower-level condo came with hearing the upstairs neighbors but the provided sound machine helped and it wasn’t too bad. Overall would stay again if in the area!
