It is a 5 star hotel. It did not have several things. The price was very good. It lacked staff due to being there in November, low season. Not a hotel I would recommend. It was more like a 3 star hotel.

Pros: The included breakfast was great. Location is good. The hotel arranged a reasonable taxi rate back to Tirana. Cons: Thebasic rooms are very small. The front desk staff was not friendly. We asked multiple times and different days about tours advertised in the lobby and never received an answer. Realize you will need to pay extra for access to the pool and spa. The hotel itself isn’t finished either. You will get a 3 star experience here.

El hotel parece un monumento, muy recomendable
El hotel está ubicado en un muy buen lugar. Tranquilo, sin ruidos y a pocos minutos caminando del puente nuevo. Las habitaciones son amplias, las camas son muy cómodas. El desayuno buffet lo sirven de 7 a 10 y es variado. Una mención especial a Fiona, que trabaja en el "Front Desk" del hotel, ayudó en todo momento con una excelente actitud de servicio. Por cierto, el hotel se puede ver desde el Castillo y desde otros puntos de la ciudad debido a su peculiar construcción. Parece un monumento. En menos de un año contará con una piscina al aire libre. Muy recomendable si vas a Berat. Gracias!

disappointing spa facilities
Room was lovely (junior suite) but the grounds needed some TLC. Looked like they were doing some building work to the outside patio, but not sure what as nobody working on it. The spa was an extra cost (€10-20 per person) or included with a treatment. Our massages were very good but most of the spa facilities we’re not working. The pool (indoor and quite cold), sauna, steam room and lounge area were nice. The Hammam, salt room, jacuzzi and some other bits were out of action. This was a little disappointing for what is advertised as a spa hotel.

The property isbeautiful. When we stayed the pool wasnt working. We went to the lounge and out of all the cocktails on the menu only two were available. Unfortunately there is construction around it and a new building is going up that is going to obstruct the view to the town and castle.

1. The room wasn't cleaned up when we returned after first day 2. There is only one chair to sit in the room 3. The arrangement of coffee/tea facilities is very strange, cups and cattle were in the different places, there was no socket for a cattle 4. Water in a swimming pool was very cold, jacuzzi was out of function and sauna was for additional payment 5. Information brochure about attractions in the neighbourhood was for additional payment of 2 Euro 6. The breakfast was very good! 7. The location is excellent, close to the city center - 5-10 minutes of walk. 8. The hotel is very nice. 8. There is a big outside parking

The hotel was spotlessly clean and our room was lovely - spacious with extra seating and coffee making facilities. We could see the old Ottoman part of the city from our room and the main attractions were easy to walk to. The buffet breakfast provided a range of options - go early as it gets very busy.

The White House in Berat Albania
I hotel that looks so big like the White House the staff super friendly and my room beautiful with the best view of Berat you can see the 1000 windows famous houses from your room!!the bathroom wonderful

The hotel is very impressive on the outside. It does have a luxurious appeal. But once you walk in and move upstairs to the rooms, you can tell how they saved costs. The rooms are spacious and pretty, but the bathrooms are cheap. Toilet seats are very cheap plastic, shower cabins leak (not only in our room), interior is low quality. Staff is very nice and service oriented. Swimming facilities were desastrous! We were there end of may and the pool had a dirty film on the surface and hasn't been cleaned for a long while. It would have been a health risk to swim in there. Staff offered to let the filters clean the water until morning, but we just didn't feel like swimming anymore. Breakfast buffet was ok, but I'd say not worthy of a 5 star hotel. The staff was always responsive and tried to help. This hotel has lots of potential, but it needs to be managed more professional.

This was a great stay. I was sorry I had to be in Durres the next day. I would have enjoyed another night. The room was beautiful, the bed was comfy. I would maybe work on the drain in the sink and in the shower.

Very strange hotel: gigantic, Stalin-styled hotel with a dome and pretentious decorations everywhere, but no one is in the hotel. I think we were the only guests. Ate in the dining room alone. Creepy. Probably some money laundering scheme because why would Berat need something like this with another hotel being built alongside. Find another hotel.

A good place for a brief stay
Hotel Colombo is about a 10 min walk from the river and yet it feels a long way from Old Town vibes - so there is a choice to make between the hotel and the location. The breakfast buffet was good quality (coffee welcome if you are of Americano tastes!) but otherwise the hotel looks more than it is. No fridge in my room, safe not locked down etc. Still for one night I slept well and all was OK.

What a wonderful staff and facility! I was greeted at the door by two friendly staff members. Marsela and LeDon. They checked me in immediately and took me straight to the room. Even gave me a choice of rooms. Facility was immaculate! Beautiful former University building that has been meticulously converted. Outstanding Breakfast! Marsela had a map of Berat and explained the city tourist sites. Very helpful. Highly recommend.
