"Everything is good except the room temperature is uncomfortable at night. It is in August. No air condition . We don’t feel comfortable to leave the windows open at night. Also the front desk staffs could be more helpful."

"Remember to greet everyone you meet; you are in Europe so bring your own washcloth if you need one at home! Bus 160 gets you to and from Salzburg and guest mobility card pays for your ride! Have fun!"
Explorer Hotel Berchtesgaden

"This is an excellent hotel for its price point! I felt like I got a lot of value for what I paid. The rooms are clean though no frills. The staff is helpful and attentive. The spa was clean and nice, although it is only open for four hours in the evenings. If you are used to some of the more premium hotel/spas in the Berchtesgaden area, you won’t be impressed. That said, the fact that the Explorer had one, didn’t charge extra for it, and kept it very clean is a huge plus for me. The breakfast was fantastic, although go early if you want to partake in the DIY egg stations. I went in the summer, and you absolutely can’t beat where the location. A quick 10 minute walk to either the Konigssee or Jennerbahn. I literally was busy from the moment I got there on Friday afternoon to the moment I left on Monday morning. I highly recommend the Explorer for those looking for the Berchtesgaden experience without breaking the bank."

"Lovely, clean, quiet hotel. We stayed there prior to a visit to Eagles Nest, which was a short drive from there. There is a nice bar next door, which was convenient for food. We stayed in room 1 on the ground floor and were initially worried that it would be noisy in the morning as it was right next to the entrance to the kitchen. We didn't need to be as we didn't hear a thing, despite the breakfast room being quite busy when we went in. There was a good choice for breakfast. No air conditioning so the room was a bit warm."
