The Space:
Our mountain-top retreat is packed with amenities and fun for couples, families or small groups of friends. Beyond the cabin itself, we love how close to everything we are -- particularly Great Cacapon State Park and Berkeley Springs. The park is free to enter and has miles of hiking trails, a beach and small lake, golf course, horse stables, and a clay shooting range. And the town of Berkeley Springs has been voted one of the top arts communities in the US; the shopping, spa, and restaurant scene does not disappoint!
The cabin includes:
- Outdoor hot tub perfect for relaxing
- 2 bedrooms (one with a queen bed, the other with two twin beds)
- A large deck with a propane grill and stunning views
- A private smaller deck/balcony upstairs off the bedroom – perfect spot to curl up with a cup of coffee in the morning
- WiFi for streaming movies and taking video calls
- Fully-stocked kitchen with a stove/oven and microwave
- AC units to keep you comfortable
- Outside fire pit with seating for the whole gang
Please note:
Our cleaning team sweeps the deck, stairs, and walkways before each arrival, but due to the natural setting, you may still notice some leaves, pollen, or similar—especially during certain seasons. We appreciate your understanding as nature tends to leave its mark, no matter how often we tidy up!
About 100 yards off of the back deck are high-voltage power lines that you can see through the trees. There's no safety issue or anything, but wanted to make sure you're aware.
Wi-Fi is included, though due to the remote location it can occasionally be slower or spotty. We recommend downloading any important content in advance so you can fully relax and enjoy your stay.
We often take our three little kids and dog to the cabin with us, so we're very family- and dog-friendly. Unfortunately we don't allow cats (we're allergic).
We appreciate your understanding and hope you embrace the adventure—this peaceful, scenic setting is what makes your mountain escape so special!

The cabin is suitable for a short stay with all basics to have nice time. Hot tube is a plus. Tony is a good host and always in contact. Couple of small things to improve to make the stay great. The power lines are close to the cabin and they produce a noise. Great location near Cacapot Park and Sleepy Creek Lake.
This cabin is a great place to get away and unwind for a bit. Everything is exactly as pictured - rustic and charming. It is located far enough from Berkeley Springs to seem remote yet close enough to be convenient - good hiking, grocery store and the town are only a 15 minute drive through beautiful countryside.
The location is quiet. You can watch the sun set from the deck as you grill.
The cabin is clean and cozy. The hot tub is a great feature - well maintained and easy to operate.
The owner made everything simple and even checked when I arrived to be sure I had all I needed and then again after the first night to make sure everything was good.
This is a perfect choice if you want a quiet, clean and easy place to stay. I would definitely choose this property again.
We booked this cute a-frame for my husband's birthday. However, the host ran into a problem a few hours before our arrival and needed to relocate us. We did not have a chance to stay at this location. But the host was fantastic. Was very accomodating to what we needed and provided us with a location that was unexpected and beyond our expectations. So although I cannot review this actual aframe, I can tell you the host was phenomenal. Excellent communication and great to work with. Would love to give this location another try in the future.
The deck and fire pit was pretty much where we stayed most of the time. Loved the views and having morning coffee outside! Cacapon State park was so very close and beautiful! My friend went fishing there, as well! Loved having access to a grill and to the hot tub. So many birds to enjoy listening to, as well!
We enjoyed our stay at the cabin with our pitbull. The location was remote enough to disconnect, yet close enough to necessities like groceries and restaurants. The property was as described.
We had a very nice stay at the Hawks nest. Our host was great at communicating and the property was as listed. The only issue was going down the steeper stairs at night, but again they are as in the picture.
It's a cabin so it's not luxury but it was clean and served the purpose of a getaway for my husband and I. I do wish if nothing else they would clean the glass on the view windows at least on the inside.
Clean and quaint cabin in the woods. Loved the peacefulness of a cabin in the woods with beautiful views without being too far from civilization. Watching the sunset from the hot tub and having morning coffee on the porch were highlights of the trip.

VRBO GEM!
The view is awesome, and it’s a great getaway spot. We had trouble checking in due to a miscommunication about the door code, but other than that chilling in the hot tub with that view was awesome and I’d totally come by again!
Communication with Tony was excellent! They were very attentive and accommodating. We only had a short stay but overall the place was really nice and accessible. The cleanliness really should be a 5 star, however some dishes (expected to be done by prior guests) were not really clean. I suppose planning for a dishwasher in the future would help for those guests who don’t know how to hand-wash.
Nice location. Front storm door was missing a window. Turning on the heat was difficult as you had to get down on the floor to turn on, adjust temp and turn off the heat register which took awhile to find the dials. And had to use a flashlight to find. Difficult for anybody with a disability as for me I have back problems. Stairs to upstairs sleeping area were very narrow and I felt unsafe. The railing was not completely to the top of the stairs and I felt the railing was not safe. Railing didn’t go completely to the top. I slept on the couch as I didn’t feel safe at all going up the steps. One light switch was hard to find. Finally found it 3/4 hidden behind the tv. I enjoyed the views from the belconys. I suggest upgrades to the moving the access to the heat switches higher level for easier access and maybe install a more supportive stronger railing and consider making the steps wider and safer
. Quiet retreat in woods. 10 minute drive from downtown Berkeley Springs. Nice pet friendly retreat. Steps were awkward to climb. Overall nice and quiet with great views.
