Quiet Stay in Berlin
We really liked the Alecsa. We are a family of four plus one dog. The hotel is in a quiet part of Berlin in section B of the public transportation map. The closest station is 10 minutes walk through a nicer neighborhood and restaurants and shops are even closer. The breakfast offered by the hotel is good and for a decent price. The staff is excellent.

Good Christmas stay as couple
Our stay was generally very good. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and matches the photos quite well. The location was convenient for us, as we were a short (<5 minute) walk from the train station (S-Bahn). We had a really great time in Berlin, and this hotel was definitely a part of that. It was comfortable and clean, and we enjoyed our time there. The room was very spacious. I would note that this does not meet many peoples' expectations of a traditional hotel. It is more like a hostel that had been converted into a hotel. There is daily room cleaning, which is good. The surrounding area is quite dimly lit at night which can be uncomfortable for some people walking back (alone) at night. This location is excellent if you intend on visiting Christmas markets (as we did), since it is close to Spandau, Zoologischer Garten, Alexanderplatz and several other Christmas markets.

Good hotel in quiet location
PROS: Location is decent in a quiet residential area relatively close to S-Bahn station. Street parking is free and usually available near the hotel. Breakfast buffet is very good (although it is an extra charge). Room is spacious and clean with comfortable beds. CONS: Shower water temperature was either scalding hot or ice cold with nothing in between making taking shower there a very uncomfortable and possibly dangerous experience. Wi-Fi did not work on anyone’s devices either because of a bandwidth or the hotel’s local network issue.

We stayed 4 nights. the room was clean and bed clean but pillow not comfortable. The hotel is in an industrial area so lorries come and go from early hours so keep windows close if you want to rest. Car park can get very busy Staff is polite

Good hotel
It's not a fancy hotel, but it provides everything for a good and comfortable stay. The room was clean and spacious, and the bed comfy. We will definitely consider it for our next visit.

Best breakfast buffet in Berlin!
Front desk was very nice. Room was big and had a great balcony. Bathroom was perfect with shower products to use. BEST PART: Breakfast buffet. It was perfect! Eggs, bacon, fruit, cereals, breads, etc. Perfect for a big american family. Lots of street parking (we were there during the summer vacation season). Very quite area.

Old Building; Clean Place; Friendly Staff
The hotel seems to be very old, probably 40+ yrs. So, the elevator, the doors (locks, telephone to talk to person outside the door), bathroom, some of the furniture just show lots of wear. On the other hand, bed, couch, bunk beds (there were 3 in our room plus still plenty of room) seemed much newer. But that was IKEA furniture which I do like but is just not made for hotel use; it's just not durable enough for that. The pillows were extremely bumpy, the mattress very soft (and laid through?). The hotel and room was very clean; I think the housekeeping staff does a very good job keeping everything clean and pleasant. Both front desk workers we met were very friendly and helpful. The location of the hotel can be a little difficult: there's only one entry, around the corner from the parking lot. So, when you first get there you won't really know where to park (parking lot costs just a few euros per night, the spots are locked = need to get the key from the front desk first). I don't recall a wheel chair ramp, just a few steps. We only stayed one night. Next time, I would try to find a different place but would stay here if I could not find a diff. place in the same (affordable) price range. I would recommend this place for a very short stay because of the cleanliness of the place, the friendliness of the employees, and the decent rate.

Good hotel!!
Good hotel, close to S-bahn station which is very important in Berlin. The only remarkable thing is that WiFi is available buying a voucher. I dislike it!!

Football Weekend
We had a great stay, and where made really welcome by the reception and Hotel staff. A special thanks to both Vennesa and Nichole for their help and putting up with us, they where both really friendly and helpful. It is priced well and handy to the train station and access to Berlin. A great stay and would use it again.

The staff gave us useful recommendations (e.g. store in the neigbourhood). It is nice to get the actual local newspaper with lots of events and other actual information. The breakfast is not cheap but quite rich and children can eat with the parents rate.

A good family trip
Good location if you want to used the Tegel airport and if you want to sightsee downtown it takes a while to get there by S-ban by the connection is quite conventient. The hotel covers all your basic needs. No free Wi-Fi - quite important if you travel with children.

The hotel is close to pickelsberg station on the S5 train line, however when i booked the hotel i didn't realise how far it was from central Berlin. Our train journey into central Berlin took between 30-40 minutes one way. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful, directing us to where the best Christmas markets were. The hotel is pretty basic but clean, overall a satisfactory stay.

Brilliant hotel very close to the heart of Berlin
Train station located 5-10 minutes from hotel providing magnificent transport links. Hotel had a general good feel to it with families & school parties brilliantly accomodared. Staff awesome & manners exemplary, overall a real pleasurable stay and will go again.

Just what we were looking for
The hotel is situated in a quiet, rural location. % minute walk from the S Bahn (S5 into town), and only about 15 minutes to town. As a nice touch, a kettle would have been appreciated in the rooms!. The only downside was a very bad smell from the drain in the bathroom. We only tried the breakfast once, which was ok, and bought rolls etc from the local shop.

Budget Hotel no Free WiFi
It was a little shock at first viewing of our given room not quite the hotel experience we are use to. It's more Hostel than Hotel No Carpets on the floor and no Free WiFi in the rooms they require and extra fee. Having said that it was adequate for a nights stay as we checked in at 12 Midnight and checked out by 10 am hence we choose a budget room and got what we paid for a No Frills room .

Budget hotel in a quiet area
Budget hotel, room was clean. Very quiet neighbourhood, not much around in terms of shops or restaurants. Hotel located very close to S-Bahn, giving it easy access to all of Berlin basically. Great value for money.

Very Good Budget Option
Stayed here for two nights with my girlfriend in November. The hotel is very basic with few facilities. There is a (very small) bar which apparently serves breakfast in the morning, but we did not use it ourselves nor did we see anyone else using it. The room itself was large with the basic furnishing making it seem rather empty. Everything about the room and the hotel was very clean and tidy. The room was rather cold on the first night, although temperatures in Berlin were around -7 at the time we visited and after we'd turned all the heaters in the room to the max it was fairly comfortable by the second day. I'd noticed from other reviews and some of the pictures posted of the hotel that some of the double beds were actually two singles pushed together. This is what we got. Were it not for this factor I'd of given 4 ratings across the board. The staff were very helpful and accommodating, booking taxis to the airport for us and printing out train schedules. In terms of location the hotel is about 20 minutes out from the centre of Berlin by train. I had never been to Berlin before and did little research about the transport system but found it very easy to get around and go back and forth between the hotel and city. Only one train is needed from the city with trains running very regularly and according to the hotel staff all night on Fridays and/or weekends. There is a supermarket and a restaurant or two a short walk from the hotel.

The hotel was nice. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was nice as well. Had to pay for wifi and it only worked on one device. Also had to pay 9 euros per person if we wanted breakfast after it was advertised that there was free breakfast. Also they wanted 8 euros to park your car on their property. Not in the most convenient location for sightseeing but if you have a car to drive around then it is a pretty nice location.

Very nice hotel close the the Olympic stadium and S-barn station only 2 minutes walk. Nice location with shops just over the road. Little bar which is open late with seating outside which is good when warm. Would recommend to anyone who what's a relaxing hotel with great routes into Berlin centre

The hotel was shabby and understaffed. Only one staff member to serve refreshments and do reception. There was a smell of drains. Very few local amenities. A couple of nice but expensive restaurants. No supper in the hotel. It hardly merits being called a hotel. Rather a hostel. Most residents were clearly young students for whom it is probably very suitable. No decent lounge. The bathroom was clean but needs a refit, peeling enamel on bath, new grouting etc. Only the most basic pillow and duvet. I was cold. We ordered a taxi which never came. Very inconvenient at 5am with a flight to catch. As a family we would never consider coming again and Expedia should have alerted us as to the standard. The windows are beginning to rot. This is a high rise block with only one shabby, small lift. Sorry! The staff do their best but are very young and inexperienced with no local knowledge.

It is a cheap - OK hotel. If you just want to spend the night, take a shower - it is fine. If you are planning to stay a few days and go to the city a few times - then I wont recommend this. It is far, but clean, isolated place, but overall ok.

Adequate Hotel but lifeless area
in the shadow of the glockenturm and olympic stadium the hotel itself ,barring it having only the one small lift, is quite nice. for the first day i did not know that the estate of concrete flats opposite hides a square with 2 restaraunts, a coffee shop, and a kaiser supermarket amongst others. this is ideal for tyhose not wishing to pay 9 euros for breakfast. despite it being 'way out west' it is quite quick to get into the centre(or indeed Potsdam only took one hour!) due to two very convenient s-bahn lines serving the station. if your a party animal aim for a central location. if you want a calmer environment then this is for you.
