Great stay
The hotel was only a few steps away from the U-Bahn station and had a variety of restaurants and a market. Only 20 mins from Tegel Airport, via public transport.

I am a very positive individual, want to be up front... The hotel is going through major renovation, we did not receive any notice of this. Could not find entrance, so we asked a store attendant close by. Hotel had a very small 2x5 inch sign on a metal construction door that lead into an active construction site! Once we found reception area, the clerk appreared from being out back behind the property on a cell phone break. I will say, the young man was extremely polite and nice... No parking at all for guests unless to pay the hotel an extra 7-Euros, and the clerk told us they only have a few spots in lots about a city block away from hotel. So, if you have a vehicle, this can be a problem. We took our chances and found a non-marked area in a alleyway. Room was clean, city street view. A little dated, so hopefully they will renovate the guest rooms in addition to the new floor levels they are adding. For the value (price), i would not recomend. Better hotels in the area.

Yet Another Great Stay Here
Been staying here for well over 25 years. Bit of a mess at the moment during renovations and instalation of a lift, looks like it won't be much longer though (From May 2019) A few great restaurants in the local area, Hotel location is around 20 'steps' from the Alt Spandau U Bahn station. Its a quiet area and very little or no noise in the evening's. Just looking forward to next month when I'll be back yet again!

OK but not more than that
Hotel is located next to Banhof Altstadt Spandau, so location is convenient. It is hard to find the hotel entrance because it's located only on the upper floors of the building and no signs provided to the entrance from the main street. At the moment there is no elevator to the hotel and you have to carry your luggage by the steep staircase. Room was ok but small and furniture quite outdated. The bed was comfortable but the pillows were not good. Breakfast was ok with good but not a very large choice. Price was 100 euros per night, I guess because of ITB. To me, it seemed quite overpriced for what you are getting.

Been staying here for well over 25 years!!!!!! Been chatting to the staff and they are installing a lift (elevator) doing LOADS of renovation and re-modelling and so on. Seeing the plans it should be VERY nice when completed. More rooms, New breakfast area, New other things. Looking forwards to everything. Should start sometime in Nov 2018

A very good stay at this Spandau Hotel. Nothing fancy - rooms are better that public areas - overall good value for money. Parking is very limited but U Bahn is on the doorstep.

Convenient hotel outside Berlin city center
U-bahn (subway) is basically right outside hotel while two S-bahn (train) stations are within short walking distance. Hence easy to travel in/out of Berlin and easy to get to Tegal Airport using this transit (25 minutes - One bus with one stop then 7 U-bahn stops). Hotel is close to Waldbühne if you are attending concert. 3 flights of stairs to climb. No AC, small rooms with small bathroom tolerable but bed mattress comfort was awful!! Small breakfast area - ok selection of items. wifi ok, tv not great quality and no english channels. Staff very friendly and helpful. Town is quaint, a number of shops and restaurants right outside and around hotel area with indoor/outdoor eating (no cars as streets are basically pedestrian only). Nice little town to walk around in. I think the room price was a bit too high for what this hotel offered (there was construction in the courtyard outside our window at 730am in the morning ... noisey machinery... so forget about sleeping in especially when windows need to be open due to hit weather).

Good simple clean hotel. I chose it as I was going to a gig at the Zitadelle, which is only a few minutes walk from here. Check in was quick and friendly. The room was a good size. It’s also seconds away from the metro, and only 20 minutes from Tegel Airport by metro and a short bus ride.

Room was excellent, especially for 4 people. Staff were incredibly helpful, fantastic English, and very quick to respond to queries (especially on how to get to the hotel from the airport). The hotel is right on the underground (U) station, about 10 seconds walk.

Returning Again!
I have been here MANY times!! Its still a wonderful place, still a quiet and safe area, and they still have some nice places to eat all within 5 to 10 mins away. The U Bahn station Alt Spandau (U7) is about 20 paces or so to the hotel. I'm already booked again for 2 upcoming trips!!

OK stay. A bit too far from Berlin - where we really want to visit. No elevator (and our rooms were on the 3rd floor) and it was not clear when we did the booking, even though the staff said the no-elevator info was all over the internet. If we had known, we wouldn't have booked the hotel. Internet connection was unstable. The staff was very helpful though and packed food for us, so we had food on the early train.

Just outside the Spandau U-bahn station. As others have mentioned, the reception is two floors up. Friendly staff. Room ok, seems could be hot in the summer season without AC. Breakfast room could get a bit crowded, but the food was pretty good.

Overall the stay was great. A little shocked when we had to walk up 2 flights of stairs just to get into the hotel and then walk up another flight to get to our room, but the friendliness of the staff made up for it. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who doesn't mind the steps. The complimentary breakfast was also quite enjoyable. The area where it is located is also wonderful. Spandau is a great little town.

Pleasant, clean and quiet.
The view from the top floor bedroom was really nice. The breakfast buffet was excellent, they catered for everyone's dietary needs. Whether you wanted a fry-up or healthy cereal it was all there. The staff were very informative their hospitality was lovely. The facilities were very good especially for tourists - travel tickets were available for purchase inside the hotel. They also offered a wake up call service for those leaving the facility early in the morning. Overall the stay was lovely and peaceful!

The number of flights of stairs was a surprise but the location was great as public transport was very close to accommodation. Quiet room and bedding comfy. Internet access was intermittent and, when available, was extremely slow however staff indicated that this was being addressed. Thanks for breakfast menu variation, following earlier email request.

Clean throughout. Staff were very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast was good. The only drawbacks were lack of lounge/meeting point to relax during the day and no lift. The hotel is all on the upper floors of a building so you must carry your cases up several flights of stairs. However, we would use the hotel again. We had a good stay. Great value for money. Wifi was free!

Lovely little hotel in a pretty part of Spandau. The staff were polite and friendly and couldn't be more helpful. Breakfast was plentiful and very tasty. The rooms were basic but comfortable, and spotlessly clean. One warning: there's no lift and the hotel is on the second, third and fourth floors of the building. Good for keeping fit, but not so good if you don't like stairs.

Quiet oasis away from the bustle of Berlin
A great hotel for a Berlin visit. A very quiet, friendly hotel in the old (and really pleasant) quarter of Spandau. Our large and comfortable room was clean and nicely furnished. Free WiFi was helpful when planning the day ahead. Breakfast buffet was splendidly varied and well presented. All the staff were friendly, helpful and welcoming. A really pleasant stay. The immediate surroundings offer a wide choice of restaurants for a drink or an evening meal. We tried, and enjoyed, the Turkish and Vietnamese restaurants within 100m of the front door. Why stay in Spandau? With excellent U-Bahn, S-Bahn and rail connections it's convenient for the attractions on that side of Berlin and you can get to the centre of town quickly and cheaply - get a multi-day season ticket. And, it's so nice to leave the hustle and bustle of Berlin behind after a day of galleries and sightseeing and to return to the quiet and peace of old town Spandau. Thoroughly recommended.

The hotel was conveniently located; a simple train ticket allowed us to travel into Berlin easily and cheaply. The staff were friendly, happy and helpful, lovely breakfast, we liked the surrounding area - in all, a good choice of hotel. We would have liked to spend another few days there.

Spandau by Berlin
Located 50 feet from UBahn. Berlin city centre 15 mins by UBahn. Spandau brilliantly located with SBahn, UBahn & main line access. As it is so easy to get around Berlin staying in a hotel that is not located in the centre of Berlin is not a problem at all. Spandau still remains one of the nicest areas in west Berlin.

Although this hotel is not located centrally, it is easily accessible as its located close to U and S bahn stations. Transport around Berlin is easy and hassle free. It is a lovely location in Spandau with a real oldy worldy feel to it, with cobblestone streets and gothic churches. A very 'local' area with much charm. The hotel itself was very welcomming with helpful staff who really go out of the way. Rooms spotless and with all you need. Only downside is the top rooms did appear very hot, but fans were provided. Not good if mobility is restricted due to lots of stairs to enter. All in all, I would highly recommend this hotel and it added to our Berlin experince greatly

Nice hotel west of Berlin center
Not located in center of Berlin. However it is on subway line U7 one stop before last at Altstadt Spandau. Hotel is less than 100 meter from the BREITE STRASSE exit. You can get to central Berlin in about 35-40 minutes. Room is good size and clean. Staff is friendly and helpful. Buffet breakfast is nice. There is wifi free on site. Plenty of restaurants and bars around with reasonable prices. There is no elevator so if you have heavy luggage, you need help to move it up and down. That is not a problem for me since I travel quite light. I am very pleased and will go back again.
