Our stay was delightful. The history of the home was so interesting. History buffs would be in their glory. The rooms were nice and comfy. The area was nice too with plenty to do. Wished we would of stayed longer just to enjoy the house. Host was very nice with added amenities not many other places offer.
Great historic house. Lots of documentation and some awesome little perks, too. Just be aware that in a 200 year old house, some things are different…but that doesn’t mean bad. Great experience for those who enjoy history.
My sister, her husband, my husband and son and myself had a wonderful visit! We came to care for our parents home prepping for sale but wanted to stay close by. We were so comfortable in the big sprawling house--there was plenty of room for us to spread out! We felt like we stepped back in time with the high ceilings, antique furniture and huge front porch. Your welcome gifts were so nice, and the amenities were much more than most other properties we have stayed. The history right in the home was amazing and the town and surrounding area is so rich with the past.
Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
We had a great stay at the historic Laura Jackson Arnold house. If you want a perfect in every way modern updated house then don’t choose this VRBO BUT if you enjoy a large vintage home with lots of historical value then this is the place for you. Many of the original aspects of the home are still intact. There was plenty of space for me, my husband and father in law. We enjoyed the museum and Heritage Center within walking distance. We also enjoyed the Gandy Dancer theater and the Tygart Flyer. We had a great long holiday weekend. The homemade blueberry lemon bread was so delicious. We were happy to be your first guests ever!
