"Our whole experience was wonderful! Mick and Lollie, the hosts, made sure we had everything we needed for an amazing vacation and provided us with many great local recommendations before and during our trip. The small (no wake) lake was very peaceful and clean. Our kids loved fishing off the dock for bass, swimming to the raft and watching the loons. We also rented a pontoon boat which was nice to take a leisurely cruise around the lake. We all enjoyed the included kayaks and canoe. The sand beach was very clean and included beach chairs and hammocks. The cabin itself was comfortable and had all the bedding options we needed for our family. We took advantage of the gas grill and fire pits (firewood was included!) Site was only a 20 minute drive to Minocqua. The cabin had a nice layout to accommodate our dog, including latching gates on the deck. Overall we couldn't be happier with our trip to Thunderbird Lodge and would definitely recommend it to families wanting a quiet, relaxing vacation spot."

Serene cabin in Lac du Flambeau

"We were looking for an old school, quiet, and peaceful retreat for a long weekend, and this place was just exactly what we were looking for. We could hear the loons calling on the lake as we fell asleep. We adventured to Manitou Waters and Boulder Junction for coffee each of the mornings to explore, and then explored their crystal clear waters of the lake at the cabin, and read on the dock all afternoon and evening. The little vintage cabin had everything we needed, and was great for making meals and relaxing. Sunrises and sunsets are beautiful there. Carie was an excellent communicator, and was so helpful and responsive for any questions we had. Hoping we can head back next summer."

"The house is set up beautifully for a large group to be together without being crowded. Plenty of room for the ten of us to eat together and play games, but room enough for those who needed space to "work from home." Nice linens, kitchen stocked beautifully with everything we needed. Full size washer and dryer was a plus. The patio/firepit is great, as is the swimming area and lakeside amenities. Having the big screen porch makes evenings very enjoyable. The perfect place for our annual family get-together. Thank you so much, Alderwood!"

"If you are looking for a quiet, very clean, super cozy, remote Northwoods cabin with an outstanding view/location right on a beautiful smaller 55 acre lake - THIS IS IT!! Sue’s place is awesome. Clean and cozy with a very well-stocked kitchen. The view is fantastic and really offers you that “up north” feeling. The canoe and kayak (included) are perfect additions for navigating the beautiful lake, and I would recommend the fishing boat with outboard motor (for a small weekly fee) as it is a nice addition for those who like fishing. Speaking of fishing, the lake is one of the best for that!! Also, NO WORRIES on communication with Sue. She responds quickly and accurately to all inquiries - she was the best!! The road in to her place is a bit more of a rocky access road via a tree-lined trail, but just go slow and you’re fine. But overall, this is a wonderful place that I would HIGHLY recommend!!!"

"Place was amazing and very clean. Host/owner thought of everything you could need for a wonderful stay. The house is beautiful and so is the lake. Our host Jessica was amazing and communicated with us the entire time and made our stay great!"
