The Richardson Hotel

"The property is a fascinating re-purposing of a former psychiactric hospital. The hotel was in a gothic (?) type building with two imposing towers containing the guest rooms. The hotel entrance had a modern glass enclosure leading from the street level up to the checkin desk. The interior was completely re-modeled with modern furniture and art pieces. Impressively large photo reproductions of the original buildings and of the Western New York area and history were hung everywhere. Each photo deserved examination. At the lower level was a museum describing the hospital/hotel history graphically and via video media. Our room was novel and freshly designed and fitted up. The staff and bar were wonderful. The breakfast service was a bit disorganized; the combination of newly hired staff and a new managment structure and menu caused issues. We did get to eat there once, and the food was excellent."

"First and foremost, the hosts are extremely responsive and offer excellent details about everything from check in to check out and everything in between. The property is perfectly appointed and very versatile. The location is next to perfect, giving you very easy access to great shops and restaurants, the Elmwood Village Farmers Market, Deleware and other parks - lots of these are within walking distance. Great place, great location, great hosts. By all means, stay here!"

"The house was beautiful and perfect for what we needed! Everything was clean and just what we'd hoped for. The outdoor fireplace was a great perk for our group and made for a perfect spot to unwind at the end of the day. Chuck was a great host and very responsive if needed."

"As a Buffalo girl now living out of state, I was SO EXCITED to find the perfect place in and around where I used to live and socialize. The property was exactly like it was portrayed in the listing. Clean. Stylish. Comfortable. It honestly felt like I was in my own home. I will DEFINITELY be a repeat customer. I was very impressed with the host John. He was very approachable like a longtime friend and was there with any questions I had. I would recommend this place to everyone! The bar was such a cool addition as was the coffee nook! I will be back! One last thing...GO BILLS!"

"We stayed at this beautiful home on 6/12/26 as we had our daughters birthday party downtown and we live 45 minutes away and it was extremely convenient for our family to stay close to the venue. The house was very clean and the beds were all very comfortable. It was supplied with 2 separate kitchens that were stocked with everything you would need right down to coffee makers including coffee. The host Christine was great to work with and replied to my emails with answers to my questions immediately. I would highly recommend this home if you are in the area and in need of a place to stay."
