"What a great property for a lake weekend gathering with friends!!! Plenty of room for four couples to get away and share great times together! Quiet enough area on the water to enjoy kayaking and paddle boards, but also great access to the other lakes via boat. We will definitely be back for more great times!!!"

"Beautiful home on Big Trout Lake. Ideal location to enjoy the Whitefish Chain. We needed four bedrooms for our expanding family which combined with the three bathrooms met our needs. The dock provided an easy way to enjoy the lake without a boat although we did rent a pontoon from Brian which allowed us to enjoy the entire chain of lakes. Brian made check in easy and was always accessible if we had questions. House was clean and the kitchen had everything we needed to prepare meals. We throughly enjoyed our stay and plan to stay here again in the future."
The Boathouse-on the Whitefish Chain of Lakes

"This boathouse was truly perfect for our 5-day stay in Crosslake on the Whitefish chain. Because it comes with dock access, we were able to explore the chain of lakes by boat, which was a huge treat and really helped us decide whether or not Crosslake is a place we'd like to retire to. Everything we could want or need was supplied by the hosts; the kitchen was well stocked with the necessary utensils, appliances, etc., and the towels were plentiful. The size of the boathouse was more than adequate to be comfortable for 4 individuals, with one couple sleeping downstairs and the other in the bedroom on the main level. We loved the small beach/firepit area down next to the water, which was also a great place to observe all of the wildlife (especially the ducks, loons, and herons) and watch the boaters enjoy their sunset pontoon rides. What a gem of a vacation spot! We highly recommend it and won't hesitate to stay here again when the opportunity arises."

"Wonderful lake house on Trout Lake. The owners are easy to communicate with as we had questions before booking because we were traveling with some elderly family members, and they had great recommendations when we needed them post booking to plan our trip. The house was fantastic. It had everything we could ask for and was the perfect location on the lake. Easy and quick access to the dock (no steep steps) and walking distance to Manhattan Beach for dinner and quick drive into cross lake when needed. House was very clean, with nice and comfortable furnishings throughout. We loved the screened in porch for coffee and reading and the firepit at night. We would definitely rent here again if in the area."

"Property is a mixed bag. Good things are REALLY good. Great pool, access to lake for paddle boarding, kayaking, fishing, etc, clean, private, big common area, and 2 large refrigerators. Host responded to all of my queries promptly. Based on those things our family had a great time. However when we arrived at 4:00 PM on our first night, the thermostat said 83. We checked to make sure cool air was coming through vents and we had trouble finding vents. The house has been built piece-meal and that appears to be part of the problem. The air-conditioning, as is, does not keep the house cool. It was working, because in the middle of the night it would cool down to 75 or so, but during the day we couldn’t get it any cooler than 81 which made for a stifling experience indoors. One of our family members is the chief engineer at a Weston Hotel. He did not see any point to calling, because it’s the set up not that it wasn’t working. Issue two was the place needs some repair. The major couch is obviously broken, and it has been reviewed as such but not taken care of. Wood chairs outside have cracked slats and are dangerous for people to sit on. Furniture needs painting. Also, some very quirky things like shower heads that come up to your chest and bathrooms you walk through closets to access. Check your bill carefully. We were initially overcharged 200 for early arr./late dep. Luckily we caught it, then we requested it. We were declined and promptly asked for refund, which we received."
