About this property

30 Acre Mountain Escape - Epic Divide Views & Pond

  • Tucked into 30 private acres above Nederland and surrounded by Roosevelt National Forest, this modern mountain retreat offers expansive Continental Divide views, a covered hot tub, and a private trout-stocked pond. Walk directly from the house to West Magnolia Trailhead just 1 mile away, hike from the property to Tungsten Mountain’s summit for sweeping Divide views and a glimpse of the Front Range plains, ski Eldora just 10 minutes away, and enjoy downtown Nederland only 5 minutes away.

    The space
Designed for gathering and slowing down, the home blends warm modern interiors with expansive mountain views from nearly every room. The house includes 4 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and 9 beds across thoughtfully designed sleeping spaces, along with multiple indoor and outdoor living areas, a fully equipped kitchen, and large windows that bring the surrounding landscape indoors.

One of the bedrooms includes a dedicated office workspace for remote work, while the bunk room doubles as a game room and hangout space. A separate lower-level lounge offers additional space to relax after a day on the trails.

Step onto the expansive deck and take in a landscape that changes character with every hour of the day, from bright alpine mornings to glowing sunset light across the Divide. Guests can enjoy the covered hot tub, fire table, private trout-stocked pond nestled in a sun-drenched mountain meadow, and direct trail access from the property itself.

West Magnolia Trailhead — one of the area’s most loved destinations for hiking, biking, and trail running — is located exactly 1 mile from the house. Guests can also hike directly from the property to Tungsten Mountain lookout, where the area's best view of the Continental Divide awaits as well as a glimpse of the distant Front Range plains.

Whether you're here for skiing at Eldora, mountain biking, fishing, or simply a quiet weekend in the mountains, the home was designed to feel connected to the landscape while still offering the comfort of a modern retreat.

    Other things to note
Nature is very much alive here — don’t be surprised if you catch a glimpse of local wildlife going about their day, including moose, fox, bears, and the occasional mountain lion.

The property is accessed via a well-maintained mountain road, and during winter months we have regular plow service to help keep the driveway accessible after storms. Like most homes in the area, all wheel drive or 4 wheel drive is strongly recommended during the winter months and may be required during heavier snow.

Cell service is OK at the house, but may be limited when exploring the property and surrounding trails. The home is equipped with high-speed Starlink internet. Ride share services are generally unavailable in the area, so guests should plan to have their own transportation.

The house was beautiful inside and out. Each room had special features that made the house feel like home. The outside views were breathtaking. My sons enjoyed the trout pond while my husband and I enjoyed the views on the property. The owner was very fast with all responses, and the check-in and check-out process was super easy. Would recommend this property to anyone visiting the area.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The home is well appointed with everything we needed for our week long adventure. The on property hikes, wildlife and the most amazing sunsets made it hard to want to venture into town. It’s private but still close to town to grab groceries or a bite. We had ice cream and had lunch at Ned’s General Store which was excellent. Our trip was a 10 out of 10. Highly recommend!

We stayed here for four nights with our three teenage sons and would definitely return. We were looking for an escape that would be away from the busyness of national parks, yet close enough to a wide variety of activities. Magnolia Reserve provided exactly that. Beautiful views of the continental divide from the deck and hot tub, a clean house with room to give each other space and proximity to hikes, stores and more modern activities in Boulder and beyond. The home itself was very well represented in the photos. It is classy, clean, cozy and the owners have thought of every detail we needed including fans, blankets and plenty of towels for both the hot tub and bathrooms. Owners were very responsive to communication both prebooking and during our stay.We enjoyed the short hike up Tungsten Mountain behind the house on day 1 as we acclimated to the higher elevation. Day 2 we took the Hessie to Lost Lake trail, with a side adventure early on to follow the stream instead of the main path. Soaking in the sunset over the still snow-capped mountains while sitting in the hot tub was certainly a nice end to each day. On our final day we drove the 45 minutes to Golden, rented e-bikes and rode to check out Red Rock Amphitheatre and back. While this isn't a criticism, just be aware that in some ways this home is remote (very limited road signage to find it and no neighbors) but in other ways you're still close to Nederland and can hear the peak to peak highway on occasion.
