Exquisite!
This place is absolutely amazing. Hidden in the gorgeous mountains and surrounded by the fragrant picturesque evergreens… it does not disappoint. There is the utmost attention to detail that just puts the icing on the cake. We absolutely loved the treehouse. It is a memory we will never forget, and we hope to come back again soon. (haven’t decided yet if we actually want to share this treasure with the kids or not!) It was worth every penny!

Dream cabin in the woods
Everything was advertised! We brought groceries to cook our own meals and the kitchen had exactly everything we needed. It was very relaxing to have the fire going with a picturesque snow outside. Communication was fantastic as well. My wife will certainly be going home to train our local birds to eat out of our hands now!

Treehouse dreams come true!
We’ve had a goal to stay in a treehouse so when we found this we were so excited. The photos don’t really do the property justice. The cabin is rustic and cozy and the treehouse is gorgeous and modern. There was a fun treasure hunt in the house. The house is easy to get to and also feels totally secluded. We had a great time and can’t wait to go back in the summer!

Oh My Gosh!!
This was an amazing place to stay! My husband and I have stayed at many VRBO houses all over the US, including Hawaii and we would definitely rate this A plus!! It is a magical place to go and spend alone time. In the 3 days we were there we saw/heard 3 cars and saw no people! For us this was a big treat! Every inch of both the cabin and the treehouse are a treat. The lighting, the technology used, the coziness were all top notch! Plenty of essentials and then some. Nothing was forgotten in this rental. We made our main base in the cabin and spent lots of time in the treehouse! I used the treehouse for meditation and naps and we even stayed overnight there one night...why not, right!! At night the lights made the whole area feel like you were in a fairyland story and the sun through the trees in the mornings were a great way to wake up! We did the outside scavenger hunt and had a great time and, of course, we had to let the birds eat out of our hands. There was so much to do...or just do nothing! Our host was the nicest we have ever worked with and we are so appreciative this! Thank you so very much, Brian! We look forward to coming back in the future! And, maybe, if they're lucky, we'll even invite our girls :))

The lights really do make the whole thing magical. Every where we looked there was always another delightful surprise. Perfect in Every Way
This amazing property and thoughtful owner is so wonderful, it would take pages to describe all the reasons it was perfect and we didn’t want to leave.Beauty all around, inside and out; amazing lighting details adding to the aesthetic, and ambiance, stones, wood, rocks, trees, moss, river, indoor and outdoor treasure hunts, metal detectors, heated toilet seats, the attention to detail for every single thing, big or small, was thoughtfully included by the owner. They make sure you enjoy every aspect of your stay. We had a beautiful snowshoe hare come visit; the largest most beautiful Stellar Jays were close by, and what seemed like a hundred hummingbirds with three feeders were so tame they landed in our hands when we held the feeders; thrilling! Hiking in the woods makes my soul feel like I’m finally at home. We (everyone in our group) already plan on coming back. The treehouse has a beautiful wooden winding stairway up to the bedroom, a deck with rocking chairs, and was so cozy, fun, and intimate for the young newlyweds in our group; my elderly mother (89 years old) had a fabulous time as well; she used the bedroom on the main level in the cabin next to a bathroom. Our stay was the perfect combination of fun, beauty, relaxing, adventurous, convenience, inspiring, and memorable that we could have hoped for, including unexpected surprises along the way.

Wonderful and unique destination VRBO
This is the kind of VRBO you stay at not because it's a place to stay while you visit the area, but because the VRBO itself is the feature. It is everything in the description and more. Tech lovers will marvel at all the award winning lighting features, satellite internet and sound systems. We loved the hummingbirds and missed them as soon as we left. (I hope the next guests are taking good care of them!) Our family loved doing both the indoor and outdoor treasure hunts. We loved the surrounding nature and hiking. Amazing in every way!
This place is truly special. We were very excited to come because of the positive reviews, but were blown away by the charm, beauty, and whimsical fun this home embodies. The home & magical tree house exude an unbelievable energy that is felt immediately upon entering. And it's charm just keeps growing on you as your stay evolves over the days. We loved our stay. And enjoyed the nature around the property immensely. We felt lucky to get to stay here and highly recommend it to anyone who loves nature and also loves to get back in touch with their creative side.

A Kid's Dream for Grown-ups
OMG! What an amazing place! Surrounded by trees and right on a roaring creek, the location itself is peaceful and calming. I'm 60 and have mobility issues, and yet I was able to stay in the bedroom inside the treehouse. The steps and handrails made it relatively easy to navigate. The lighting in the treehouse is superlative. My friend stayed in the cabin and we both had the most fun figuring out the inside treasure hunt, which is of professional quality with complex locks and hidden compartments. Plan on several days to complete the hunt and expect to ask for clues from owner Brian, who is happy to assist. We also rented an ATV and had the best time exploring trails along the creek and up the mountainside. Note: trails marked easy are not for someone with no experience driving an ATV. I also enjoyed the amount of whimsy in the cabin including busy rodents painted throughout and the google eyes stuck on an outlet above the kitchen counter. Brian was the ultimate host starting from when I first booked the property. Even when I gave him a hard time about the difficulty of the treasure hunt, he was a joy to communicate with and made our stay even better. One thing all renters should be aware of: someone needs to clean and refill all hummingbird feeders daily to keep them coming back. It's worth the effort just to have them sit on your fingers when you put your hand over the perches on the feeders.

An amazing experience!
There is not enough room here to describe this extraordinary property. The treehouse is exquisite. No detail forgotten. Immaculately clean, comfortable, well appointed small kitchen and just special in every way. The cabin is charming and the kitchen updated with modern appliances, fully stocked with cooking pans, utensils and cleaning supplies. All the beds were very comfortable. The host Brian has taken great care to provide instructions on everything between a detailed binder of information and notes around the cabin and treehouse. The treasure hunts are thoughtful and challenging (and fun)! Brian is available for quick responses on questions or to help with treasure hunt clues if needed. He sent us a video from the wildlife cam of a bear that visited during our stay too! The on-property trail is challenging and beautiful. Lots of games, movies, beautiful places to perch by the river, great sound system and the lightning is gorgeous (even the river is underlit at night). It’s a beautiful and unique place to stay.

Incredible Treehouse adventure
This is certainly amazing and demolished our already high expectations. Our family loves cozy cabins, mountains, and treehouses. This is more than that, if you want it to be. It is an experience because there are two treasure hunts that are really fun. A hike trail is on property which we did sometimes more than once a day. Since we love puzzles and small model homes this was right up our alley. The owner is very helpful, easy to get ahold of for any questions, but the whole property is well labeled so things are clear. Really felt welcome and at home right away. The treehouse is fully functional as a little home in the sky, and it is really something special. Our kids said it was the best vacation we've had. So fun.

We recently stayed at Brian’s cabin/treehouse. Our dogs, adult children and their spouses joined us. The home is secluded in the trees which we loved and there is a creek that flows in front of his home. This is tranquility! You can sit and drink coffee (or whatever you like) by it or you can lay in bed and listen to the water flow by. Brian is an excellent host! He checks in periodically and asks if everything is going well. The treasure hunt he has for his guests is so much fun and he is more than willing to give you clues if need be. The two treasure hunts are not just for children! Adults are entertained just as much as kiddos! One of the many highlights of our stay was the hummingbirds! We’ve never seen so many at one time! They actually land on you when you place your hands up to the feeders. It inspired us to have our own hummingbird feeders at our home. Brian not only shares his hummingbirds with his guests but he educates you on how to care for them, history, nutrients, etc.. We also made memories by having many fires in the fire pit, outdoor meals, grilling, and hiking his trails. It was a vacation we will cherish forever! Thank you Brian for sharing your beautiful home with us!

Amazing Tree House
My adult daughter had a dream to vacation in a tree Ouse, so she found this listing . She is a graduate student at CU Boulder. The property did not disappoint!! The tree house is new and amazing! The details of the lighting and the woodwork are fantastic! We played games in the game room at night, and enjoyed sitting by the beautiful and serene fireplace. Both the cabin and tree house are tucked in by the river and woods. Brian, the host, was so attentive to make sure all our needs were met and that we were enjoying our visit. There was a challenging indoor treasure hunt that we were able to complete - but it was a team effort!! So much fun to find the “gold”. Reading material in the cabin included tree houses around the world, pictures of wildlife seen on their outdoor cameras, and the history of the cabin. My husband and i stayed in the cabin and enjoyed sitting by the pellet stove and reading. The hummingbirds arrived while we were there and we watched them at the feeder throughout or stay- so great! the river flow was strong, and the sound was wonderful! It was an ideal location for us to hike and explore local towns and mountains nearby!

IF I ONLY HAD KNOWN…
If I had only known what a magnificent place this was, I would have gone long before now. I can attest, everything that you have read from other guest is completely accurate. Brian has to be the most amazing host I have ever had dealings with. I have stayed in many rentals and I’ve never seen a property manager/owner that has gone to so much trouble to make sure everything is just perfect, I will definitely be going back after the snow has melted to enjoy the perks of the spring and summer. There were a few things that really stood out in my mind other than what as already been stated, when we arrived after a 15 hour drive, I open the door to the treehouse and felt as though I was in a friend’s home. It was warm and welcoming. The cabin had the same relaxing feeling. Seeing the snow and watching it fall was such a wonderful experience. Being from South Texas we don’t get to see such beauty. The next thing I noticed was we didn’t have the proper gear 🤦🏻‍♀️but Brian had a few ideas there as well. There were rubber boots and extra jackets!! Even snow shoes! Who does that?! I considered it a privilege to be able to stay in the treehouse/cabin. Such a wonderful visit. Thank you Brian for making it such a perfect trip for all of us, and always being a phone call away in case we got stumped on the treasure hunt. Which by the way, was SO MUCH FUN! I cannot wait to do the outdoor hunt! So, my word of advice to all would be… Don’t delay in getting your reservations for this place, it was truly amazing! My ❤️is full.

Our family ( 6 ), stayed in the cabin and treehouse, it was amazing! Accommodations were exceptional. There is full kitchen, stocked with everything you need, 2 baths, Wi-Fi, best sound system, satellite TV, movie library, beautiful furnishings, comfortable bedding and very clean. Make no mistake, you are in the Rocky Mountains with privacy in a stunning outdoor setting. Brian and his wife have created an amazing get away with more details then you can imagine! Perfect Mountain Getaway!
My two best friends and I were looking for a quiet long weekend away in the mountains. The treehouse and cabin were the perfect spot to sit by the fire (inside or out) and read, hike, watch movies, play games and catch up. A unique and fun experience!

We just finished our second stay at this property and things couldn’t have gone better. A family a three with 2 dogs and we had enough room and a great time. While this is not a negative, note that the property doesn’t have cell service or washer/dryer. Again, not a negative but something to plan for. WiFi is good and very needed with no cell service. However, Brian is an excellent host and the cabin and treehouse are well worth your time and visit. There’s plenty to do, whether games or outdoors, you can’t go wrong staying at this property. So pretty!!! A must stay!

We have stayed at dozens of short term rentals and we've never experienced this level of thoughtfulness. It was a refreshing and pleasant surprise. The host puts a lot of passion into welcoming guests. The hiking trail is difficult and amazing! The ATV trails are nearby and some of the better riding we've experienced. We did not have kids with us, but if we did, the host's treasure hunt would have been something they'd never forget. The treehouse is extremely well thought out, and very luxurious. If you're on the fence about booking this place, just book it now before someone else does. You won't regret it.

One of a kind Treehouse experience!
From the moment we arrived we knew this would be a very different VRBO experience and it did not disappoint! The craftsmanship of the treehouse is so unique! It elevated the enjoyment of our stay exponentially. How can we adequately describe features like a welcoming digital fireplace, full kitchen, gorgeous bathroom (think heated toilet seat!), top of the line sound and lighting systems, skylights above the custom platform bed with luxurious bedding, while comfortably nestled high amongst beautiful trees? The beautiful wood craftsmanship inside and out is like a masterpiece. It is truly magnificent. Beyond the treehouse, there is a beautiful and cozy cabin complete with a pellet stove and a wood burning fire place for ambience and warmth, a full kitchen, bathroom, and two cozy bedrooms. Huge windows look out into the trees and beyond to the creek. The extra surprise is the scavenger hunt throughout the house. It took us 2 nights to find the treasure and those two evenings were filled with full engagement and lots of laughter. Such a unique and fun activity! Outside, the property is equally as enjoyable and beautiful. There is a fire pit, log splitting set up, BBQ, deck, patio with chairs next to the flowing creek, a hammock., another little sitting area by the water, and yep….an outdoor scavenger hunt! Lastly, Yoga trail is a gorgeous and private hike to a giant flat rock perfect for a picnic. (or some yoga!) The path continues uphill from there and splits into two extended trails. The one to the right takes you to a rock outcropping you can scale for a stunning view of the surrounding area. We could not possibly highlight every fabulous feature or memory of our time at this property. We highly recommend. You will have the time of your life and gain lifelong memories in this treehouse/cabin experience!

This home exceeded our expectations
The home was perfect down to the smallest detail. The two sitting areas next to the water are ideal. We enjoyed the hiking trail that starts directly behind the home. We came to celebrate my son's twenty-fifth birthday, and we had a great time. The owner put great thought into making this home comfortable and functional. Down to the treasure hunt prepared for guests, which was so much fun! He was also readily available for communication when needed. The drive to town was a short distance.

3rd year’s a charm!
This is our 3rd annual trip to the ultimate property, it’s our favorite vacation of the year! We brought my parents this time and they were just as mesmerized as we’ve always been. What was new this year was the treehouse… everyone… this is the treehouse that dreams are made of! Every detail was thought of when Brian planned out this beautiful addition. The crackling of the electric fireplace, the dumbwaiter bucket, the gorgeous log/wood selection, the bedroom views, the automatic shades (just like the main cabin), and the lighting was probably my favorite feature. A different lighting setting for every mood. It was really spacious as well, which was a pleasant surprise for a teeehouse. The rest of the property was as magical as we remember. Even our dogs light up when we pull up because they remember it all so well! We are so happy we got to go back and share our favorite Colorado fall cabin experience with others. Brian is an amazing host, very quick to respond if you need anything, and clearly put his heart and soul into his ultimate property. Hope we can come back next year!

Lives up to the hype!
I found this place from a VRBO ad on Facebook and fell in love with the pictures! It just happened to be available for my kids' fall break so I booked it and we drove 11 hours to get here! The cabin is beautiful - big, tall windows that let in natural light and give great views of the trees and the rushing creek below. The beds are comfortable and so is the couch (where my 9 year old slept every night by choice). The kitchen is fully stocked with equipment. The stairs to get up to the loft are STEEP! It was an adventure in itself carrying a 21 month old up and down them. The cabin is great, yeah yeah yeah - but the TREEHOUSE! The treehouse is undeniably the star of this show. The lighting, the wood, the adorable tiny kitchen - when I die and go to heaven, I hope heaven is this treehouse! To stand in the living room of the treehouse, drinking coffee with the screen door open, listening to the wind in the trees and the crackling of the little fireplace, and smell the cedar... It's a spiritual experience! And at night, the treehouse all lit up is just gorgeous! The treasure hunts are amazing too - we are escape room enthusiasts, and we had so much fun with the treasure hunts! The indoor one lasted much longer than the outdoor one, so don't worry if that's the only one you can do due to weather! Brian is responsive and friendly - we texted him a few times and he always responded within 15-30 minutes. He leaves his phone number too, so you can call if you have an issue. There is a landline phone in the house and also very reliable wifi, so you can use wifi calling on your phone if you don't have service (I didn't have any, my husband had a little). We came here with a 9 year old, 6 year old and 21 month old and they all had a blast! If you have a toddler, consider bringing a baby gate for the stairs, or use chairs to block them - like I said they are STEEP! I could go on but this review is already longer than most people will read. And honestly it's longer than it needs to be to convince you to go - if you're on the fence, just book it! You won't regret it - it lives up to its five star rating!

This treehouse and cabin was AMAZING! It is more than a house to stay at. It is a full on experience. The cabin and treehouse were both so cool! And the surrounding property was a blast to explore. I 100% recommend and will be back myself!!

Simply Amazing
This is one of those places that is so amazing that it is hard to write a review that does it justice. Of all the places we have rented this is by far the best. The hours of thought that went into creating the indoor and outdoor treasure hunts (both of which we completed) were second to none. The attention to detail was beyond our expectations, if you aren't tech-savvy don't worry there are detailed notes for everything. My husband is a big music and lighting guy and was blown away at what the property had to offer. We did Yoga Rock trail as a family and my husband continued on for a beautiful hike. The creek was amazing and our son loved sitting by it and exploring the property. We try not to do repeat stays at places b/c we like to change it up each vacation, BUT this location and property will definitely be on our list to visit again. Brian was great with checking in to ensure we had everything and to see if we had questions (we did reach out for a few tips on the inside treasure hunt to which he happily and quickly replied). This was the PERFECT getaway. We can't wait to return to explore more of the area. We can't thank Brian and his wife enough for the memories made at their property.

Book While You Can!
This place will not only end up on Travel Channel due to its insane upgrades down to the most intricate detailed mouse painting, it’s location and serene landscapes…are just worth every penny! The cabin is beautiful and the treehouse is ridiculous. The owners are so responsive and they think of everything. We have VRBO’d several times over the years and never have we had so many amenities in the kitchen as well as bedding, towels, odd things like paper towels, ICE…something that seems to always be overlooked. After a drive to your vacation weekend the last thing you want to do is leave because the owners or property management hasn’t thought of or didn’t care to think of things like your renters arriving and wanting to start vacationing rather make a run to the “local” grocery store! Everything was top notch. Dinners outback listening to music, morning coffees and evening cocktails down by the river we’re just what we wanted! The owners spent SO much time providing activities and information on the property. We enjoyed all of the write ups learning about the history of the land. We had a great time. Thank you Brian for your hospitality and kindness to let us and our friends stay in your house/treehouse. We will definitely come back! Book up before it hits the Travel Channel and is booked out a year in advance! :) just a really cool experience! Thank you!

We loved the property. Have stayed at many nice properties around the world but this was special. The term that comes to mind, if. allowed, is Badass. The lighting itself is swoon worthy. The creek side relaxation, the careful and unobtrusive labeling, the sound system, the scavenger hunt, the bedding and the Hummingbirds!! Truly a unique and special setting. Don’t hesitate.

What a memorable vacation
We had such a lovely time. Everything we enjoy at home was there. Our adult daughter stayed in the treehouse and we stayed in the cabin. We enjoyed having our coffee on the patio next to the stream in the mornings and sitting outside by the fire in the evenings listening to music. The hummingbirds were fascinating to all of us and we enjoyed feeding them. We appreciated all of the thoughtful details and love that has been poured into this home. The blackout blinds in the downstairs bedroom were fantastic. We almost slept too late because we wanted to enjoy every minute. Thank you again Brian.

Amazing Family Adventure
We have been checking out the cabin since before COVID and dreaming of a mountain getaway. Everything finally fell in place for us to book a week about a year ago. Our advanced planning paid off, and we had the BEST trip. At the time we booked, we had no idea the treehouse was coming. It was soooo fun to watch all of the process through Brian. Brian was an excellent communicator and has put so much time and work into making every moment of your stay incredible. He has a wealth of resources in the cabin and is incredibly easy to reach anytime throughout your stay. We had a group of 5 (my husband and I (39) our daughters 10 and 12, and my dad 64). There was something for all of us. Each of us enjoyed time with the hummingbirds and feeding birds and ground squirrels (my daughter nicknamed Peanut and Jelly), Caring for them was a MAJOR joy of the trip! We also all got involved in both treasure hunts (even the dads ;). My husband and I enjoyed the amazing retreat of the treehouse. The sound system, “fireplace”, ice maker and sleeping with the windows open were a HUGE treat. Our Favorite spot was the rocking chairs on the balcony of the treehouse with an afternoon cocktail. The sound of the creek is something we will miss terribly now that we are home. It was such a calming, peaceful sound. The hiking behind the cabin was fun for all. The initial climb is tough and has you contemplating just how long .7 miles is🤣 but the views and outing were TOTALLY worth it. For me, coming down definitely went faster but was more of a challenge, but we all made it safe and sound. We had a few fun, family campfires, enjoyed a trip to the HIDEE gold mine, made a long day trip to Rocky Mountain and had a great easy hike at Bear lake. We enjoyed some cabin hang out days and a little venture into black Hawk and central city. Safeway in Idaho Springs had anything we needed for the grocery store. Having coffee pots and fridge space in both the cabin and the treehouse was really nice. Words can’t explain the relaxation and memory making opportunities found at the cabin and treehouse. My only word of caution is an obvious one… you are in the mountains and a tree house… there are definitely a good bit of stairs if you find yourself going back and forth a lot during the day (the pulley and walkie talkies in the cabin and treehouse help and make that fun). To fully enjoy the cabin and treehouse experience being sure footed is a plus. :) If it sounds exciting, go for it!!

A Little Slice of Heaven
This is the second time staying at The Ultimate Treehouse and Cabin Experience, and we will definitely be back! The property is gorgeous, incredibly clean, and has everything you need for adventure. Between the stream, humming birds, metal detectors, scavenger hunts, hiking trails, and fire pit, you will not need to leave the property. We were able to watch a lightening storm and stars through the skylights in the treehouse. Our kids loved the humming birds, metal detectors, and the scavenger hunts the most, not to mention the treehouse with a pulley bucket to send up breakfast in the morning. . The outside sound system made it feel like I was attending my own Red Rocks concert in the mountains. Book this cabin - it IS the ultimate mountain cabin experience!

Luxury cabin
My husband and I went for our one year anniversary. By far this was one of our favorite VRBO experiences. It is truly a luxury cabin experience. Every detail has been thought out. The hummingbirds were an added bonus. Highly recommend!
